We played our strongest XI against a United side which does not strike fear into your heart when you look at the team sheets.

12 minutes: BANG! Luis Suarez put's Liverpool 1-0 up after thumping home a rebound from a Jordan Henderson shot, brilliant start for the reds!

24 minutes: Sterling picks up the ball, that's a neat one-two with Barbosa, he flicks it around Dier, now can he stay composed? He can! Sterling slots it past a helpless De Gea and wheels away in celebration! 2-0 Liverpool.

31 minutes:
United really haven't got going today, Jones, to Dier, that's that long ball again, and its been intercepted. Now Liverpool have a chance to break, Sterling, over to Suarez, now what can he do here? Beautiful skill from Suarez, can he score? He's squared it instead to BARBOSA!! Gabriel Barbosa scored the third and Liverpool are coasting to victory here!

33 minutes: Sterling skips past one, skips past two, WHAT A GOAL! Raheem Sterling with yet another brilliant Liverpool goal! This could turn nasty!

37 minutes: Narvajas to Suarez, Suarez has turned here, no he couldn't have, OH MY WORD! Luis Suarez lobs De Gea from 40 yards out on the turn and send United 5-0 down, the fans are leaving, and can you blame them?

65 minutes: Gabriel Barbosa steps up to take the penalty to make it 6-0. Will De Gea save himself some slack here? No. 6-0 Liverpool.

Full Time: Well we have said Liverpool are tipped to win the league, and we all know the how good they are, but no one was expecting this today.

An amazing performance yet again. I played Coutinho upfront this game as a false 9 and he was everywhere. He reminds me of Lionel Messi when he plays in that role. We seem to concede one sloppy goal a match which is something I keep looking at but can't change. We win and that's the main thing.

Don't sell Prowsey

I keep trying to justify why I should keep him, but here is the list of my centre midfielders in terms of importance:

Coutinho
Henderson
Narvajas
De Bruyne
Isco
Allen
Ward-Prowse

I've offered him out on loan but even then nobody wants him!

After demolishing Manchester United we felt it was only fair to do the same to the blue side of Manchester. It looks like we're pretty much in the final. Kevin De Bruyne grabbed a Hat-trick to prove he's settling in with life at Anfield. Sturridge was world class today, this was a big game for him!

If you choose to sell barbosa then I suggest replacing him with mitrovic and I think you shouldn't sell ward prowse he becomes a good player in the future fm universe.

Barbosa is going no where! The gossip column is just for fun!

Great save so far, been really enjoyable to read!

Thanks mate, yours is a good start too! Good luck with that.

Loving this story. What a manager to make the pool score like demons

Thanks mate! Hopefully we can keep the goals up

I base it on a 4-3-3, I change my tactics near enough every game, depending on who I am playing! (By change I mean anything as little as PI's to player roles.

Well that was an awesome game.

You sure? I think the last 4 games between the clubs have only been awesome for the winners. We didn't show up on both occasions this season, and I don't feel you did on both last season. Can understand Gerrard's red and even if Skrtel had one, but Jones had to go too. Give credit where it's due to Matas goal though!

I've brought this lad in from Middelsborough as Skrtel's replacement. At the moment he obviously isn't as good but I'm looking for the future and I do believe with the squad we have he could fit in as back up when needed. £5 million isn't too much of a gamble either.

Martin Skrtel leaves after 11 seasons at Liverpool to join Atletico Madrid. The Slovakian had grown to be one of the fans favourite here and has been a great servant to Liverpool. It's time to move on for both parties, but Skrtel will definitely not be forgotten. Here's a look at his stats over his 11 seasons at Anfield.

Skrtel notched up 258 appearences for the Reds while scoring 21 goals.

A Daniel Sturridge hat-trick saw us through to the fifth round after hammering Gillingham at home. I played the "second" team this game and they we're immense. I have to mention Markovic, Sturridge and the new lad Wright as the best of a great bunch today. Wright even bagged himself a debut goal!

We play City in the second leg of the Capital One Cup. With a 6-1 lead in the first leg, it would take something special from them to knock us out. Especially since they haven't managed to beat us in 13 games.

It was another dominant win over City, we managed to stop them even scoring in their own back ground and finishing the score over two legs at 8-1, amazing. 35 seconds into the game, Barbosa spun Kompany and smashed one in on the edge of the box. Musscheo finished them off 9 minutes in by continuing his strange goalscoring streak in this competition. He is now on 6 goal and is the top goalscorer of the competition this season.
