Real Madrid for the win of course. Barcelona is indeed very good team, Messi - Villa/Ibrahimovic - Pedro looks very scary..

But Madrid has now Mourinho and Carvalho, Khedira, Di Maria. Mourinho's style of play will ensure victories for Madrid over Barca.

Just because he did it at Inter(beating Barca), doesn't mean he will at Barca. Barca are the best team in the league by a distance ATM(in terms of recent trophies), and Real are on a barren spell. barca have hardly changed their starting XI, and Real need to rely on Kaka and Benzema to prove themselves.

Personally I don't think either of Barcelona or Real Madrid will win Liga BBVA this season because Sporting Gijon have the epic player known as Mate Bilic.

The thing is, some of the players have been accused of match-fixing, so they may be relegated before the start of the season. HERE.

*dies a little inside*. I honestly hope that they are cleared of the charges and aren't relegated back to Segunda =[.

I reckon Barca will get the title, but it is going to be close.

Barca's frontline is perfect, especially with arguably the World's best striker playing for them now. Yaya has gone, but they signed Adriano from Sevilla, who is a similar type of player, and it only took a third of the cash the got from City. Bojan started well, but seems to have slowed down in his progression, but Sergio and Pedro are outstanding.

Real have some exciting options, but it's whether Jose can get Kaka, Benzema, and Ronaldo to play at their best. Carvalho, di Maria, Canales and Khedira are top signings though.

Getafe have lost Soldado to Valencia, but the usually come good, and are entertaining to watch.

yeah Soldado should be a decent replacement for Villa, obviously not on the same level.

Bojan has been very hit and miss, the later half of the season though he looked like filling the promise.

Mallorca are in admin Kris. They went into administration and were then expelled from the Europa League because of it and Villarreal have now qualified in their place.

All that hard work last season down the drain as they get no reward.

I know, they had to make the champions league to avoid it, it's **** because they were great to watch last year.

Might start watching LIGA BBVA a bit more, never really gave it a chance, I've always wanted to watch Getafe for some reason.

You really should, especially Getafe. La Liga is a far more open and technical than the English game.

Even when Real clearly weren't playing that well together as a team, and had Pellegrini as manager, they only missed out on the title by 3 points last season... not a very big distance apart :P

He cant do anything at Madrid, Mourinho might be "best manager" in the world, but his football sucks, he will try to defend the whole match, and score 1 goal from the counter. just like the champions league.

asique eres de espana, que vien saber que ayi otras personas aca que hablan espanol

It is going to be scarily close this season. Barca for me just ahead of Madrid. Massive fan of La Liga myself, El Classico is going to be insane.

¿De donde eres tú? Yo también soy español.

I agree.

I think the team ill be keeping an eye on this season is sporting Gijon, they play amazing football.

Stu when are you updating the OP.

Lets talk more about Atletico de Madrid... i want a big surpirse this year, so lets see how is the match against inter

Atletico maintain most of the good players of last season and they have reinforced their defence pretty well, in my opinion.
They should not suffer at the beginning of the season as last one.

Anyway, I don't expect them to win Inter. I'd be happy if they do, anyway.

Atlético de Madrid

3rd would be great. Forlan for the Pichichi!

Kanoute gives Sevilla Super Cup edge over Barca

MADRID, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Luis Fabiano netted the equaliser and Frederic Kanoute struck twice to earn Sevilla a 3-1 comeback victory at home to a second-string Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Saturday.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic poked the La Liga champions in front in the 20th minute of Spain's traditional season opener at Sevilla's Sanchez Pizjaun stadium, before Fabiano levelled for the King's Cup winners just after the hour.
Substitute Kanoute fired the hosts in front with just over 15 minutes left and nodded a second in the 83rd to put the Andalusians in a strong position ahead of the second leg next Saturday at the Nou Camp.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola opted not to take any of the eight members of Spain's World Cup-winning squad to Sevilla, also leaving World Player of the Year Lionel Messi on the bench and including several youth-team players in his starting line-up.
Local media have speculated Ibrahimovic will leave Barca before the transfer window closes at the end of the month but Guardiola deployed the burly Sweden striker at centre forward on a sweltering night in Seville.
He went some way toward silencing his critics when he sprinted on to Maxwell's curled pass and slipped the ball low past goalkeeper Andres Palop.
Sevilla looked much more dangerous after the break and had a deserved equaliser when Fabiano ran on to a pass from new signing Luca Cigarini and slotted through the legs of Barca goalkeeper Mino.
The Brazilian striker, who Olympique Marseille are attempting to lure to Ligue 1, pointedly grabbed the Sevilla shield on his shirt as he celebrated.
Kanoute flicked the ball high into the net from Alvaro Negredo's cross to put Sevilla ahead before heading powerfully home from Diego Perotti's cross as Barca wilted.
"We suffered a bit at the start but we played a very good second half," Kanoute said in a television interview.
"But they were missing a lot of players and we'll have to be very careful in the second leg," the Mali striker added.

Updated OP with all transfers etc.

I really want to see Mallorca do something this year. They had a great season last time round and they should capitalise on it.

Although,it could be very hard to do so when they lack in transfer funds.
