Cuvelier completes £1.6m dream move:
Portsmouth hot prospect Florent Cuvelier has completed a move to Liverpool for £1.6m all upfront. Portsmouth have confirmed they needed to sell the youngster for finance problems and are reportedly still £3m in debt after selling Cuvelier. Portsmouth caretaker manager Max King was quoted ahead of the away clash with Birmingham saying - "It's a disaster that we've had to sell a player with that much potential, but that's football, and money in football has sadly turned into the biggest problem for most clubs including us. I wish the lad all the best of luck and I hope he turns into the star we knew he could become".
James ruled out for another 2 months:
England number 1 Goalkeeper David James has been ruled out for another 2 months, further putting his world cup place in doubt. James had just returned from an injury before, but now is set to see a specialist about a knee problem. With Jamie Ashdown also out for around 2 weeks, Asmir Begovic will start his first ever Premier League game against Birmingham.
Birmingham 1-2 Portsmouth (Piquionne 2): Great win and this was a game that would change the way the table might look at the end of the season. We went 1-0 down around 35 minutes in to a Larsson tap in, but Piquionne got 1 back just before half time after him and Kanu linked up well. Piquionne then got the winner for us to seal a vital 3 points after Kanu once again set Piquionne through to slot home Good performance.
Portsmouth 0-1 Huddersfield (League Cup): This was cruel. Begovic, James and Ashdown all injured for this one after Begovic picked up a virus after the Birmingham game, Kanu picked up the virus aswell when I decided not to send Begovic home to try and get him fit, and consequently lost Kanu aswell and Begovic still was unfit. Tommy Smith showed he wasn't good enough and missed countless chances, and our young keeper made a bad mistake and Jordan Rhodes tapped in for Huddersfield. Gutted and frustrated to go out like this but now we can concentrate on the league more.
Portsmouth 2-0 Bolton (Ben Haim, Boateng): Delighted with this win and it shows our game against Huddersfield was a small blip on a good run of form. 3 games, 2 wins, 1 draw, 0 losses and very pleased. Ben Haim had an early chance from a corner but nodded wide and should of really scored, but he made up for it from another corner to put us 1-0 up. Boateng smashed is a beauty of a volley late on to secure another 3 points and another great performance.
Player of the month: Kanu, he's been class in every game he's played in this season and has worked his socks off 2 assists in 2 appearances.

Hey, well here is the latest update after 10 games and I'm really pleased so far
Portsmouth 1-2 Aston Villa (Belhadj): Really unlucky not to get a point out of this, but Villa came out in the 2nd half and dominated us if I'm honest. We struggled to handle Milner and Young on the wings. Good performance even though we lost.
Blackburn 2-2 Portsmouth (Yebda, Smith): Another one of those games that where your against a team that you expect to finish near at the end of the season and we did really well here getting a point. Quite disappointed not to get 3 points as we were 2-0 up on 48 minutes, but they fought back and got a point. We were expected to lose here so I'm happy with the overall performance.
Portsmouth 1-1 Chelsea (Piquionne): Fantastic result! We were pretty much dominated but somehow took a 16 minute lead, but then 3 minutes later new Chelsea signing Tommasi Rochhi equalised and we looked like we might lose the point but thankfully we held on for a brilliant result
Fulham 1-1 Portsmouth (Belhadj): Another great result away from home against a tough Fulham side, although we were 1-0 up until 86 minutes when Aaron Hughes took away our lead with a headed goal. Gutted to not win but I thought we might get battered here. Looking a really solid team now, just need to concentrate more in the last 15 minutes of games. Need a win now though after no win in 4 games.
Portsmouth 2-0 Tottenham (Piquionne, Woodgate O.G): This will be one of the luckiest games we'll ever have with the goals that went in. Piquionne's goal was a mistake from Gomes where he miskicked it, therefore going straight to Piquionne to slot home for his 4th of the season Then the 2nd goal from a Woodgate header that was supposed to go over the bar for another corner for us, consequently looped into the top corner lol. Vital 3 points and Tottenham were crying on the way home in the coach. Always nice to beat Harry 'Saggy' Redknapp.
Arsenal 3-1 Portsmouth (Boateng): Football is a cruel game sometimes. We had plenty of chances here and didn't take them, but they took their's and consequently a nasty scoreline. Need to bounce back from this.
Portsmouth 1-1 Man United (Kaboul): Another fantastic showing against a big four side. We always seem to play well when our games are televised, e.g Fulham and Chelsea were televised Great result and we got the equaliser just before half time after new Manchester United signing Gary Cahill smashed home a volley from inside the box to give United an early lead. Another great performance and a good result to go with it.
Player of the month: Jamie Ashdown, he's been man of the match twice in 4 appearances, giving us really good quality in depth in goal. Nadir Belhadj was a close 2nd place for the award after quality performances with Piquionne coming in 3rd.
So, very happy with the performance of the team and we can definitely keep this up if we get everyone fit and don't get to many long term injuries to key players.

Harsh bout the keeper crisis. Hope you do well in the fa and do a repeat of 2008
Some great results there too. Do you think, with the form you're on, you could push for europa league football?
