check out Gareth Evans, as a lone striker, target man he rips apart defences, top scorer of league 2 in my Bradford city save, should be able to get him on a season long loan, i've been able to get him with mid-table BSN/BSS teams :)

Is Friel Back?

Keep it up Maxwell!
I can see it now, York in the epl :D

He should be IP Banned, I'll tell Sean.

December Update

Gateshead vs York

MOM - David McGurk 7.1

A big game we needed to win but we buckled under the pressure vs Gateshead and lost 1-0 in a game all of the team played pretty poorly in. The defence was unorganised for the whole 90 minutes, the midfield was losing the ball a lot and weren't getting time and space to make through balls to the strikers, so the midfield sat back and suffocated our centre backs too much, leaving our strikers and wingers stranded in attack with nothing in the middle of the park to look for in ways of options available. Poor performance and we need to do better. 23 game unbeaten run over aswell, not a good game :'(

MOM - James Meredith 8.2

A good result in the end against a good team who are having problems scoring goals as of late, although we were met by a rock hard backline that only George Abbey could score past to get us a point here. Good result in the end.

York vs Chester

MOM - James Meredith 7.7 - FA Trophy

A good win for us against a team in real trouble at the bottom of the table still on -1 points whereas we're flying high at the top of the table so far, it was certainly a tale of two completely different stories. Things could of got worse for Chester after just 17 minutes when York were given a penalty from a handball, although Shaun Saiko blazed over the bar with the spot kick, but just 11 minutes after half time York's star striker Richard Brodie passed the ball into the back of net after a ball through from midfielder Lawless to give York all 3 points in a difficult encounter against a battling Chester side.

York vs Luton

MOM - Richard Brodie 8.9

An amazing 4-0 win against certain promotion contenders, in a game we certainly didn't dominate but took the same counter approach as we have many times this season versus team's such as Cambridge in the 5-0 thrashing, and it worked once again. Decisive break aways from strikers Baheng and Brodie rewarded York with a 4-0 win with Brodie getting 2 goals, and Baheng scoring an amazing 25 yard free kick, and with Yuki Hayashi also adding another with a bullet point header from a corner. Fantastic win for us in our bid for automatic promotion.

Eastbourne vs York

MOM - Wesley Ngo Bahen 7.6

Another loss sadly in the return fixture of our first game of the season versus Eastbourne Boro. Things started off well for us in the 22nd minute with top scorer Richard Brodie putting us 1-0 up with a tidy finish, but just a minute before the interval Eastbourne were awarded a penalty after a clumsy tackle from in form full back James Meredith, which Paul Armstrong happily converted to make it 1-1 at the break. Eastbourne came out a different side after half time and didn't take long to put themselves infront with Liam Enver-Marum scoring on the 48th minute to put Eastbourne 2-1 up and resulting in the winner goal to give us our second loss of the season which have both came in December, not such a Merry Christmas for the Minster Men.

League Table..

I'm still very happy with our position in the league at the moment, but not so happy with the lack of ability to win away games in the last month, with 3 away games being played and losing 2 of them and drawing 1. Home form has stayed consistent, with a solid 1-0 win over Chester, followed by a demolishment of Luton with a 4-0 win. We're only 1 point behind with +34 goal difference, compared to Crawley's +22 goal difference who are occupying 1st place. The sooner we play Crawley again the better as it could determine who wins the league and gets automatic promotion.

Player of the month - James Meredith 7.56

After a shakey month for York, with them winning 1 league game out of 4, and winning in the FA Trophy vs Chester, it's been a mixed month, but certainly not as good as their previous month where they didn't lose a game all month and won 6 out of their 7 games in all competitions.

Have the wheels fallen off at mid-way point of the season? Or is this just a small blip in York's season which is still destined to be a great success?

January arrives soon..

Yeah I'll try but can only do as much as I can to finish 1st, not easy in this league.

i found it reasonably tough but once you get there and get 4 points clear the league is yours, if you need some late flair try tomasz cywka, i heard hes really good in llm
