My Player of the Season
View attachment 316494

This was a tough choice but Welbeck just edged it over Ozil because he surpassed my expectations of him, scoring a whopping 38 goals and registering 12 assists.

My Young Player of the Season
View attachment 316493

This was an easier choice as Raheem Sterling was one of our best players and at the age of 21 there is a lot more to come from this lad. 9 goals and 18 assists in 35 appearances.

Premier League Footballer of the Year

Ozil was probably worthy of this award but it's nice to see it going to Sterling.

Player's Player of the Season
View attachment 316485

Probably the best performer in the league this season although I do feel that he is capable of more.

Player's Young Player of the Season

Eriksen is not exactly young at 24 but he did have a good season for Spurs.

Joe Hart had a good season for Man City. Szczesny finished 3rd with 15 clean sheets.

Manager of the Year

What can I say, he's a fantastic manager ;)

Team of the Season
View attachment 316475

Three of my players made it into the team of the year which is pleasing. Mata as a holding midfielder would be interesting.

Rest of Europe

Liga BBVA

View attachment 316473

Back to normal in Spain as Barcelona won the battle over Real Madrid to win the league. Disappointed to see Valencia finish 6th.

Bundesliga

View attachment 316472

Bayern Munich went unbeaten in the league this season. It seems like no other team can even challenge them at the moment.

Serie A

View attachment 316471

Juventus won the league for the fifth season in a row and no team came close to them either.

Portuguese Premier League

View attachment 316468

Benfica were the league winners in Portugal, Porto were some way off in 2nd.

Ligue 1

View attachment 316464

PSG won the league in France after spending £196m in the last two transfer windows.

Champions League

View attachment 316462

Real Madrid won what seemed to be a thrilling final.

Champions League Best Player
View attachment 316461

9 goals and 8 assists in 13 appearances, pretty decent form I would say.

Champions League Top Goalscorer
View attachment 316455

Giroud finished second despite only playing in 7 games.

Now that I have won the league with Arsenal I feel that I should move on to keep this going forward. We performed well above my expectations in the league tallying up 100 points in the end and scoring over 100 goals. I did want to challenge for the Champions League and possibly even more trophies but we failed miserably in the end. I would feel compelled to go another season and try and win everything we missed out on.

I would like to ask you whether i should:
a) stay at Arsenal and push on for even greater success?
or
b) resign and see what else opens up?

I'd resign, I remember someone else had an Arsenal FM save, they spent 3 years at the club and never won the CL.

Win Arsenal a champions league before you go ;)

I really want to win the Champions League at some point but I didn't even come close last season. There have been a few jobs that have opened up since the end of the season, Inzaghi has resigned as AC Milan manager and the Jorge Jesus has taken charge of Man United freeing up his previous job as Benfica manager.

Pellegrini has retired, which means Bayern Munich are looking for a new manager.

Great story:) I think you should save it and keep the arsenal save for yourself and develope lycock and the other youngsters and move to Italy and break juves streak. But that's just my opinion. Once again excellent work.

Hello Harry!

This is a great thread, really fun following your progress, especially as that Craig Laycock is in fact me! By way of verification, if you click on my profile my favourite club should be Preston North End and my place of birth Preston too.

I am an employee of SEGA (I work on the Total War series) and the guys at SI put me in there (although I could never have imagined I'd turn out so ace, what a player!)

Clearly they've seen me play.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for posting. I still haven't come across myself in the game! Oh, and if you join another club, take me with you :)

A.C. Milan finished 10th last season but were only six points off of 4th place as the league table was very tight from 2nd through to about 12th. The board expect me to qualify for the Champions league which should be achievable if I can bring the right players in, there is a base for a very good squad at the moment but they are aging.

A lot of players are leaving for free at the end of the season (Torres, Montolivo, Muntari) and none of them are worth resigning as they all demand ridiculous wages and there are much better players out there who I can bring in.

