Great run of form your on, especially the win over Lazio and draw with Inter!

Wish I we were on that good of a form. However it's an error; We didn't win 1-0 over Lazio the score was 1-3 it's corrected now. But yeah the draw versus Inter is a point we really shouldn't been allowed to pickup :)

Torino are aiming to try and grab a Europe spot in the league, and they are doing alright so far sitting at the 8th spot. Their form is also quite decent at DLWWL especially considering their last loss was versus Juventus, the draw versus Roma and one of the wins was a 2-1 over A.C Milan. Parma comes in with the same form but in a different sequence with LLWWD. Parma are looking good lately with an impressive draw versus Inter even tough playing 30 minutes 1 man down, and then going 2 man down due to injuries. Bookies have left the game completely open with 11-5 over all 3 results. But gives the home team Torino the favorite stamp.

Parma starts the game flying scoring after just 8 minutes of play with sending a screamer past Torino goalie Daniele Padelli. But Torino equalize shortly after with Maxi Lopez getting an easy tap in from Fabio Quagliarella. The last mentioned man not only put Torino up 2-1 but 4-1 before the teams goes into the break. Disaster have struck with Torino playing a incredibly well, and the game looks already out of hand for the Gialloblu.

Second half isn't much better really. With Torino grabbing a rather stupid long shot goal. Really how Antonio Mirante managed to let than one in is amazing. Substitute Marcus Thuram grabs 1 back, but then Torino's Barreto tucks away a free-kick. On overtime we get a penalty that Francesco Lodi takes full advantage off, but still 6-3 is not acceptable at all. I mean Christ how could they let Torino score 6 times! There will be screaming at the team after this game for sure.

Serie A - Matchday 20: Palermo vs Parma

Palermo finds themselves in the relegation zone at the 19th spot. Their form is DLWLL and a team that's clearly struggling to find the strength to survive the top flight in Italian football. Parma on the other hand have enjoyed a decent form of late with LWWDL. Despite this bookies feel Palermo has a decent chance of claiming the game with 5-4 favorable odds versus the 7-4 given to Parma. With the last option draw sitting at 11-5. Parma have a new man in their lineup on loan player Stefano Sturaro from Juventus.

With a new fresh face in the central midfield Parma starts the game off battling for possession and the right to control the tempo. But the game remains largely open during both halves. But Parma get a brilliant start to the game when Federico Bernardeschi finishes a low cross from Silvestre Varela! 1-0 after just 3 minutes of play. But right after the goal the game goes back into the match type i described first.

Nothing much else happened in the first half and the second half sadly doesn't have too much action either. Palermo is not playing to good, and Parma is not clinical today. But the defense for Parma does a solid job with Angelo Ogbonna ticking in with an impressive 8,5. 2-0 comes when new man Sturaro battles in a shot after a header is denied. Now this is a match we should win if we want to aim at mid-table so I'm happy the boys delivered, but also getting the first clean sheet in 3 games feels good.

Parma 1-2 Napoli

Parma has a record of WWDLW a impressive record for the team tipped at 17th placement by the media. Despite a good form Parma seem to test a new variant of their formation. Testing Lodi up in the attack midfielder slot. Despite meeting Napoli bookies have favored Parma to win the game with 6-4 in odds. 2-1 for a draw and Napoli gets 13-8 to take the away win. Napoli have just a tiny bit weaker recent record with LWWWL.
Napoli started the game with wanting to show the bookies wrong. And with some help from Stefano Sturaro Napoli would get a golden opportunity to take lead when Hamsik won his team a penalty. Jorginho stepped up to the penalty spot, and he did nothing wrong sending the ball 1 way and Antonio Mirante the other. however would put the game at even terms after getting his initial shot blocked. The second got blasted into the net for 1-1.

Second half saw Napoli try and take more control of the game. Parma clearly were on the end of the rope with yellow cards being issued everywhere. But it looked like Parma might just be able to strangle the game to a draw, but just as the Gialloblu started to feel safe Spaniard Michu destroyed their hopes. But the Napels Azzuri would take the game home winning 2-1. And even Parma would have to admit it was only deserved that Napoli won the game.

The Matches

I don't know quite what to expect for the Italian Cup game. Really it all depends if Juventus comes in loaded to secure passage or if they will let the squad players play the game. But what I do know is the league is favorable with 2 very winnable games. The home game versus Empoli is a must win for a team of our stature, and we should be able to really challenge Sampdoria who are having a let down of a season so far. Fiorentina is going to be very difficult, and i expect nothing out of the game.

The Injuries
View attachment 275516

I really should learn you know. Last time I talked about how we had a fit squad happened. But I also wrote about how lucky we were to avoid big injuries then bam Palladino gets him self out for up to 3 months. Seeing Mattia Cassani out is not great as he is rather decent, and our backup on the right back Lila is a bit behind. Ishak Belfodil out on top of Palladino was the reason I loaned in Federico Bernardeschi.

