March & April Update

League Table

With 2 games to go we had to win just one to guarantee UCL football, after losing the easy game we had to go to Anfield and win, if we lose we would of possibly fell to as low as 7th so the pressure was on.......did we do it?? Click the picture and find out............

Fixtures

Losing to Brighton, i could of cried, but what a performance against Liverpool to secure our highest finish ever in the league. 3rd place and not only UCL football next year but straight into the Group Stages.

Sadly it wasnt to be, no hat-trick for Bosch. His mate Luis realised that he was better so Luis stepped up to have 2 outstanding games at the end of the season. Also, you will see the second picture, this made me cry!! I was offered £31m and was genuinely going to sell him until i noticed that i was losing £12.5n just for selling him. Not amused!!



The Arsenal job was declined. I had a think about it and even though they are my favourite English team, sadly it seemed pointless as they are not even in Europe. So we are still at Reading.


I now pass this on to Mojo, i would only ask him to do look at two things. First, look at the expiring contracts of the team, i got stung because this was not looked at. We have lost Valdes to Napoli after his contract was up, he signed a pre-contract in January. I wasn't happy. Second, try and see if the board will expand the stadium. I think our attendance over the season has been at like 95% and it could be worth at least asking the question.

Happy enough with my 6 months, i do feel like i am the weak link at the moment as the form is again up and down, but UCL footy was the target and that was met.

Third is ****** amazing! Champions league should generate us some massive money, hopefully we can get out f the group stage.

I'm happy Reguera wasn't sold, imagine how good our defence will be when he and Bosch mature....scary. Out of curiosity who offered 31m?

I was never concinced by Valdes if i'm honest, I think it may cost a very pretty penny to get a champions league quality keeper in though, It will be my top priority.

Don't label yourself the weak link, we are in this togther!

Yeah i kind of agree with you about Valdes mate, but we have no one!! And i really think we could of got money for him. He is/was only 32, young for a good GK.

Ter Stegen was up for a free transfer but he wouldn't sign, you could look now and see as we no have champions league footy.

Chelsea and Man City!! City's deal was upfront and Chelski's was over a year i think!! I just thought £30m we could easily go buy 3 new Reguera's lol glad he stayed though, would of been silly to sell him!! Just seen the £££££'s and got excited!!

Anyway, good luck mate, looking forward to updates already!!

Reguara is amazing, trust me we need him, We have maybe 5-6 players who will be amazing in a few seasons.

I didn't feel like thw squad needed any huge improvement, However I did require a one specific type of player for the way I plan to play this season. Here are the transfers.

We are amazingly thin on keepers so Northern Ireland international Carson has come in as back up to Begovic.

Ashley Young
I know expensive for his age, But I needed a quality right footed left sided player. He is english he is home grown and he has champions league experience. He ticks all the boxes and the fans were delighted when he signed.

As an added bonus all 3 players class as home grown, We really do have alot of foreign players.

Now onto how I plan to play, Gone are 5 at the back since i've heard nothing but good things about Bosch and Reguera I have opted to go very attacking this time. I'm currently using this formation to great effect in Brazil on my Hexagon save, I'm sure it will need teaking for the premiership but i'm also sure it will produce a hatful of goals with Maupay and Hernandez up front.

Man City are up to there old tricks again, The type that make Scott see ££££££. I rejected this and offered Reguera a new contract that now has no release clause as they were getting very close to the £40m release fee.

As per the previous managers request I've asked for a stadium expansion and got it, i also asked for improved youth facilities and got those too!

And now the big one, The champions league group. Can you say group of death? Real Madrid, Dortmund and Sampdoria. Madrid speaks for itself, Dortmund are German champions and Sampdoria are Italian runners up! We have it all to do but at least we got given nearly £8m before we even kicked a ball.

The young boys we signed all look pretty amazing, fell in love with the French boy, nothing like a French DM/MC lol also quite excited about strootman, but not sure how he will fit in now.

Not exactly what i was hoping for with Stadium expansion, am i right, is that not only something like 4000 seats? Hardly seems worth it, anyway, they said yes thats the main thing, well done dude.

Cameroon was pish!!! 2 games, 2 draws, rubbish!! I wouldn't mind if we left that job!!

Callejon annoys me and I haven't manaed him, I put him up for sale and had interest from 6 clubs straight away, should of asked for more!

Massive keeper in more ways than 1 all 6'5 of him.

We have some exceptional youth now, though I feel far to many are foreign. Also we have about 8 Brazillian players!

The expansion is more than a little underwhelming....

I've had a few games with Cameroon and they aren't all that, But the cup of nations in January is more than winable. If I was incharge after that i'd resign but that will be Sauls decision to make.
 
Some interesting stuff here! I think we can all agree my signing of Callejon was a bad one but he was the only player i could find at the time! Also i am not quite sure i agree with the price paid for young but time will tell!

I think we could be in for a good season here with especially with the 2 centre halves looking like they are really becoming something special!

Young is going to be the true test of me as a manager 14.5m for a 31yo is a huge vote of confidence that I hope he repays!

I'll split my updates in half again, I have 20 games by my count this time so 10 league games plus whatever surround them

I have apparantly invented the glass cannon! This formation sure as **** scores alot of goals and then conceeds them at the other ****** end! Wasn't that bothered about the League Cup but I would of like to go a round or two further.

The new formation has settled properly now, We are conceeding less but still more than I would like. However scoring goals is not a problem at all! 8 wins one loss and one draw from my last 10 league games, This leaves us top of the league! Man City have had a quite spectacular collapse, Losing to Notts Forest, Bristol and drawing with Arsenal in recent weeks and we were there to take advantage!

Saul has roughly £25m to spend in January but £6m of that will be spent as soon as January 1st arrives, Two in coming players. Claudemir I assume was signed by Scott, Maximiliano Núñez was signed by myself for a cool £5m but i'm convinced he is very much in the same vein as Reguera and Bosch and will prove an absolute bargain!

Just one final note on Cameroon, Easily qualified for the Cup of nations which will start in a few weeks game time.

The club squad is much the same as before, Bags of potential. We could maybe do with some defensive back and and maybe a back up striker, but with the players we have I feel loans would be sufficent as some of the youth we have will come good very very shortly but that is now Saul's Decision!​

Paredes has barely had a game Moraes has been more off the bench. Maupay has been outstanding, Hernandez seems an excellent foil for him aswell.

Capitao never seems to be out for long but has a habit of breaking down mid game, so we needed cover for him anyway.

Hopefully Saul can kick on from here!
