I've had that happen before, think it was Mandanda who conceded 5 goals to me, but still got MOTM with a rating of 9.1 or 9.3 or something. If anything it's a compliment to your team, saying how much you dominated!

Kevin Volland again. No matter who he plays for he always scores against me. It's a curse I have with many of my ex players. We we're beaten by the better side today. I had no complaints. I was cheered by the Liverpool fans so it's nice to see that I have got my relationship back with them, they are special people. Our next game is Porto and we really need the win.​

Not the best of months for us. We started off well with a good win at Norwich but failed to make the Swansea game count. The hardest loss to take was the Porto one as it means we have a lot to do now to stay in the competition. I've seen our best performance yet this season though. Which is a positive.

Just over a quarter way through the season we find ourselves in fourth place, which is a much better position than this time last year. We have 5 teams below us who will all be fighting for the top 7 too so this season is going to get interesting. Man City and Tottenham are still struggling to get back to where they were 6-7 years ago. Tottenham are again in the relegation zone.

The biggest game of the month has to be the first one. Porto are the team we are looking to beat more than anyone. I feel there are a possible 12 league points up for grabs and if we can get a result against PSG too it puts us in a great place to qualify. I need wins this month.

I'd arranged a meeting with Sturridge. I'd worked with him in 3 different clubs and me and him have always been open with each other about what's going on. This was going to be a tough task though.

I've never seen someone look so deflated in all my life. He'd been through **** and back with his injuries but this was the worst I've seen him. Had the penny dropped that this was the end of his playing career at the top level?

Daniel did make one great point though. He has been playing so well in training, and Dybala hasn't, he also hasn't ever let me down in a big game.

Do I go with my head or my heart? There is something about that man that I trust. Just like he's trusted me. I might just give him this one last chance. He did great last season when I played him.

We had a full stadium awaiting the arrival of Porto. It was pretty much make or break now.

We threw it all away. Quintero bagging in a 86th minute equaliser knocked me sick and I honestly can't see a way back from this now. Olympiakos have to beat Porto and we have to beat PSG. I've been involved in miracles in this competition before but I'm not sure if this one is possible.​

A very good win today. Man City may have lost that status as a big club but you're still always expecting a big game. It's a shame what's happened to them as they did start to build a decent team. Money can't buy you everything I suppose. I was made up for Dybala bagging two. Hopefully he can kick on now and show the form I know he can. To be fair he now has 11 goals in 11 starts, that's not bad at all.​

What a shocking performance. Nottingham Forrest have not won a game all season. Granted I put the second team out but I saw nothing from them today. It's proved that we have a team but not a squad at the moment. Hopefully we can scrape through as much as we can and then we can start to build a full squad for next season. The reason I rested the squad is because we have PSG on Wednesday.​
 
Go for the Holland job - if only so you can take them to another World Cup final and then throw it away... :P

I'm delighted with this move. I've always admired the traditional Spanish game. How they pass and move and control games. They have lost that over the recent years but I'm ready to bring it back. I wan't to win the biggest trophies you can win with these lads. It all starts here.​

What a win. If we manage to get through to the next round Depay has just proved his worth. He's really started to settle in after a slow start here. I'm hoping he just keeps getting better.

As you can see we need Porto not to lose in Paris to give us any hope of qualifying. We would then need to beat Olympiakos at their place. You would think we would have the psychological edge after our 8-0 home win. This is the Champions League though.​

This has really hurt. I've done a lot for this club this year and it's all being thrown back in my face. I'm annoyed with Ellis Short. He never told me his decision on selling the club in the end, which again hurts. Right now the lads don't need this distraction and for this idiot to come out and throw that in when we have our first chance of ever qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League already proves how much he doesn't know or care about football.

I'm seriously considering my options right now. My reputation is back and I know I could get a job elsewhere. That's not to say I want one.​