Team of the Month - January
View attachment 275517

A fun team of the month with Empoli player Vincet Laurini getting in there. Carlos Tevez and Rafael make a cut to yet another Serie A Team of the Month. Other than that we mainly have a Napoli centered side infused with some goods from the more prolific teams.

The January Transfers
Federico Bernardeschi
View attachment 275512

Is a young and talented multiple sided winger from Italy. Hes loaned from AFC Fiorentina out the remaining part of the season with a possible buyout of 4,3 million euros. However if Parma even can gather the funds to activate if they wanted to remains to be seen. Will mainly play in January due to winger injuries and then play until Biabiany plays himself back in, and then probably just move to cover.

Stefano Sturaro
View attachment 275511

A young talented Italian midfielder that I actually one day hope to sign. Didn't get a buyout on this guy as I was late in seeing he was listed for loan. So, didn't want to haggle with Juve and lose out on a potential amazing 6-month loan deal. My hope is to either be able to buy this man in the Summer or re-loan him with a buyout.

Im letting Jonathan Biabiany start right away in this cup match to get him ready for the Serie A faster. Now sadly it seems like Juventus are going in with the heavy arsenal to ensure passage to the semifinal. And with a recent form of WWWWW there's nothing really to suggest they will flop this game. Parma form is WDLWL and do I need to tell you guys Juventus the bookies favorite pet?

View attachment 275502

Juventus did what everyone expected of them. Taking control and taking their time to play and find the appropriate way to the goal. Everyone is surprised when Silvestre Varela lays in a low hard cross that taps into the net 1-0 for Parma on Juventus Stadium! But the dream lats way to short when Tevez equalizes just 7 minutes later with a volley just inside the penalty area. The 1-1 results would stand until the break.

The second half begins yet again with Parma making everyone jump out of their seats. This happens when Biabiany tries a cross but winds up hitting it straight into goal. But the big Spaniard nicknamed The Lion King makes it 2-2 in the 83rd minute. With the goal from Llorente Juventus are able to bring the game into overtime.

Both teams are starting to look tired and penalty's seems like really the only option. Sadly Juventus comes into the penalty like elites scoring 5 out of 5. Parma aren't quite as good and sadly it's the returning man Biabiany who misses.

Serie A - Matchday 22: Fiorentina vs Parma

Fiorentina 1-1 Parma

So here we go with an away game at Artemio Franchi the home of Fiorentina. We come in with this with DLWLL Parma aren't looking to hot right now. But Fiorentina aren't showing their full potential right now with LDDLW. Therefore bookies are a bit nice saying Parma got 7-4 for the win and 11-5 for a point. While they give the home team Fiorentina 5-4 to win it. We are back to playing this variation of a 4-5-1 because Fransesco Lodi picked up a broken wrist before in the training sessions before the game.

Fiorentina goes out with positive energy and consumes control of the game early on. They play as the better team together but the individual performances to help them push for the goal didn't show up. Parma are were more than happy sitting a bit in the wait getting to the second half without conceding a goal. Pedro Mendes and Angelo Ogbonna in the defense is playing quite well.

The second half is much similar to the first half with little creative getting done. Fiorentina both has the possession and shots on Parma so it's just fair that Joaquin finally broke the deadlock and scored in the 71th minute of the game. His goal comes after Antonio Mirante failed to hold a long shot allowing Joaquin to pounce on the rebound. With some substitute to try and shake things up Parma looks to push for a equalizer and Parma get rewarded towards the end of the game. When Silvestre Varela in the 87th minute and it's all him. After picking up a loose ball in a advanced position he dribbles past 2 players and holds another 2 at bay before firing in the 1-1 goal!

Parma will look to use their home advantage to beat Empoli yet another time in the Serie A. The reverse meet earlier in the season ended 3-2 for a visiting Parma side. Empoli recent record however is quite solid for a team in their spot with DLWLW versus LWLXX record of Parma. Bookies stamped the game as a even matchup with 11-5 odds all over the board.

Honestly first half is a complete let down with only 1 shot being on target from Empoli. But a worrying sign for Parma is that they struggled to do their play, and in fact were possession dominated by the visitors.

However second half is better. After being screamed at Parma starts to wake up and starting grab the match. The shots also start to hit on target creating in the end 3 goals in the game. First goal is credited to Federico Bernardeschi who puts away a nice lob pass from Antonio Nocerino. But Empoli legend Francesco Tavano shows up making it 1-1 10 minutes later. Parma starts piling on the pressure to collect all 3 points. The goal is found after Bernardeschi hits the woodwork on a free-kick, and Nocerino is the only one close to the rebound 2-1! This scoreline would stand out the remaining 20 minutes. This means a important home win for the Gialloblu!

