Sure, I've only played with the current one for 3 games now though, but I can upload it somewhere if someone can tell me how to do it :P

Okay here it is. Current changes are:

- Improved Set Pieces (still not super defensively though)
- Fullback set to run with ball sometimes
- Defender Collect
- MCL makes offensive runs sometimes
- Higher closing down on MCL/MCR to try to avoid those pesky long shots (70% of goals conceded are from long shots. It's probably just my keeper being bad, but I had to try to do something about it)
- Wingers have run with ball often, more direct passing (not sure about this one yet)
- Striker has through balls on sometimes (best utilized if you have a really good striker compared to rest of team)

Yeah the through balls on often with the wingers are fine. It's the run with ball often which I'm worried about.
Feels like when I'm putting them on often they tend to run everywhere and not prioritizing through balls to the striker.
And yeah true, it all depends on your team, really.

By the way. Would it be cool if I send you the tactic I'm working on?
I wouldn't released it to public. It would be nice if you can help me out on the new settings I'm trying.
There are a couple of stuffs that needs to be decided

Hum, sure thing. Can't guarantee I'll be of any help though :P Im still having problems with mine. Gonna revert back to wingers run with ball sometimes again. I won 2-1 against pompey, but when both goals are corners, its not working right!

Cheers Aneth, will try implement this with my all english stoke team (nightmare challenge).. i'l let you knwo how i get on. kOFLOK I got a BSN team on the go aw well if u need a tester?

Allright. By the way, I just did a major overhaul to defense, so if this works out well I will update my post up there. But meanwhile, be my guest trying it out with stoke! I can guarantee corner goals, at least :D

No worries Anesth, you've been a lot of help. And I need these type of feedback. Keep em coming bro
I'll send you the tactic prob tomorrow.
I need to sleep right now lol

Well to anyone else who's interested in testing the 'beta' tactic. Just post here.
I'll pick some of you guys and PM you the tactic link.

Cheers.

First of all thanks for sticking with the tactic although it may not lived up to your initial expectation. I've been testing it with first division team so it's good that someone is testing it on Leeds. And also thanks for the detailed inputs. Appreciated.

Regarding the tweaks I mentioned (balanced mentality, fullback settings, roaming) please don't do that just yet. It hasn't really been tested out yet. I currently scratched that settings out and back to the drawing boards.

I don't open my FM right now so I'm not sure but if I'm not mistaken isn't Sanogo is a more of a targetman striker? I think a pacy, dribbling striker is more suitable for this tactic.

And yes I've been working with the flow of the MCs. I've had good results with Arsenal and Napoli though and the two MCs are performing quite well - controlling the pass and all. But yeah on some games when pressured they may seemed loss. I may need to work on that. I think the key is to keep the settings of the front three but at the same time make the other players closer to eachother - which is really an issue due to the fact that the front three have a lot of run from deep. I'm thinking about making the d-line more push up.

This is just a hypothesis. I've tested it once or twice. Try doing this.
0. Delete all the settings I mentioned earlier (mentality, roaming MCR, etc)
1. Set RFD to wingers to mixed. Make their role Advanced Playmaker - Attack. It's mainly to lower their mentality and making them closer to midfield.
2. Make sure the playmaker is MCR
3. Hold up to DMC and MCL
4. Set CB passing to shortest, DRL and DMC to 3 notch from left. MC and AMRL 5 notch from left.
5. D-line set to first notch of push up.

And funny that corner helps you a lot. I haven't really set up anything in set pieces for this tactic. :P

See how it goes. Cheers

koflok,
how to set the number 4 & 5 setting? can teach me. I try 1 to 3 and give AMRL RUN WITH BALL OFTEN very good result.

hi mate

i am not one for tweaking, don't really have a clue what i am doing, but i will be willing to try a tactic out.

i am chelmsford at the moment and absolutely flying, got an amazing team for blue square south. will keep you posted once again, this is definitely a long term game so will sort a
screenshots of top performers fixture list and table every 6 months in the game.

