I turned the match off at 2 - 0 (was going to go but they weren't selling tickets on match day, so many empty seats as well...). McCarthy is a cracking player, love watching the lad and kudos to him for standing his ground, if he would have gone down Rooney would have been off, simple, so I think Rooney has to apologise and thank him at the same time, even if it does emerge that he gets banned. Wigan will be playing in the Championship next season but there we may just win a few games or at least get a back to back victory or two!