Sampdoria have not lived up to their potential so far this season currently sitting at the 16th spot. Despite being tipped at 8th spot. Currently their form is a disappointing DLDDL. Parma on the other hand Parma is enjoying a really good form curve of late with WLDDW. In the reverse matchup at Ennio Tardini the game granted each team a point ending 0-0. Bookies however believe Sampdoria will continue to struggle with Parma getting 6-4 and favorites to win the game.

The first half is rather uneventful to be honest. Neither of the teams really are able to do anything proper on the offense. It's really a long battle of with possession winning tackles and ball losses happening way to much for a stable flow to happen. Seems like a screaming session in the break could help speed this game up.

Second half is like a completely different game. Almost like the first half was some type of final with neither team willing to risk being counter-attacked. It's the home team that breaks the deadlock after 55 minutes of play with bench player Gonzalo Bergessio finding the net. It takes sometime but Parma responds with smashing in a low cross from teammate Silvestre Varela. Parma piles on the pressure in pursuit of the winning goal. Stefano Sturaro have taken command of the midfield, and on a corner he heads the ball down to substitute Pedro Mendes who taps the ball in for 2-1! This happened in the 90+3 minute of the game! Thought we would have accept a tie here, but we got the lead in the end!

October had the exact fixtures just reversed on home and away. We picked up 2 points with 2 draws and 2 losses. Honestly i prefer if we just beat Chievo, and limit our loses against the 3 giants of Italian football. This could very quickly be a month to forget for the Gialloblu.

The Injuries

View attachment 274236

Palladino is still out and recently returned Jonathan Biabiany is out until sometime in April. But Varela and Bernardeschi are playing well at the moment. And to be honest with the teams we are facing I doubt having any of the longer injured players would really change much. Cassani and Mariga will both miss out on Roma but be back for the rest.

Team of the Month - February
View attachment 274232

A cool team of the month this time around! Mattia Perin knocked out Napoli goalie Rafael who had stared in the last 3 team of the months. Laurini continues to impress and I even have started to scout the man. Really weird to see Rodrigo Palacio given a central midfielder spot. Tevez makes a regular return, but it's legend Antonio Di Natale whos the big performer with 6 goals in 4 matches giving 7,58 average rating over 4 games!

Roma is one of the best teams in the Italian top flight, and their current season have them placed at the 3th spot in the league. Even tho Roma are injury riddled and defender Kostas Manolas suspended. Roma still have plenty of power with their recent form giving WWLWW. Parma on the other hand got LDDWW a rather strong form for a team of Parma's stature. The reverse game went 0-0 and Roma will be hungry to revenge the point share. Bookies also gives Roma a 6-4 odds to win it.

No surprise that Roma takes command of the game pretty much from the start. Roma plays quite well with Alessandro Florenzi playing really well and Roma is helped by a rather non-performing Parma. Giovani dos Santos takes the lead for Roma after 26 minutes of play. Our team struggle to find peace with the ball, and opportunists to make proper attacks. Most of our possession in the first half while Roma allow us to advance for a possible counter attack.

Second half begins and goes very similar to the first half. The explosive winger Gervinho puts the ball past Antonio Mirante to give Roma a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute. But after this Parma starts managing better with doing well to create possession for his team. The same man also grabs one back for Parma in the 69th minute after Andi Lila finds him on the 16 meter line. manages to turn and shoot the ball in his far left corner. With this HbG asks his Gialloblu to keep going at it in hope for a possible draw. And the game will have 1 more goal unfortunately the goal comes yet again from Gervinho. Roma wins it 3-1 at Parma's Ennio Tardini.

Our Gialloblu brothers! This is pretty much a must win match this month if we want to take points! And Chievo is the perfect team to beat as they come into the match with DLLLL only scoring 1 time in their last 5 matches conceding on average 3 goals. Parma have a solid LDWWL, and are the 5th best away team in the league. Bookies odds it at: Chievo 7-2 Draw 9-4 Parma 4-6 (Fav).

Chievo tries to play and beat Parma but they are quite ineffective while my Parma on the other hand are very punishing today. Silvestre Varela grabs us the lead after striker delivers on a silver plate in the 17th minute. Just 2 minutes later after Federico Bernardeschi is fouled inside the penalty area! It's Francesco Lodi that tucks away the penalty giving Parma a 2-0 lead. get himself on the score sheet after Angelo Ogbonna heads the ball back into the box after a crossed free-kick. On the overtime in before the pause Valter Birsa catches 1 back for Chievo making it 3-1 in favor of Parma.

After the break the game slows down quite a bit. Chievo wants to try but Parma are picking apart everything Chievo attempts. The game turns into a foul fest with Chievo desperately trying to stay together and Parma poking the bear. After 3 yellows to Chievo the game simply never comes close to more Chievo goals and the game ends 3-1 for visitors Parma!