Great work! I loved your tactic version for the previous FM and by the looks of it, this is still great. Keep up the good work :)

i have been reading all the info on your tactic and im going to try it tonight after i have been slightly struglling to get consistant result with united (especially away from home!)
just one question, would it be wrong for me to put two up front?, as i currently have rooney, chico, berba, wellbeck, sanogo, and kadlec on my books! and to play with just one up would seem a waste of resources

Well good if it's working for ya then use that tweak.
I always encourage people to tweak the tactic to fit the team.

Looking forward for the feedback

It's not wrong since it's your game you can do whatever you want.
But regarding using it with this tactic, I would be against it since putting two strikers would pretty much change the tactic.
It's not this tactic anymore. There's gonna be parts of it that won't as it should.

You may use it tho. As I said it's your game.

I am having great results with this with Man City at the moment. I have sold most of the players you start with and brought in my own, but the thing I like about this tactic so far, is that players seem to do more interesting things / try more adventurous moves. I don't know why they do it, more than they do with my homegrown tactics, but they do! I am experimenting with a few tweaks of my own (set pieces, defending, GK distribution, and running with ball) and will let you know how they pan out - or how they don't!

Cheers for the great tactic Koflok.

Glad you're having fun with the tactic Daz. And it's great that you try some of your own tweaks.
Just share it here when you got the result. Would be great help in the development of next version.

I'm tired. Have tried different combinations of settings with mixed results.

I'm gonna upload the BETA (something I've been working on for the next update) tactic tonight and let you guys play with it.
And please help me decide these followings settings.

If you have no idea on one or two settings you can just skip it but it would be great if a lot of people decide which settings is the best.

1. Passing style front three : Direct or Mixed?

2. Run From Deep back four : Often for fullbacks and Mixed for central defender OR Mixed for fullbacks and rarely for central defender.
The reason of having them Run From Deep is to push them upfield during attack so that they can contribute in building up attacks

3. Run with ball Fullbacks : Rarely or Mixed
I want them to keep it simple and just pass to man upfront.

4. Hold up ball Fullbacks : Yes or No?
So that they don't rush kicking it forward. But it's risky to make them hold up

5. Run with ball Wingers: Mixed or Often
I prefer them to dribble a while and then slide a through ball to striker. But some have report that often makes them more dangerous.

just a quick question, you mentioned on the first page -

For Individual Training :
Striker and Wingers : Train to 'Place Shot'
For anyone who have PPM 'Shoots from Distance', train them to stop doing it.
Central midfielders : If they have 'Dribbles with ball often', make them stop. AND Train them to 'Try killer balls often'.

where do you set the above?? - i have looked in "training

koflok

Is the beta of the new tactic the same 4-1-2-2-1 formation?

Yes it's the same.
It's still this tactic by the way. I just have done major reworks and tweaks on it.

As of now it's scoring 3.5 goals / game and creating at least 5 CCCs in every match. I got some 9s and 10s as well
My striker got 13 goals and 6 assists in 8 games
Defensively, it can use some help lol

1. Passing style front three : Direct.

2. Run From Deep back four : If your having the wide two cut in, i'd have the full backs push up to support, if the wide man get tackled making a dash into the box it often gets cleared out towards any waiting full back, retaining possesion..

3. Run with ball Fullbacks : i have the full backs dribbling rarely unless there any good, depends on how short a passing game, you've got it set at, can they get a quick 1-2 with the inside midfield down the line, of play it straight ahead to the wide man.. either way a dribble prob set rarely.

4. Hold up ball Fullbacks : No. if they get tackled even with quick CB theres no cover its a free run down the line for the oppo winger.
5. Run with ball Wingers: Often, nothing like a defence on the back foot. and as with a above a tackle usually results in a ball squirming out to your midfield or full back.

Hope that helps. just my 2 cents, wahts the issue with the defence?