Loving the story mate, helping me get through my dinners at work! You've absolutly smashed both leagues so I have gotta ask... any chance you can screen shot the tactics you use? ;)

Roy stepped down after England were knocked out in the quarter final and I couldn't resist the opportunity to guide my home country to some success (hopefully).

View attachment 315342

They expect me to qualify easily for the World Cup group stage and I expect us to as well as the current squad is pretty decent.

View attachment 315334

Most of the good players are still fairly young and will hopefully improve over the next two years.

View attachment 315333

This is probably what my favoured eleven will look like. Some players have been preferred over others for obvious reasons but ultimately they will be judged on their performances.

Preseason

View attachment 314432

Preseason is finally over after I had to play through it twice after the game unexpectedly quit and I lost all of my progress. It began with a couple of friendlies in Italy followed by a tour of China, then a friendly cup at The Boleyn Ground (which we won). An excellent preseason came to a disappointing end as we lost to Juventus, they scored three early on but we only managed half a comeback in the second half as Menez missed a penalty.

Transfers

Outs

Tons of fringe players left or were sold as they were eating up a lot of the wage budget and did not benefit the club in any way and I'm still trying to get rid of a few. The first big out was probably Honda, I decided to sell him as he was on a big wage and there were better players available. You may be surprised to see that Diego Lopez left the club but he told me that he wasn't happy in Italy and there was no way I could keep him at the club so that was a forced sale. There were no other notable departures but De Sciglio nearly went to PSG for £40m before I noticed that I only get to keep 30% of the transfer revenue so there was no way he was going. El Shaarawy wanted to leave when Barcelona came in but I forced him to stay and just about every other decent player didn't want to hang around either but I convinced most of them to stay.

Ins

Thorgan Hazard - Free
View attachment 314430

If he can be half the player his brother is that would be great. I expect him to be an important player for us this season playing in that CAM position that has featured two of my best players in my last two seasons.

Nick Powell - Free
View attachment 314429

He's a decent player and snapping him up on a free was a good piece of business I feel. I haven't decided where he will fit in yet but he will probably be a rotation option.

Andrea Belotti - £4.8m
View attachment 314428

I felt like we needed another striker as Giovinco and El Shaarawy didn't seem like the perfect fit upfront. This lad probably isn't the best and will probably never be the best but he was cheap and looks like he could do a job.

Markus Henriksen - £11m
View attachment 314427

I feel like I overpaid here but he looked like a really good player and perhaps he will be. He will probably start alongside de Jong in the centre of midfield as my deep lying playmaker.

Ryan Bertrand - £2.5m
View attachment 314426

I needed another left back and I feel like this was an okay deal. He's not an amazing player but he's more than good enough to be a backup left back.

Andrea Consigli - £5m
View attachment 314425

This is who will replace Diego Lopez and I think he will be just as good while being five years younger too.

Marcos Rojo - £5.25m
View attachment 314424

I desperately needed to replace my aging centre backs and this guy was transfer listed by Man Utd. His wages are a little high but he's a good player and should do the job for us.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa - £7.75m
View attachment 314423

Another centre back was in order and this guy was probably the best player available to us so I signed him up.

My first competitive match as Milan manager was a Italian Cup tie against Serie B side Ascoli. I fielded a relatively decent side as I didn't fancy looking like an idiot and losing my first match to a team much poorer than ourselves. We didn't really dominate the match and the opening goal was scored by Bertrand as he curled in a freekick. El Shaarawy scored the second after from a corner that was whipped in by Bertrand. They scored after the whistle should of been blown for half time which was frustrating but we put the tie to bed after Rami's shot was deflected in for an own goal.

Our first league match of the season was at the San Siro against Udinese. Hazard was brought down in the box and Menez scored the resulting penalty. Consigli put in a great performance on his debut to keep us in the match as he made numerous saves from one-on-one situations. It wasn't until the last ten minutes that Menez found the net again to give us a 2-0 win and Bonaventura scored in the final minutes to make for a pleasing scoreline.

