Legendary Players make Great Managers... don't they?

Great thread guys, I'll be honest in the first season I was routing for 1860 as they had Fierro a FM hero for me on previous saves, but nice to see both teams battling in the top division together and doing well. Keep it up! I hope 1860 get a bit more fund to move in the market come Jan

Thanks for following mate. I can't see me getting any funds until next season though, providing we survive. Hoping that next season I'll be able to snap up Fierro too.

Really enjoying this thread, found myself rooting for both teams and getting really into it as if it is real life!

Another 3-1 victory over Plzen to help us get closer to that qualification mark for the knockout stage. A win against Panathanaikos will guarantee it in the a weeks time.

View attachment 298208
A loss against a team we are more than capable of defeating. Tiredness played a factor as we don't have a lot of depth but we really should've done better.

View attachment 298205
A great way to bounce back after the defeat to Hertha. Adlung ran riot and the Freiburg defence couldn't handle him. Three points!

View attachment 298204
We did it! That victory has sealed our unlikely advancement and the Leverkusen loanee was on fire. A great win and a deserved one.

View attachment 298203
Yet again we were tired after our last match in the Europa League. We just didn't get going and deserved nothing from the match. Disappointing.

A great month in the Europa League earning victory in both matches to gain qualification to the knockout stages with a game to spare. Unfortunately not so great in the League with both of our defeats coming on the back of the Europa League wins. I'm beginning to get a little bit worried that our small squad may struggle in the league if we continue to push in Europe. But the club needs the exposure for the extra revenue so we will do our best to continue.

Daniel Adlung - The attacking midfielder has taken the step up in class in his stride. Especially this month terrorising the defences with goals and assists alike.

Not the best way to start the month. We played well but we just couldn't get it going and just when I thought we might take a point we let a goal in within the last ten minutes. Hopefully we can move on quickly.

View attachment 298193
Another away game, another loss. Yet again it didn't seem like we played bad, we just lacked any capability of finishing the move with a goal. We seriously need to work on this or we could start slipping back down the table.

View attachment 298192
This is more like the team I know. We played brilliantly and thoroughly deserved the victory. Not a bad way to finish off a bad month.

A mixed month showing that our form away from home really needs to be worked on. At home is a whole different story. Onwards and upwards though, if we can get some points on the table in December and look good going into the Winter Break our outlook could be far brighter for the second half of the season.

Teigl has really stepped it up this month. The full back has contributed in all stages of play from defence to attack and is beginning to show his worth for the team.

Something else we can't believe we missed this.. check out Ajax's opponent in the Europa League.

And I've just had a quick search to see how they did it. What a run! And we thought Baggio's 1860 were the giant killers! (In the round before they knocked Sunderland out too).

Three wins from three against Baggio's side now in our two seasons in management. Sabitzer has been like a new signing since returning from his loan signing and shown his class with his goals.

View attachment 298102
Daniel Frahn continues to show that he is the man from the job despite competition from the likes of Sabitzer and Poulsen. I'm lucky to have a dilemma like this considering we're in our first season since promotion. Great win.

View attachment 298101
Beaten by the better side. We had good spells but just couldn't cope with their incisive passing. A loss that we will have to move on from after the winter break.

A good month this month. Two wins and a defeat against one of the top teams in the country. Hopefully with the right investment and income we will soon be able to compete with the sides from the upper echelon of the league. It's the winter break and we are now tracking a few players that are out of contract in the summer.

Even in the loss to Schalke, Kaiser barely put a foot wrong. The picture of consistency is a diamond in the team.

Leipzig are doing brilliantly since their promotion with us and have progressed dramatically compared to us in the league right now. We lossed but we didn't do ourselves an injustice as we played well and it just wasn't our day. Well done Del Piero.

View attachment 298098
A great win in the final game of the group to finish top. Rodri showed his composure and deserved his hattrick. Get in!

View attachment 298097
We really don't enjoy league matches after our trips into Europe. We played well but just couldn't get out of the blocks. We really need a bigger squad but I don't want to play players for the sake of playing them, I need quality which sadly I lack in depth.

View attachment 298096
I'm absolutely delighted with our performance today. A nice penalty save from Ortega spurred us on to grab a deserved victory.

A great victory in the Europa League over a strong Spartak Moscow side, but disappointing results in the league despite decent performances. Now heading into the winter break I really need to look into strengthening the side but with no funds, or wage budget available (£270k p/w) I'll be hoping to grab some players on loan.

Transfer News

View attachment 298088
Andreas Christensen will be joining the club at the end of the season on a free transfer. The young Dane had been scouted during his time on loan at Blackpool and our scouts are very excited and keeping an eye on his progression leaving it a no brainer to bring him in.

View attachment 298087
Nicolás Lopez is a Uruguayan International that my scouts are raving about. They believe he could make an immediate impact this season. We tried negotiating with Udinese to land him on a permanent deal this month but they're willing to see his contract up, and luckily he has chosen to join us at the end of the season.

