This is my first and will be my only story so go easy on me guys.

Chester announce unknown Wood as manager.

Chester City Football Club has announced the appointment of John Wood as first-team manager.

Wood, 33, is a former player with The Red Lion but is best know for his years of experience as a factory worker.

His most recent roles include Programme seller at the riverside stadium, home of his beloved Middlesbrough FC and dressing as mascot Rory the lion for children's party's.

Bob Gray, managing director of Chester City FC, says: "We’re absolutely delighted John has agreed to join Chester City as manager and he was our last,i mean first choice for the position.

"John brings with him a wealth of football knowledge, experience and contacts gained throughout a varied and unsuccessful career doing nothing significant.

"We’re confident his passion and expertise will help Chester City claw back our 25 point deficit and avoid relegation. The future is bright but we need fans to get behind the club and the new manager."

Rick Astley, president of the Chester City supporters club said "we the fans are totally underwhelmed" after he stopped crying uncontrollably he went on to say "just when we thought things could get no worse at the club we appoint this clown as manager" Astley then broke down and had to be comforted by his wife and friends.

The pressure is on and wood is up against it.

Looking forward to this JP. Will be a tough first season though. Good luck. I also love the 'broke down uncontrollably in tears bit!'

I'm definatley following. On FM09 with Rotherham I survived their point deduction with ease so I reckon you should be able to do the same and more with Chester. Good luck

Good Luck JP.

Sure you will do just fine. Will you be using one of your tactics that are on FM-Base or have you made one for this game.?

Im going to try my 41212 tactics and see how it goes.Ive loaded up the Blue square north and south in case i get relegated.25 points is a big deficit.

Never seen you make a story story before, I'm sure it will be good. Good luck JP

Hmm, yeah good idea but i am sure you can do it.

Sure you already know this but if you buy players with a lot of pace it will help you loads.

And in January you can sign Ivan Campo

Well after viewing my squad im desperately going to have to buy DMs and AMs if im going to play 41212. Better get looking through the loan markets and free transfers because i haven't a bean to spend.

Make sure you get a parent club, and i made this mistake if you get lets say Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd and Derby

Most people would go for one of the big clubs cause they think aha yes better players but you are in BSP and they will not want to come with you where as if you get a team in Championship, league 1 you have more chance in signing some players on loan and improving your team.

Chester already have Man City as a parent club :D

Aha....Well that is not that bad i suppose, but will any of there players come to you on loan? I had Man City as my parent club at York and not one player would come to me:S

cant remember u ever doing a story, good luck though its gonna be real tough to get rid of that 25 points

JP, I've done this mate, great challenge, really enjoyed it. I'll be following with interest, if you ever need any tips mate!

good luck JP, if citeh are your parent club, try clayton mcdonald and keiran trippier, and donal mcdermott

John Wood has today astounded Chester fans by announcing the capture of 45 year old French legend Jean Peirre Papin.wood was delighted with the capture of the former AC Milan superstar and said "he may be 45 but he still knows where the goal is" Chester fans where less than amused though with one commenting"what the **** is going on? the guy is older than my Grandad"
