There was a few players who stood out as Player of the Year, Sakho and Shawcross both enjoyed good seasons and were excellent at the heart of our defence, Santon was very good both defensively and going forward, on either flank, at full back. Daniel Sturridge was probably closest to this award, racking up twenty five goals, scoring plenty of important goals as well but the Player of the Year award has to go to Luis Suarez, his 200k per week deal warrants that of a world beater and he is. He totaled twenty goals and seventeen assists over the season, he scored important goals, was named as one of the best players in the world and ultimately contributed more than anyone in the side.

The young players mentioned in the Player of the Year above, Sakho, Sturridge and Santon, I won't mention but Sterling and Coutinho are even younger and both had fantastic seasons, they'll both continue to progress and they have the quality to be world stars. Daniel Sturridge enjoyed a fantastic season but his consistency let him down on quite a few occasions, so my Young Player of the Year has to go to Davide Santon, I was expecting good things when I signed him, but he surprised me, he's definitely been our most consistent player and that's why he's beaten Daniel to this award.

There was a huge amount of players leaving the club this summer, lots of them were either deadwood or players who just weren't good enough to play in the side. Enrique and Dyer and Reina, were perhaps the only big first team players who got shipped out but don't worry I'm more than happy with the players I brought in.

View attachment 369973

Ryan Bertrand is my replacement for Jose Enrique, Jose is probably slightly better at this point but Bertrand has four years on him and he'll be much better for the future. Speaking of the future, Will Hughes, George Throne and Sam Byram are all still very young but they all have great potential, don't expect them to play every game but they'll play more as the seasons go by.

View attachment 369956I'm sure you've all heard Liverpool spent £4M on Rickie Lambert, in real life, just last week. Well with Southampton getting relegated, in FM, I couldn't help myself raiding their best players. Unfortunately their asking prices for a handful of players were extremely high but Rickie Lambert for 1M is an absolute bargain. I couldn't resist trying him out on FM, I can't wait to see what he can do, in real life as well.

View attachment 369961
From one raid to another, West Brom also got relegated, so we picked up Youssouf Mulumbu for a solid 5.75M. Lastly there not new signings officially but they may as well be. Tiago Ilori and Suso come back from loan and will slot straight in to my side. I expect my cheapest signing to be my best, Rickie Lambert, as for the others well watch those three young English lads, they'll be great, I'm sure of it, the rest are rotation players.

View attachment 369960
I had to mention this because it was such a shock, Incredibly Cameroon lifted the World Cup, what a shock that is, even on football manager! Beating off Spain, France, Uruguay and Argentina to win it, wow, if there's a shock like that in real life, at the World Cup, we're all in for a treat.

View attachment 369959
A decent batch of friendlies, we started off slowly and then found our rhythm against the smaller teams. One for is for sure, Rickie Lambert scored nineteen goals in seven starts in pre season, he will definitely be starting the first game of the season.

View attachment 369958
Next time we'll start our second season in charge of Liverpool, we can open with more silverware, playign Cardiff in the Community Shield and we can hit the ground running in the league with some winnable opening games. There might be some late drama in the transfer window.

I started to reread your post when I read, shame to see you pip united to the title, haha! I understand, given you're a United fan. Thank you and it's great to see a United fan following!

when everyone is fit, what is your first 11 plus bench?

Well I've made some new signings now, did you want to see my current top eleven and bench or last seasons, top eleven and bench? I can post both if you like.

View attachment 369675The opening game of the season and we could get off to a flyer by winning some silverware, Cardiff stood in our way. We contained Cardiff really well in this game, controlling the match and rolling out comfortable winners in the end. Lambert scored on his debut, Shawcross added the second, Johnson picked up an injury that will keep him out of the next game, away to Swansea, that win is a a great kick start to the season.

View attachment 369674
Santon picked up a short term injury midweek. so Sam Byram will make his debut, I would of liked to ease him in slower. To be fair he coped really well, putting in a solid performance, as did Coutinho scoring twice and playing a magnificent game, it was a similar game to the previous one, we controlled the game really well and ran out clear winners.

View attachment 369673
Santon still wasn't quite fit for this one but Johnson was, I put him back in ahead of Byram. It was the Coutinho show yet again, scoring twice and assisting the other goal, great start to the season for him and he's made our start to the season great as well.

The groups for the Champions League were drawn, of course we returned for the first time in four seasons. Despite winning the title we're still third seeded, with that in mind the draw was kind to us, handing us A.C. Milan, Schalke and Celtic. I have confidence we can win this group. Unfortunately the Capital One cup draw wasn't kind to us, handing us a tough away game against Crystal Palace, I wanted to let a few of the youngsters get some game time so I was hoping for an easier tie.