View attachment 298080
Yannick Ferreira Carrasco is another young player that we have signed, but on a permanent deal to play for us immediately. He can play on both wings. He has technique, pace, flair.. absolutely solid stats all round. Representing the Belgian U21's on numerous occasions it won't be long before he will be called up to the first team. Hopefully after impressing for us.

Transfer News
After struggling all through the transfer window due to funds, Del Piero very kindly loaned me two of his youth prospects that have not yet made regular first team football. The deals are that I play them at least 60% of the time that they are available or they will be recalled early.

Massimo Bruno suffered a torn calf muscle in his first match and his loan was terminated due to him being out for the rest of the season.

What a way to come out of the winter break. The match was over after 4 minutes, and after that we didn't necessarily play badly but three goals were too much to come back from that early on. To top things off our new loan signing Massimo Bruno suffered a torn calf muscle and will be out for the rest of the season so we had to terminate the loan deal.

View attachment 298064
Now that is a way to answer critics! Absolute domination from start to finish, and not only was it three points but we leap frogged our opponents in the league. Great day.

View attachment 298063
We knew it would be a tough ask to beat Schalke and it proved to be. We managed to get a goal and even miss a penalty but we couldn't get going against a better side.

Not the greatest start to the month but the 7-0 win against Koln was amazing. Unfortunately losing the other two games keeps us struggling near the bottom and I have a feeling we will be down there battling right until the end.

A great team against a team above us in the league. Five goals, five different goalscorers. Great win!

View attachment 298061
Another brilliant win against top class opposition. Lady luck is really favouring us at the moment and I'm hoping it continues. We're reaching the dizzy heights of the Bundesliga and I'm hoping we will stay there.

View attachment 298060
I think we're finally beginning to show the rest of the league that we can be a dominant force. Seven goals past Wolfsburg and Daniel Frahn was absolute quality.

A 100% month of victories. A brilliant way to start up after the winter break. We really looked like we are capable of securing a European spot in the league if we continue like this.

Five assists and three goals in three games. Kaiser is quite simply amazing. The rest of the team have been following in his footsteps and he has led us to some great victories.

Being linked with the Milan job definitely shows that I'm doing something right. As stated in the very first post we will not apply for any jobs but if a tempting one comes calling it may prove too good to turn down. This could be one of those jobs, especially tempting me to my homeland in Italy. Not sure the Juventus fans would be too happy if Del Piero took charge at the San Siro though.

Nice to see that Del Piero is not the only Manager being noticed, despite my poor season so far. I politely declined the offer, as I'm hoping to steady the ship at 1860 Munich.

Another defeat to add to our collection, but yet again we didn't play badly and deserved more. We just lacked the quality to put the oppositions defence to the sword.

View attachment 297820
Yet again we shown that we can play with the bigger teams in the league but we just don't have any luck on our side and continue to slip down the table. Milik had a great game.

View attachment 297819
Starting to become a habit now, and I starting to sound like a broken record. We deserved more but we just can't keep the opposition at bay. Again our loanee Milik had a great game, but with six clear cut chances we really should be taking more opportunities.

View attachment 297818
We played magnificently against Villareal who are currently third placed in La Liga. A 90+1' minute goal rescued a draw and has set us up well for the home leg.

View attachment 297817
For the first time in I don't know how long we have won an away league game, and just days after a Europa League match to top it off. Milik again on the scoresheet as he proceeds to keep Rodri out of the side.

View attachment 297816
With Milik tired from the recent run of games I reinstated Rodri and it paid off straight away. Unfortunately we couldn't match our performance in the first leg and succumbed to a 2-1 loss and a 4-3 aggregate defeat.

View attachment 297785
This was pretty much a six pointer. Mainz are battling at the bottom of the table with us and we really needed a victory.

We are really beginning to struggle in the league but the loss in the Europa League could prove to be somewhat fortuitous if the extra rest we are getting can somehow keep us fresh for our remaining fixtures. We're going to need all the luck we can get.

A good 2-0 victory to add to our recent run of good form. Kaiser was on form again and has once again proved his worth to the side.

View attachment 297778
A hard fought victory over a side who I expected would be a little easier to beat but they really were resilient. They look like a good bet for survival if they continue like this.

View attachment 297776
I can happily call this season a successful one after this result. In the return at the start of the season we suffered a 7-1 defeat, but to keep a clean sheet and watch Kaiser dictate everything was a joy to behold.

View attachment 297775
From the euphoria of the victory over Bayern to letting in a last minute goal against Leverkusen was disappointing. It brought our six match unbeaten run to an end, and we very much want to move on straight away.

View attachment 297774
Quite simply, Dortmund were the better team. We got a draw from the match so we did well in that aspect but we are capable of a better showing than that.

I can categorically say this has been my favourite match in management so far. The defeat of Bayern Munich was completely unexpected and will stick in the minds of the fans for a long time to come. Because of these performances we have climbed the table and look like serious contenders for European Qualification.
