I feel this may be a little bit too complex tbh, and is going to take up alot of everyone's time to complete... especially mine!!

Anyone have a simpler alternative??

You could do bundle packs, like 3 midfielders all deep lying makers and another with 3 ball winning midfielders etc.

+ mix it up with quality as well

+ and just don't announce which box contains which players, only tell us the style of player they are in each box...



+ You could even do like a Brazillian Flair box or an Italian Brick Wall box etc...



Teams would fill the rosters a lot quicker

Not a bad idea tbh. You could do an "American" box as well.

Also, I've volunteered to do a couple of rounds, so if more people also can take responsibility for 1-2 auction rounds, we'll split the burden a bit, and can probably get done quicker!
 
I've sent my bids to you zacram! Now we can both take a look and compare! :)
 
Could we not do something along the lines of Fifa packs? eg Gold, Silver, Bronze to fill the squads and once we have gotten that out the way, we could open it up to transfers.

If it's ok with Zacram, I am going to do a "Nations pack" auction round, where you get 5 players from 1 country. That will speed it up a bit at least!

This has the making of a great chairman game, and with ideas like this I don't see why it won't be great.
 
If it's needed, I'll do an auction round... I just don't have any ideas for what I'd do in it...
 
Yeah these ideas are really good cause if we keep going at the pace i have set will take a month to fill!! so bundles are definatley the way to go i think!

As long as each team gets to start of with at least 12 American Nationals in the squad and the wage bill doesnt exceed 350k p/w by too much we should be alright! Did you want to plan for the next round then Znik?


We currently have 8 bids in atm including mine. The only think i have noticed is where the same amount of money has been bid there is no preference in order for these players. What i mean is if someone outbids you for your top 5 players or something and then you have the rest set to the same value, I dont know which player you want most if you see what i mean... but will see how it goes when they are all in.

Unfortunately Chicago has dropped out as he hadn't realised it would be so intricate with the selection, but i guess might return after the auction is done and just inherit whatever team he gets.

I've already started planning the next round. Will be exciting to see what you end up with! I'll only announce the country of the pack, so you'll bid for a country rather than players. That being said, you won't see Ronaldo's or Messi's in this pack, but you might see players on level with Kolo Toure or Charlie Adam!
 
I am yet to get my bids in, its just too complex for my old mind to take lol. I think the packs are a great idea, hence why I mentioned something along the Fifa lines eg players with PA's of 160+ would be a gold pack, players with PA's up to 159 would be a Silver pack and then Bronze packs would just be squad fillers of PA's under 130. This is just an example and might help with your ideas.
 
Is it worth submitting my bids? Or will the auction system be changed?

FYI, I think it should be changed. This way will take a lot of time.

Looking at the rules he said 36 hours - which means until about this time tomorrow (I think?!)