Transfers

Tonny Trindade de Vilhena - £11m
View attachment 314089

I thought we needed something special in the side and I saw this lad was a star for The Netherlands at the Olympics. His £11m release clause was too good to resist so I freed up the funds and made it happen. Hopefully he will be a star in this side and he still has room to grow.

View attachment 314088

Apparently I spent a lot of money in this transfer window but it was definitely necessary as the squad was old and below average. I don't know if I'm happy or not with my signings but hopefully they can prove themselves to me. A couple of them were bargains and one or two were perhaps unnecessary, there are a few areas that I failed to address and some areas where I should of brought in better players. Anyway, we'll have to work with what we have now.

Juventus have made their string squad even stronger this season with some very good signings and Inter Milan have signed a very good player in Feghouli on a free.

vs. France
View attachment 313832

My first match in charge of England came against rival nation France. They were the favourites and I wasn't feeling too optimistic as the team hadn't played under me before. It was an even match but Walcott and Welbeck linked up smoothly with a one-two and Walcott finished it off to give us the lead shortly before halftime. Rooney scored our second in the 57th minute to put us two up. I thought we would cruise to victory but Benzema pulled one back to make for a tight game. Fortunately we held on for a very important win.

vs. Poland
View attachment 313829

The team really clicked at Wembley as we thrashed Poland 6-0. We were always in control of the game as Walcott opened the scoring after just four minutes. A brace from Chamberlain and goals from Rooney, Welbeck and Milner completed the route.

Player of the Internationals

Chamberlain was our best player for the two games as he was man of the match in both while scoring two and assisting two more.

First up was a trip to Parma, where I felt confident that we would get the three points. It wasn't long before new signing Trindade de Vilhena opened the scoring. Another new signing, Belotti, scored our second and his first for the club. Trindade de Vilhena then scored his second and we were cruising at 3-0 up. El Shaarawy then scored a minute later to make it 4-0! Annoyingly, they put one in the net to end our hopes of a clean sheet. El Shaarawy and Belotti both scored their second goals of the game in the second half.

The match against Genoa was a thriller, for the fans at least. First Hazard scored from close range. Then de Jong fired a penalty in the top corner shortly before Rami scored from a corner. I thought we were well on our way to another resounding win but Babacar pulled one back for Genoa before halftime. The second half began and my teamtalk was obviously awful as Moralez scored a screamer to put them within reach of us after being 3-0 down. it wasn't long before Babacar struck again to completely wipe out our lead. I couldn't believe what had just happened so it was an immediate triple substitution and Giovinco came to the rescue with ten minutes left to give us the win.

Our rollercoaster performance was followed by a trip to the Olimpico to face Roma. This match had everything, even more than the previous one. Dzeko gave them the lead after he beat one of my defenders to the ball. Bonaventura equalised just before halftime and I felt we were back in with a chance. Belotti put us in the lead five minutes into the second half but it doesn't seem like we're capable of holding a lead as Dzeko scored again five minutes later. Bertrand gave away a penalty in the 70th minute, which Dzeko scored to seal his hattrick. Alex was sent off after a stupid tackle and Pjanic scored from the freekick. It was pretty much all over but Belotti scored another in the last minute for it to end 4-3.

vs. Roma
View attachment 313190

Our month was summed up by our performance against Juventus. We gifted them a goal as Rami's awful backpass left our 'keeper stranded and Giroud put the ball into an empty net. We made a costly mistake that you can't afford to make against a team like Juve. Belotti scored the all important equaliser just before halftime. It was a quiet second half but both teams can alive in the last ten minutes as Giroud scored again (seems like he had something to prove). Giovinco came off the bench against his old team and proved himself a supersub as he scored to cancel out their lead again. Our attacking performances have been great this month but we've been dreadful at the back as my defenders just seem to make too many mistakes, hopefully they will work together soon and we can find some constant form. However, we do face Napoli next...

Player of the Month

Belotti had a good month for us as he scored five goals for us and proved that he's capable of providing on a big occasion with two goals against Roma (although we lost) and one against Juventus.

League Table

Very early days and I'm not too bothered about the table at the moment. Hopefully we can go on a good run soon.
