well in fairness you've just lost two playmakers one of them being your star player, they're your best passers and chance creators, you might have to play a simpler game.

After more testing I am still finding the 4-2-3-1 more successful than the 4-4-2, maybe it is my players, I used retain possession and work ball into box from the start and it seems to help too.

Try giving the deep lying forward the exact same settiings as the AM would have. Forward runs,through balls etc.
 
I think I shall stick with the 4-2-3-1 as it is still working for me, and when or if I get figured out them I will make a change or two.

Guys i would rather Jp perfect his 4-4-2 tactic than him rush it then him getting stick for it.

JP, it works very well with spurs, I tweaked 4231 to 4222 formation instead of flat 442 as I just love 2 strikers up front. 2 box to box and 2 amr/aml winger and finally deep lying forward (attack) with the exact same settings to amc (attack) and poacher attack. so far i have 5 win and 1 lost (unlucky defeat to fulham away, as my team dominated with 18 shots 7 on target with 55% possession). beat arsenal and liverpool at home and man utd (0-2) away. well i tried it with me going on holiday. as I was only trying 4222 formation. I will try it now with ac milan, see how it goes.

4231 because i havent released any 442 one, so thats all speculation.

Thats bad,you should be kicking **** with Arsenal. Whats the team understanding like?

Using this tac in my Liverpool season from day one, will keep you updated :)
 
ok ive started a new game with juventus. ive changed one of the MCs to ball winning on defend duty just to solid things up abit. won first game 3-0 against chievo. let you know how i go.
 
good tactic, just have one question, how many goals did you concede during the season?
