MATCHES 21-25 update

York Vs Chester 0-0 draw :D

Chester went into this game at top of the table York as clear underdogs.York were flying in the BSP but Chester proved they where no mugs. The match was played on a quagmire (giggidy giggidy) of a pitch which certainly suited Chester's direct style better. They reduced York to just 2 decent efforts although Chester didn't manage a single shot at goal the whole game.A terrible advert for football but Wood was clearly pleased at FT,he was the only one still awake.

Tamworth Vs Chester 0-0 draw :S

Wood and his Chester team followed up last weeks snore fest at York with yet another this week at Tamworth,in fact there are rumours circulating that Chester will be sponsored by Silent Night Beds next season. In a thoroughly uneventful game it was only my half time pie that was worth a mention.Wood wasn't too happy with the result saying "this was a game we could of won" Yes John, agreed, and you might of had a chance had your team bothered to play any football.

Port Vale Vs Chester 2-1 loss (after extra time) :) FA Cup 1st round replay

Chester where certainty's for defeat tonight in this FA cup 1st round replay. Port Vale took the lead after 30 mins when Lloyd Dodds scored a diving header, much to the annoyance of John Wood who was then involved in a heated exchange with Port Vale mascot Boomer the Dog,the 4th official had to break the scuffle up and Wood was duly Booked. Lloyd Ellmas calmed Woods temper in the 40th min though as he rifled in a shot from all of 12 yards and make it 1-1.Chester hung on to that score until the FT whistle and had chances to win it.In extra time though Lloyd Dodds struck again to break Chester hearts.Wood was pleased with the effort though.

Chester Vs Altrincham 3-0 win :D

Chester manager John wood called on his team to pick up where they left off at Port Vale and win today's game.Wood wasn't disappointed as the played a lack luster Altrincham off the pitch. In a very one sided game Anthony Barry opened the scoring on 4 mins with a super finish.Chester continued to press and doubled their lead on 12 mins with a nice Sheridan free kick.Neil Ashdon completed the scoring on 38 mins with a simple tap in.Wood said after the game "we were brilliant today,we could of had 6 or 7 easily"

Stevenage Vs Chester 2-1 win :$

Chester made it 2 straight wins today but where very lucky to do so. The first half was a none event and it wasnt till the 51st min that the scoring started,Lee Bolan scoring from the spot after a clear foul. This sparked Chester into action and on 76mins Nick Chadwick scored a deserved equalizer. The game went deep into injury time when Chester where awarded a dubious pen and Lloyd Ellmas slotted home in the 95th min much to the anger of Stevenage fans.Wood wouldnt be drawn on commenting on the pen after the game simply saying "we fought like Hedgehog's and deserved to win"

Nice way of doing your story. Match reports i actually want to read. Love the emoticons

Chester in takeover talks!!!!

John Wood was given a transfer embargo today as Chester City entered into takeover talks with the Fans Trust. Speaking on Sky Sports news Wood said "the sooner this is sorted the better,im already doing my job with one arm tied behind my back, now some one wants to tie my shoe laces together too"

These are indeed tough times for Wood who has performed admirably since taking charge even if his methods have raised an eyebrow or two.Hopefully the takeover will benefit Wood and most importantly Chester in the long run.

Ooo, Chester City the new Man City of the BSP? ^^)

Great read and good luck with your takeover.

MATCHES 26-30 update

Chester Vs Eastbourne Boro 4-0 win |)

Chester produced there best performance of the season to beat Eastbourne 4-0 at the Deva Stadium today.Adam Kay opened the scoring on 10 mins benefiting from a lucky deflection.Eastboune's Marc Pullan scored a comical OG on 21 mins to make it 2-0 much to the delight of John Wood who ran on the pitch to shake Pullans hand,Pullan wasn't impressed though.Chris Lynch made it 3-0 with a powerful shot on 28 mins.Chester continued to dominate but didnt get a 4th until a Greg Blundell header in the 73rd min. A happy Wood said after the game "EASY EASY EASY!!!!"

