Jamie Carragher - A Managers Story

Congrats on the epic win over Barcelona!

Looks like Sunderland are on their way to greatness. I'm wondering who the big name signing is. :)

Denmark seems an interesting choice. Good luck with intl. management.

Well big name for Sunderland :P

I think I'm only going to stay with them for the World Cup, seemed like a good opportunity!

James Ward Prowse is a huge signing for us. £2.3 million is such a steal too. He's never really got into the Liverpool team since I signed him and his contract was running out so they let him go cheap. He adds depth to our midfield, as does Jose Alberto. The spanish midfielder is brought in from Madrid, he's more of a back up player for now but the lad has a good future ahead of him.

A hard loss to take. We played really well today and I feel that we deserved at least a draw. Brazil lost to Italy in the openeing game and drew to Australia, so we know that all we need is a draw against them to go through to the knock out stage. It's going to be tough.

As much as I love this story I almost want it to end selfishly so you reveal the tactics you have been using. :p

Wow! what an achievement for you with beating Barcelona.....I find they are a bit easier to beat than most....done it a couple of times in old Brighton games when i think 1 game i won 4 or 5-0 but anytime its a massive achievement against them, good luck with the rest of the World Cup!

I've also tweeted this game to JC on twitter, not saying any responses will be made to me to pass back onto here but would be great if he did :) lol

I normally struggle with Barca! Was made up to beat them! Thanks mate hopefully we can get a result against Brazil...

Would be ace if he read it! Thanks man

Come on Denmark....

Neymar and Ronaldo await!

As a Dane I'm intrigued. Keep it up!

I will try to get as far as I can for you! :)

I'd been up all night trying to work out a way to stop Brazil. Even though they had drew and lost their 2 opening games, a win against us would see us out of the competition. I couldn't see a way past them. A front 3 of Neymar, Barbosa and Ronaldo was enough to make any defenders scared, but I had to think of something. I'd gone back and watched the video's of the last games, what had gone wrong?

It hit me. Italy and Australia literally parked the bus and snatched goals at any opportunity due to Brazil's not so great defence. The only problem was, I have never played that type of football in my life, I didn't know much about playing 10 men behind the ball, we did it a few times with Benitez while I was a player but I hated it, but against this attack I just couldn't see any other way.

It didn't help that behind that attack you had the creative genius in Coutinho. Who I knew extremely well. It seemed impossible to form a squad to counter these players. We were relying on luck on the day, but I don't do luck.

Moller was the only real hope for us. His movement is second to none and he can finish any good chance he gets, he was on the verge of a move to Bayern from Wigan so there were big things from him expected, he could out smarten that defence, but only with some great passing.

I can't officially park the bus, so it's a job to counter them. Hold the midfielder's back until we nick the ball off them and then let loose. If we lost we lost, we had to put up a fight.

If I managed to get us through the group stages, it would be one of my biggest achievements as a manager.
