Sky Sports can reveal in the early hours of this morning that Martin O'Neill after a successful 3 years at Aston Villa has left the club. In an official statement from the club,
"We can confirm that Martin has left the club and we wish him well in his future career".
Unofficial reports coming out of the club are saying that Chariman Randy Lerner and former Manager Martin O'Neill had a bust up over the clubs transfer policy and fund availability for the new season. Aston Villa fans will now be wondering who will be the next man in charge at Villa Park, more reports to follow or visit www.skysports.com.

In an exclusive interview with Aston Villa Chairman Randy Lerner, Sky Sports can reveal that the club will not be rushed into appointing a new manager as the chairman feels that this has to be right for the club. When asking him to confirm or deny the speculation surrounding Villa appointing Sven Goran Eriksson as Martin O'Neill's successor Mr Lerner replied
"I will leave that thought with you, only time will tell"

At a promotion event for Swedish Football, Sven took 5 minutes out to speak to Sky Sports. Sven confirmed that he would be very interested in taking over at Villa Park but at this moment in time he has had no contact with the club and currently it was all just speculation. In what was already a shock appointment, new Aston Villa boss David Beckham revealed some more shocking news at his opening press conferance at Aston Villa. David Beckam revealed that there is now a British/Irish transfer policy at the club, running as a 4 year project. This means that all NON British/Irish players at the club will be put up for sale and any new signings will only be British or Irish. So big names such as John Carew, Stiliyan Petrov and Carlos Cuellar will be leaving the club in this transfer window. So where does this leave Aston Villa, who will they look to bring in and will this new plan come good for the club.
