I hate it when people complain at the game just because they can't win a trophy or that they lost a game. And the worst is when they claim the game is "scripted". I for one have never experienced this "scripting" and i think it is because i adapt. FM is meant to be realistic. EG a good tactic like the one Rodgers used for his 11/12 (?) winning streak suddenly came unstuck because Mourinho and Pulis figured a way to counter it. You can't expect to be doing the same thing forever and win everything. So basically have a look at yourself before you comment how **** a game it is because tbh it really isnt a **** game at all! Some people are just bad at it :)

Sinnott99 is absolutely right. My own league finishes in my Southampton save went like this:

Season PL Finish
2013/14 --- 6th
2014/15 --- 3rd
2015/16 --- 6th
2016/17 --- 6th
2017/18 --- 8th
2018/19 --- 1st
2019/20 --- 2nd
2020/21 --- 1st

...and I'm 5 points clear with a game in-hand at the end of January 2022; preparing to face Stoke City to win my 4th consecutive Capital One Cup, to add to the 3 x FA Cups, 4 x Community Shields and the Europa League I won in 2019; I've got CSKA Moscow coming-up in the 1st knockout round of the Champions League and Pompey (can't wait!) in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Round about 2016/17 I started watching the matches more closely, on the Comprehensive highlights view, and I began to get a much better understanding of what was actually happening and of the strengths and weaknesses of my squad and the opposition. I became much better at creating tactics that suited my players and training them individually to fill any gaps.

Now, I think of everything up to that 8th place finish as my 'Marvel Phase I'. A summer clear-out and some top quality signings signalled the beginning of 'Phase II' and the silverware has poured in ever since. Semi-final defeats to Porto and Bayern in the last two seasons mean that the Champions League still eludes me, but I'm getting better - and one of my players just won the World Player of the Year award.

I agree with those who say that the player sprites sometimes do some odd-things that let your side down, but as you get better at the game and bring in better players year-on-year, those incidents become rare - and happen in your favour more often than not.

I hate it when newly promoted teams overachieve at the start of the season
 
I ******* ALWAYS hit woodwork in tough away games where I struggle to create chances in the first place. But when striker is 1v1 with GK and he beats GK, the shot is more woodwork bound than back of the net. FFS.

I'm noticing this is a trend, so here goes my rant.

I'm not complaining about match engine, nor SI, nor suggesting any conspiracy theory, like many have in past. THIS IS POST YOUR FRUSTRATION THREAD AND I'M POSTING MINE.

And like I said, I ALWAYS hit woodwork in matches where I struggle to create chances in the first place. It'd be okay if my team took 30 odd shots.

Weird that i never have these problems and when i do i can easily find the issue. Keep in mind i play the game half-***** the whole time too.

Step your game up, *****.
 
Why the **** my team always plays like **** at the end of the season.
They play like crazy in Europa League but cant win against eight man Cardif

I just battered Chelsea 6-1 at home, next game against arsenal at home, flamini gets sent off in 3rd minute, I go 2-0 down and scrape a 2-2 draw

I battered Shaktar 4-1 in the semis but cant win against eight man ******* Cardif,
Now Im losing against Newcastle which means I wont see Champion League next season, Ive conceded thousand goals from the 40-45 minute.
I had 5 points lead from 5th place, but lost to Crystal, draw with Arsenal, draw Cardif, draw Watford now losing to Newcastle and one match to go, this is my FIFTH save with Liverpool and this **** have happened a lot of times at the end of the season
Everytime I start a save a think that a have learned something from the previous one but no, this game works at random sometimes

I lost 3-0 against Southampton in next game, must be a Liverpool thing cause I'm Liverpool aswell

this is when the game really frustrates me and the m.e does something seriously ridiculous and unrealistic!!

i'm two nil up cruising in the fa cup semi and my player has perfect opportunity to put it into a box from a free kick, but no he passes it to the right back on the half way line, this chap is on a yellow, so obviously he just dribbles under no pressure into and opposition player to lose the ball and subsequently turns around and drop kicks him picking up his second yellow in the process!! When the **** would this ever happen in real life!!
 
How am I supposed to play this game when I dont know how it works?

Now there's a legitimate complaint if ever I heard one. This game's biggest flaw is lack of feedback and teaching.