Cambridge Vs Chester 3-0 loss :@

John Wood went into this match fresh from being named BSP manager of the month. On receiving his award Wood beamed"would it be possible to swap this Champagne for Vodka? im not keen on champers" Wood and his Chester team suffered the manager of the month curse though as they were well beaten 3-0. Chris Holroyd scored twice on 38 and 62 mins and Danny Crowe rounded of a miserable afternoon on 87mins. After the game Wood moaned "we were **** and got what we deserved"

Chester Vs Luton 1-1 draw :)

Chester went into this game wanting to avenge the 4-0 pasting they received from Luton earlier in the season.Chester started brightly but it was Luton who scored against the run of play in the 32nd min with a George Pilkington goal. Chester continued to ask question of high flying Luton and where rewarded on 57mins when Kevin Nicholls scored a OG much to the annoyance of his keeper who chased Nichols half way down the pitch before being restrained.A good result for wood against one of the BSP's better teams.

Forest Green Vs Chester 2-1 win ;) FA Trophy 1st round

Wood fielded a weakened team for this FA trophy game.Paul Lloyd opened the scoring on 45 mins for Forest Green with a header.Wood must have given the hair dryer treatment at HT as Chester came out with renewed vigor.Adam Kay got the equalizer on 53 mins and Nick Chadwick grabbed Chester the win on 82 mins.Wood said after the game "it was OK,but id rather of had the 3 points"

Rushen Vs Chester 1-1 draw :'(

Chester traveled to mid table Rushden today in a very winnable game. The game however was a non event for 85 min as both teams cancelled each other out, then Ben Wilkinson scored a 20 yard screamer.Wood could smell victory and even done a Peter Crouch style robot celebration on the touchline. His heart would be broken though on 92mins as Simon Downer equalized. Wood who had clearly been crying sniffled after the game "its not fair, matches are supposed to last 90 mins not 92"

Aha.........Just what i like to see, York City top of the league.

Nice work Woody 2-3 games and you'll be out of the red

MATCHES 31-35 update.

Kidderminster Vs Chester 0-0 draw :)

If anyone who has problems sleeping attended this game they would most likely of been cured with what was on show.An absolutely awful match involving mid table Kidderminster and Woods Chester team. Wood defended his teams style after the game saying" if we can stay up this season boring everyone to tears i dont care,my job is to keep Chester up"

Chester Vs Barrow 1-1 draw ;)

Wood and his Chester team went into this game on the back of yet another snorefest at Kidderminster.Today's opponents where high flying Barrow.Adam Kay put Chester in dream land on 35 mins with a wonderful chipped shot which even drew applause from the Barrow fans.Barrow were playing poorly and Chester continued to ask questions. However on 66 mins Paul Jones levelled for Barrow against the run of play.Chester where unlucky but wood was still pleased with the draw against a good side.

Chester Vs Kidderminster 1-0 win :)

Chester played Kidderminster in the League today for the 2nd time in a few weeks. The game wasn't much better than the previous encounter though.Pre match was a hit the cross bar competition which was won by a Mr Ben Dover, although he didn't look too impressed with his mystery prize which turned out to be 50% off next seasons Season Ticket. On the pitch Nick Chadwick scored the only goal of a drab affair on 14 mins with a tap in.

Chester Vs Barrow 1-1 draw :S FA Trophy 2nd round

Chester played Barrow again in a short space of time in ths FA Trophy game.High flying Barrow performed much better though against a weakened Chester team and took the lead on 5 mins with a Danny Mitchley header.Chester brought some first teamers on at HT and on 59mins sub Ben Wilkinson equalised with a nice placed shot. Replay next week.

Barrow Vs Chester 4-0 loss :@ FA Trophy 2nd round replay

Drama before the game today as kick off had to be delayed 30 mins because Chester's team coach was clamped outside The Pig and whistle pub. When the match finally kicked off Woods men where destroyed by a rampant Barrow team. Danny Mitchley opened the scoring on just 15 seconds with a run and shot.John Stewart added a 2nd on 15 mins and a 3rd on 51.Michael Pearson rounded off the scoring on 71 mins with a header. Wood fumed after the game "a terrible result, that clamp fine will cost us all and im furious about it"

The Pig and Whistle XD

Tell me that is an actual pub you drink at?

Pre match was a hit the cross bar competition which was won by a Mr Ben Dover
