In the editor under the managers "non-playing data" you have the tabs "tactical Attribrutes" etc etc... and there is one called "tendencies" in here is where it states "target man" and "counter attack"

Every player in your club comes with a 'Best Position' in their 'Assistant Report'.

It's not always right but it gives you a good idea of the general position/role they are best at playing.
