No,positive is the best,attack only if your team strugle to score or when you play against team who sit back and playing ultra defensive football,very attacking mentality expose at back and you lose balance between attack and defence
 
During some games you realy need plan A or plan B,you dont need to change formation but you need to experiment especialy in second season,when oposition know very well how you play,first season is easy,second one is always hardest if you have underdoog team who play also in champions league second season

If you play with Instant Result you still can change your tactic depends on the score. You can do that by using Math Plans.

Here's what Magician suggests( that is for 3.0 but it can be easily adjusted it for 5.0 )

after a successful season with an underdog team the team reputation increases greatly and the opponents starts to takes your team much more seriously that they did in the previous season so to keep doing as good as you did in the previous season it requires greatly improving your team to match the increased reputation.
 
@Babemocni1988 Also, I've been noticing that EPL becomes even more challenging after the 1st season because there are very many rich clubs in the league and such clubs as Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea become even more stronger after the 1st season. Usually, their talented player develops greatly after the 1st season and they also buy world star players to further improve their teams so like in real life EPL is the most challenging in the game and if you can survive there then you can survive anywhere. :)

I know that,i play this game for a long time,i am just saying that you can not expect with underdoog in premier league to dominate every season like in first
