Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

So if i understand correctly it doesent matter what role we put the players in because the instructions are already set in the player settings?
Does it make a difference if i set the strategy to anything other then overload?

What do you think about wanyama and lars bender for the dmc spot in the 253v2 tactic? Should i sell them and look for more creative technical players in that position?

Roles matter, cause they add something more to the player's responsibilites. Changing strategy only affects the passing then. Most types of players work in DMCL and DMCR. Just set training to "Central Midfielder".

I have Wanyama in my newcastle side and he is awesome on either side of dmc. not the central one though (playmaker). scores quite a lot too.

Mr L, what do you do if you get a man sent off in the 253v2? made the mistake of signing too many players in january and since, getting a lot of red cards.

Saw somebody earlier mentioning couldnt find cheaper strikers? look for younger not fully developed strikers. Tony Watt from Celtic is awesome in any position upfront and carlos Fierro is good too. Another good choice is Michy Batshuayi.A little more expensive but Iago Aspas, and Leonard Kweuke pretty awesome too.

Checked the instructions for the dmc's and the central dmc is the most defensive of the 3 while the outside DMC's are attacking players who do forward runs and play through balls.
So for the central DMC should be pure defensive power house, doesent need high technical stats.
The outside DMC's should be good technical players, high stats in passing technique dribbling, more like box2box type.

Is that correct?

I havent personally looked into all the individual settings, just went off what mr langvatn said about the middle one being the playmaker. All 3 should be all round. when looking at a player, click the highlight key attributes for box to box midfielder and central midfielder and should give you a good idea. Also, need good stats in tackling and marking.id say at least 11 or 12. If its low,and the player is young try putting their individual training focus on defensive midfield.

I take off the middle striker then. Often end up scoring even more goals lol.

How do you play the games? Only comments or full match?

Thanks

Depends what I'm doing. If I'm done tweaking and just testing through a season, I set it to key highlights and full speed.

The should all three be quite complete, sort of like a mix of box to box and central mid. The middle one is the playmaker, so he shouldn't be having close to zero in technical abilities :P Strength is important for all three too.

Your tactics are great but could you try to create a 3-5-2 ( like Juventus) formation ?

Mr Langvatn i'm testing your last tactic 2-5-3 V2 with Newcastle, Away played brilliant, 4-0 against fulham, 7-0 against Southhampton etc, home two draws, 0-0,0-0 against reading and norwich!!! Any help???

Tony Watt is one of the best forwards in the game.....Carlton Cole on loan is a good short term fix too.

Has anyone had success with 4-4-2 Arrigo Sacchi along with Mr. L's tactics (the Rock mainly)? I would love to use Arrigo Sacchi on home games and the Rock on away games, but it seems that there is some confusion within the team when changing on these tactics from game to game.

I do.
And I think it's a nice way to play.

Rock is certainly the best tactic this year, and i Found Arrigo Sacchi very interesting at Home or Againt Weaker team

Sorry, I'm making tactics all the time, would be too much work making player filters for every tactic :)

I was thinking specifically of 4-1-4-1 classic rock, it seems to me that there was something set up for downloading , some rar file if i'm not wrong?

I skimmed tru the thread but cant find a download link for the 4-4-2 gung ho classic? Can someone help me with this?

Also i would like to know the individual training setup for 4-1-4-1 rock classic tactic? What is mentioned in the OP doesnt seem to much, i think?

Anyways, thanks in advance

Would be too unstable at the back, sorry :)

It's mostly because Reading and Norwich "parks the bus" against you when they are playing away from home. So you won't get as many ccc's from counter-attacks. But don't worry. Just accept these results for now, and later when your team is better and have gelled more you will win against them too.

Gung Ho Classic 4-4-2 didn't meet my new standards, so I removed it from the front page. I guess I have to try to make a good 4-4-2 next.

Thanks for the quick response Langvatn...

What about the individual training for 4-1-4-1 rock, that i mentioned in the question above?

FYI... I started using your 4-1-4-1 rock classic with KRC Genk (Belgian). 2 last friendlies, tactic not gelled...
Genk 2 - 0 Bochum
RC Lens 1 - 5 Genk
