Mr Langvatn's Tactic Thread (Updated for 13.3.3)

I lose a lot of goals at the ends of games(4-1-4-1 Rock). Do you change something in your tactic when you leading 1-0 or 2-1 etc. and it is 10 minutes to the end of game ?

In my test I do nothing at all, I go vacation mode between the games, and I don't change anything during the matches. In a personal game, I would maybe use some of the substitutes if there are a lot of tired players on the pitch. Don't change anything about the tactic. But which one are you using? The original rock or the rock classic?

Hello,

First of all I would like ot thank you Mr. L. for your great tactics. I've been using your 4-1-4-1 Rock and Rock Classic with great succes with a team in Romania (2 titles and 1 cup - overachieving with a team predicted to finish 4th).

I'm now in charge of the Russian football team Anji (the team Eto'o plays for) with the Rock Classic tactic. Finished second in Russian Premier League (predicted 5th), so the tactic works
My question is, do we need to change anything during those cold periods (snow, freezing weather, etc.)? Because your tactics relies heavely on SHORT PASSING, and we all know that in difficult weather conditions DIRECT passing is preffered.

For example, last season with Anji during the cold period I've had some mixed results, winning most games, but not by the goal margin I was used to, and having some nasty draws or even loses against team I should have won. From watching the games, it seems that the players are losing the ball to easy in the defense and midfield.

Has anyone experinced this before?

And another question would be, who do you think it's better for the ST position in the Rock Classic (or plain Rock) between Eto'o and C. Fierro?

Thanks!

Mr L what if you move ml and mr to the stl and str position and tweaked a little and you have 4-1-2-3 (3 striker formation :)) !!!???
soory for my bad english

The original, i don't like classic tactics :)

Eto'o. If it's the first season of course.

Haven't tried the cold leagues yet :P

It won't be as solid then, and tbh it doesn't score much more goals either :P The 4-1-4-1 formation is way better imo.

has anyone had much success with the 4-1-4-1 classic the rock in ITALY/SERIE A? from what i've seen (based on users posting results and my own test games) this tactic beats arrigo sacchi in england, but i think sacchi is better in serie a

in saying that, they're both extremely good tactics, but was curious how users were finding serie a with the rock

Ok, your loss I guess :P

I don't like classic tactic, because there is no players role and it's harder to make transfers, but maybe i try 4-1-4-1 classic with assumption that players has got the same roles like in non-classic 4-1-4-1 :)

They have the same roles ish, ye :)

It works extremely well in Serie A too. Several of my friends have gone undefeated the whole season with Juve. Winning the league by 30+ points.

But do anyone know any REALLY GOOD tactics that can take up the fight with the rock? I've tested a lot by requests from you guys now, all of them are decent tactics, but I want to find a tactic that can really compete with the rock, without having to wait for Mr Hough to make one of his own :)

Awesome ! :) One more question, left-winger have to a stronger left leg and right-winger have to a stronger right leg ? They are inside forwards ?

Nah, they are regular wingers :) So the best is left side-left foot etc.