View attachment 369671
Next up we play the first of the newly promoted sides, QPR at Anfield. They shocked us with a jammy opening goal but from then on it was all Liverpool, some wasteful finishing saw us go in at the break at 1-1 despite dominating the game but what a reaction from the team! As we scored three goals in eight minutes, at the start of the second half, Coutinho yet again putting in a man of the match performance, with two goals and one assist.

View attachment 369670
There was no news on any late minute transfer deals, but we will take a look at the other transfers in the Premier League. City as always spent plenty of money, the three biggest transfers this summer, will all be tough players to compete against, Strootman and Peruzzi were on my shortlist but we didn't have the money the bring them in. As for Lucas, well he's still upset about not being aloud to leave but I'm sure he'll get over it and come back strong for this season.

View attachment 369657
A great start to the season for us, we started of winning silverware, as we beat Cardiff to the Community Shield, and we continued that with three more comfortable wins in the league. Next time we'll return to the Champions League after four seasons out of it, We'll also start our defence of our Capital One Cup crown and continue our league campaign, as we play four away games.

View attachment 369669

View attachment 369391A tough game up next, probably the first real difficult test of the season, playing away to Spurs. It was an incredibly tight game, either side could of won it but it was a Shawcross goal that won us the game in the end, that's a big three points.

View attachment 369396
Lucas has got over himself after the transfer window closed, unfortunately I've forgot to register him for our Champions League squad because he was sitting in the reserves. He'll just have to play domestic games for now, hopefully we can make it in to the latter stages and he can play. Anyway we open our Champions League campaign, playing away to Celtic, four changes ahead of this one, including first starts of the season for Suso and Sturridge.

We dominated the game in the end, they got a man sent off early in the game, so we possibly could have dominated the game a little more and scored a few more goals but we got the job done nonetheless, good start to our campaign.

View attachment 369395
Sunderland away up next and more changes ahead of this one. Despite the 2-0 scoreline, we allowed Sunderland far too much of the ball and the chances in this one but not for the first time in this story, clinical finishing is the difference.

View attachment 369394
More rotation again ahead of this one, we completely dominated this game, incredibly Palace had one shot and scored from it, we had sixteen and plenty of chances but unfortunately only managed to score twice. Coutinho came on in the second half but frustratingly got sent off six minutes after coming on, after such a great start to the season, that's a really poor tackle and he rightly got sent off.

View attachment 369393
A good solid run from the team there, we won all four games, perhaps the only negative is we didn't score more but that away victory over Spurs was a great win. Next time we'll have a huge game against rivals United and a difficult test as we play Schalke in Europe.

I forgot to mention, obviously I posted screenshots of Lambert and Mulumbu but if you want to see any more screenshots of our new signings, let me know and I'll post them up.

View attachment 369003Huge game coming up next, probably one of the biggest this season, United at Anfield, Coutinho is suspended but apart from that we have a full strength squad. We were really poor in the first half and needed vast improvements in the second, we did, with goals from Lambert, Suarez and Sturridge we come up comfortably winners in the end. Great win and it's great to get the victory over our rivals.

View attachment 369004
Schalke come to Anfield next, I was a little surprised to see they were favourites for this one, I guess we'd been out of the Champions League longer than I thought. Anyway we just about edged the game, winning 2-0 in the end, with goals from Gerrard, in his first start of the season and another from Shawcross.

View attachment 369005
With games coming thick and fast, again there was plenty of rotation here. We struggled to find an opening for a long time but Luis Suarez came on and put away two penalties to win us the game in the end. We could of done it easier but we won the game, that's the important thing.

View attachment 369006
Tottenham sacked their manager Guus Hiddink, after the season is just getting started, that's their second manager sacking in the last eight months, previous Spain manager, Vicente Del Bosque takes over.

View attachment 369007
View attachment 369008
Some of our players got a much needed rest in the International break as we face Stoke next, I was expecting a tough game, playing away and Stoke had made a good start to their season. It was anything but, Jordan Henderson scored a superb volley from twenty yards to open the scoring, Daniel Sturridge went on to score twice, as the game was put to bed at half time. That's how it finished, I was really surprised we made such light work of that but that's a credit to how good this team is.

View attachment 369002
Another great run from the team, that makes it twelve wins out of twelve so far this season, it could hardly of started better and I'm surprised to see us doing so well, surely we will have a sticky patch soon but hopefully the wins keep on coming. Next time we'll play our toughest game in our Champions League group, playing Milan in Italy and we'll also play a huge game against United in the next round of the Capital One Cup.

