Mr Langvatn FM16 Tactic Center

First off I would just like to say thank you for all the work you put in to making what appears to be some truly amazing tactics (I have only used 4-5-1 Spin the Wheel so far).
While I was having some pretty good success with my own tactics for a while (16/17 2nd F.A. Cup Runner up, 17/18 2nd Reaching Champions League Semi, 18/19 2nd reaching semis in both F.A. Cup and Champions League & 19/20 4th) with a relatively unchanged Spurs side I always, always dropped off after leading the prem until around game 30.
Now in season 19/20 I dropped off so badly my job was under threat and the board hit me with a "10 points in 5 games" target. Now at first glance I was thinking this will be easy. But after realising I have just come off of back to back 2-0 defeasts to Nowhich and Crystal Palace and a 3-0 battering at Man Utd, my next 5 games was going to be tough and to make it a little harder my run in was as followed. Liverpool at Home, Burnely at Home, Fulham Away, Arsenal at Home and West Ham Away. I knew I was in for a spot of trouble. Luckily for me I stumbled accross this treasure trove of wonders, and what wonders it worked for me. I settled on trying out 4-5-1 Spin The Wheel because it was close enough to my tactics to just jump ship and run with it so to speak. I will let the screens shots tell the rest of the story.

I am now on a 20 game unbeaten run and long may it continue.

Edit: The only thing I have noticed so far while I have a large number of shots I do not seem to be creating many clear cut chances in the games but still end up scoring 3 or 4 goals.

At the end of the OP there are two images of Oi's, witch is for the new 4-3-3?

I can only assume the first image of OIs are the new ones for those tactics as I dont recall seeing them there before

MrL, first of all thanks for your amazing tactics! Big fan and having fun in my offline game with them. :)

Maybe you could test this tactic out from The Tinkerman to include in your test table (Best FM 2016 Tactics: Tinkerman's Double Trouble • FM Stories). His tactics last year also proved to be very, very good. Also, would you say your new 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1 are working better than your current 3-4-3v3?

Thanks Mr.L for the amazing tactics.

Used 3-4-3 with Zwolle and finished 5th (predicted 18th), it's a great feeling but i concede ALOT more than the bottom placed teams. Sure I won around 50% of the games, but the losses are just unbearable. I can tolerate losing 0-1, 0-2, even 0-3, but with 3-4-3 everytime I lose, I'll lose big, like 0-6 big. Feyenoord thumped me 2-9.

Anyways, got a job offered to me the next season, with Villareal now with better players (aiming for europa league). Trying the 4-3-3 since you mentioned it being more solid at the back. First game, 3-0 very nice. Second game against the lowly Malaga I just got thumped 3-6. Now the memories from Zwolle came back to me. This won't be a good season for me. I just hate to concede more than 3 let alone 6 against Malaga. I'm dreading for the day I'll meet Barcelona & Real Madrid.

Sorry for the long rant, but my question to you is, what do I do when I meet such teams? Do I just suck it up because it's too late to do anything when trailing 0-3 anyways?

Yep, just as I thought. Got trashed 2-6 against Barca. Went 0-3 down after just 27 minutes. Changed to 3-4-3, the rest is history.

I need help. As you can see, I have already conceded 15 goals in 4 matches.

Which OI should i use for the 5-3-2 Spin The Wheel?

thanks

My first feedback

I created this account to comment of Mr L tactics, I have been trying most of his tactics for my Chelsea team, and I have identify 2 most suitable tactics that won me the 1st season Premier league title.

I have been using 4-2-3-1 spin the wheel beta version and occasionally 4-4-1-1 all versions, never like the 3df formation as I finds it to leaky.

But after Mr L released the New tactic: 4-3-2-1 Asymmetrical Heavy Metal
Things were different, this formation is much more consistent and defensively it is tighter, against stronger team you can pull down your wingback but having the same setting.
I would highly encourage any team having difficulties to try out this formation and train it to fluid to get the most out of it.

I kinda missed creating tactics in my break, so I made another tactic. Currently testing it in the custom db, and it is off the charts good so far..

I can share this one when a new patch comes, cause I am going to make a new db for next patch.
I dont want an old one not working with whatever patch we are using :D I want the new and fresh one you use :D

The DB has nothing to do with patches, it will work in any patch. I will just make a new one which will be even more accurate.

Sounds sweet! either way - sign me up! I will soon have 20 weeks on the sofa = alot of time to test/make tactics

(Added to the front page)

First tactic to go undefeated! :)
(though these things can be due to rng, but its in any case a very good indication that the tactic is good!)
