@FmLegend - put Fortune as Deep-Lying Forward. Scored 26 for me last season.
August and September Update
The excitement of a new season buzzed around Parkhead as the supporters were desperate to see Celtic's new signings in SPL action for the first time against Motherwell. WTF pies went down a storm, having negotiated a deal with the Glasgow side to make their pies for the next to years.
Competitions:
Out of the Champions League, lost 3-2 on aggregate to Benfica. Europa League Group is our continental holiday home for now as we time-share with Arsenal, Metallist and Hadjuk Split. 6th in the league after poor start and inconcistency but recent performances are picking up.

Results:
All games in SPL unless stated
Celtic 0-2
Motherwell
Scorers: n/a
Comments: ******* Disgrace. Enough said.
Champions League Play-Off Qualifying Round 1st Leg:
Benfica 1-1
Celtic
Scorers: Abou Diaby
Comments: Great performance. Got what we deserved and could have had more. Much better than the Motherwell game and we now have a chance of reaching the group-stages.
Dundee United 0-4
Celtic
Scorers: S. Campbell, S. McDonald, M. Fortune, D. Goodwillie
Comments: Absolute enialation. Dominated from start to finish and they were hardly in our half the whole game. Fantastic.
Champions League Qualifying Round Play-off Leg 2:
Celtic 1-2
Benfica
Scorers: Niall McGinn
Comments: 0-0 at half-time, and then Niall McGinn sent the stadiuminto raptures with a 30 yard wonder-goal. Nut it wasn't to be for the valiant Hoops as first Kierrison and then Angel Di Maria scored on 73 and 78 minutes respectively to knock us out.
Celtic 0-1
Hearts
Scorers: n/a
Comments: The inconsistency continues as we succumb to a pathetic loss at home to the jambos. Caldwell, Miranda and Boruc were all at fault for their goal, scored by David Templeton.
St. Johnstone 1-1
Celtic
Scorers: M. Fortune
Comments: Went 1-0 up, then drawing 1-1 at half-time. Poor performance all-round in a game we should should be strolling through.
Europa League Group J:
Celtic 5-0
Hadjuk Split
Scorers: R. Santa Cruz (x2), K. Femenia (x2), A. McGeady
Comments: Wonderful performance from the Bhoys, we blew our Croat opponents to pieces with fantastic, free-flowing football and fabulous finishing. Brilliant.
Celtic 3-0
Aberdeen
Scorers: R. Santa Cruz, A. Kerzhakov, K. Femenia
Comments: Another swashbuckling display, the revival continues.....
League Cup 3rd. Round
Queen of the South 0-2
Celtic ( A.E.T.)
Scorers: Alipio, A. Kerzhakov
Comments: QoS battled hard but we pulled through with a deserved win. Brazilian 18 year-old Alipio scored the first in the 93 minutes, before Kerzhakov added a header from a McGinn corner right on full-time. ( 120 mins )
NIGERIA
A good month for me in charge of the African side. We're in group H for the African Cup of Nations 2012 qualifiers with Burundi, Mali and Guinea Bissau.
Results:
Friendly:
Nigeria 2-2
Bulgaria
Scorers: Victor Anichebe, Shola Ameobi
Comments: Good performance against a strong Bulgaria side. We lead twice, 1-0 and 2-1, only to be pegged back.
ACN Q Grp H
Nigeria 5-0
Guinea Bissau
Scorers: Yakubu (x3), Shola Ameobi, Obafemi Martins
Comments: Fantastic showing. Super stuffing of our opponents to show that we mean business in this qualifying campaign.
Friendly:
Nigeria 5-0
Brunei
Scorers: Yakubu (x4), John Utaka
Comments: Walk in the park.
In other news Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyema will reportedly never be picked for his country again while current manager Chris McLaughlin is in charge. The Espanyol player was asked to come in to the squad after an injury to Aberdeen winger Sone Aluko but rejected the late call-up saying: " It's a great honour to play for the national team but if I was going to be played then I would have been selected for the original squad. Carl Ikeme will play between the sticks from now on.