View attachment 369001

View attachment 368999A.C. Milan is our next game, away from home. They were favourites for this one and I was expecting a close one. Despite the scoreline, it was a really close game, we perhaps slightly edged the game and 3-1 definitely flatters us. Having said that, I'll take it, Gerrard came off the bench to score his second of the season so that's two goals in one start and one substitute appearance. Despite having a dreadful season, last season, those performances warrant a chance to play more regular football, I'll be giving him that chance.

View attachment 368998
Gerrard gets a chance as he continues in the side, tons of changes ahead of this one, as we rest our key players for the United game midweek. We did start with the SAS though and they come up trumps in the end, both scoring as we cruised to victory in a game that could of seen more goals.

View attachment 368997
So with those players being rested against Reading, I named the best side I could, United named probably named seven first team starters and rotated the rest. With that in mind, I was confident for this one, it was really close for the first half hour and then we turned it on, 3-0 at the break, the game was over. Kagawa brought a consolation goal back and Sturridge went on to score his second, as we dominated the second half. great performance and another big win over our rivals. We can't catch a break in this years Capital One Cup draws though, as we draw Man City in the Quarter Finals.

View attachment 368995
With the games coming thick and fast, we had some tired legs in the team for this one. We had a lot more of the game and struggled to break Hull down but in the end, a Daniel Sturridge penalty was the winner, as we just about secured victory.

View attachment 368994
Lots of surprises in the top half of the league table so far this season and a few in the bottom half but it's still early days, as for Liverpool well, ten wins out of ten, thirty points and seven points clear. Like I said, it is still early days, there's a long way to go but we have to be made up with that start.

View attachment 368993
Another great sequence of results from the team, surely we can't keep winning every game, I really am gob smacked by how well we're doing at the moment. Next time we can qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League with a win against Milan, we can also cement first place by beating Celtic and we'll also play some tough league games, fortunately all four games are at home.

View attachment 368992

Great Start to the season there, congrats. Has Sterling broke into your first team yet and are u playing the SAS upfront

Thank you, it has been a great start, I'm really surprised. The SAS partnership has been working really well, unfortunately not as a strike partnership though, I like to play with one striker and have that extra man in midfield so for most of the story so far it's been Sturridge up top with Suarez on the right flank.

As for Sterling well he has been playing this season and performing really well but the form of Coutinho and Suarez on either flank, means he's mainly been used as a substitute, although he has got some starts against some of the smaller sides and when those two needed a rest.

Could u post an ss of ur training please, and how are you developing the likes of rossiter, ibe, Wilson ect....

View attachment 368381Suso has been complaining about the lack of first team football, so he starts for this one, as I rotated the squad, ready for the Chelsea, at the weekend. Suso put on a good show, assisting for our first goal as we dominated the game and should of had a more comfortable scoreline, still that win gurantees qualification for the Champions League last 16. Sturridge made that eight goals in his last six games but unfortunately he picked up an injury that will keep him out for two weeks.

View attachment 368380
So Rickie Lambert comes back in after Sturridge was keeping him on the bench. It was an extremely close game, not for the first time, we just edged it, Luis Suarez was the difference, with his clinical finishing. Chelsea had chances but it took them eighty eight minutes to find the back of the net, we survived a scary few minutes to hold out for the win.

View attachment 368379
Another game at Anfield next, as we host Arsenal. They were having a really poor season and after last season as well, I was really surprised that Arsene Wenger was still in a job, with that in mind, I was confident of the victory here. The first half was tight but Sakho climbed high to head the ball home, from a corner and then it was all Liverpool in the second half, Lambert added the second as we eased to victory.

View attachment 368378
Unfortunately Arsenal played a really dirty game, Coutinho is out for two weeks and Santon is out for a long time, 2-3 months! Those two have been really key for us this season and it's frustrating to lose them. The good news as we've signed a new four year contract extension, with the club.

View attachment 368377
That win against Milan didn't only see us qualify for the last 16, we also cemented first place in the group so we could afford to rest some of the bigger names here and give some youngsters some much needed game time. With ten changes I was expecting a close game but Celtic didn't really turn up, Sturridge made his return from injury with a goal and at half time it was 3-0 and game over. Some frustrating defending late on saw us concede a penalty, which Celtic scored from.

View attachment 368376
More wins for the team there, I keep expecting us to hit a bad run but it doesn't come, I'm not complaining, I'm just still really surprised that we're doing so well in only our second season in charge. Next time our unbeaten run, or should I see unstoppable run will take a real test, in away games against derby rivals Everton and title challengers, Man City.
