Cardiff-Liverpool Live

Why didn't this end 3-9? Real life match bugs!

When you dominate, you have a lot of shots but less clear cut openings, but the opposition which hits you on the break, will create less chances but if they're good one, they'll create one on one chances since your team's stranded high up the field.

As a Chelsea fan, I've seen this happen far too much in real life. Don't see what's the problem here, even the matches big teams lose, they have more shots(and shots on target) in most of them, yet they lose.

Like the Chelsea v Liverpool game at anfield, I'm a Liverpool fan so this made me very angry haha

I would like to thank the ref for costing me a match I was going to win (managing Preston). Just had a match against Notts County, my players were hacked down repeatedly throughout the match. No yellow cards or anything, though of course god f***ing forbid my players make a tackle. So as a result 3 of my key players of injured, and for some reason-5 minutes added time. for what? Screw you ref. You obviously got paid to make sure I lost the dam match. and to rub salt in the wound got so angry I flipped my plate of chips :'(

Ronaldo out for 2-3 months
Bale out for 3-4 months
Di Maria at PSG (sold him to give youngsters more playtime)

Jese will do.

To name a few:

1. Full familiarity with tactics actually signals that your current tactic is now redundant, and that it will not succeed under any circumstances. Sacking imminent.
2. The amount of times that "lethal" strikers such as Suarez tamely poke the ball at the goalkeeper, or "crash it against the crossbar".
3. The fact that a CCC means nothing to a human managed team.
4. The fact that a CCC for an AI operated team inevitably leads to a "superbly taken goal" by their 3rd choice striker.
5. The fact that all AI goals come in injury time.
6. The fact that the comments like "he can't miss! / there's only one outcome here" inevitably lead to "world class saves" by Julian Speroni / David Stockdale / Vitoria Mannone.

I am getting sick of having to repeat myself. The match engine DOES NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN HUMAN AND AI! Not even slightly. Do not judge the chances by what the game labels them, the game has too rigid structure for 'clear-cut chances'. Look yourself and see how good the chance was. If the opposition is countering you and it's three attackers to your defender and goalkeeper, chances are that they score. If your player is approaching the goal from the side and has to squeeze the ball between 2 inches of the goalkeeper and the goal post, it's understandably difficult to do so. Both are labeled, in the game, as clear cut chances.

Also, where on earth did you hear full fluidity means that your tactic is redundant? I have three tactics, all fully fluid, that I've had for over two years (in game) that I switch between often, and they all work very well.

Repeating yourself won't make it true. The game is biased against the player. No matter what ppms, roles and instructions you give, if you're doing too well, your wingers will keep shooting like idiots. And your one-striker team ends up having sth like 30 shots, 15 on target, no goals. Opposing two-striker teams get 5, 6 shots, 2-3 on target. A clear cut chance is supposed to be just that, clear cut. It stands to reason that the more cccs you have, the more goals you actually score. Having every team in the league deviate from that rule, as in having 8 times less clear chances, yet the same or greater number of goals, means that somewhere something is adjusted so that the player's cccs don't mean squat.

Team doing too well? Penalize it. Well then, in my current game after a run of 3 matches in decent form, one match against an underdog team, lost 2-4 while losing ALL THREE ADVANCED PLAYMAKERS present at my club. Corner shots also in favor of the ai whose players just swarm the ball every time making any kind of defensive tactics redundant. AI goalie with arms 3 meters long to make absolute Roswell Grey saves- same story. Couldn't make the game realistically hard? Throw some **** at the player to make his life miserable.

In the old FMs everything kind of made sense. When you've done everything properly you won. When you screwed up or got lazy- you lost. Now you have to administer changes every game? Jack711 is absolutely right. In the first games of the season I can win a stretch of 4-5 games without conceding a single goal (and no, I don't mean friendlies) with my team having only a mediocre grasp on tactics. As the familiarity goes up, the results go down. Way to go, turn a manager into a linear game and make the player overcome artificial obstacles.

Alright I was perhaps exaggerating a bit ;) but I'm fairly ****** of with the game as a whole. I just think it's a shame that, as Wroth states, it doesn't seem to make as much sense as previous FMs (it's hard to trust the ME when you don't have the ability to fully manipulate it via sliders.), yet it could potentially be so good.

Your idea of three entirely different tactics being trained at once sounds like a good idea (might help catch the ME off guard.) The lifespan of one or two tactics used in the traditional way does seem abnormally short though, and to me your team's familiarity with the tactic might as well represent the opposition's too.

Lost 2-4 to an underdog an hour ago, next match- just beat the best team in the league 4-1 with the same tactic and swaping my amc for a u-18 player. Yeah, totally makes sense and is in no way arbitrary ;]

My games keep ****** crashing. This is ridiculous. I'm computer-literate as ****, have a really short temper when it comes to SI and the gaming industry as a whole over the past 5 years and have finally come to the conclusion that they're robbing us blind. Releasing half-finished titles only to update them 5 months later with a workable patch is ridiculous. Daylight robbery, even. Especially on an International scale where things like currency need to be taken into consideration when making said purchases. I'm not the least bit happy. I've been playing since 1998 however I don't think I'll be purchasing FM15 and if I find students at my Uni who can offer me legal advise as to what rights we, as FMers, have in a matter like this. Every year these pages are riddled with issues and even though most of them are user-errors, things like crashing intermittently and with no certainties (except that it's when I press "continue" or "confirm" or "make offer" or "submit" to any kind of communication).

Needless to say I'm freaking ****** off.

You really think playing the exact same way vs an weak team and the best in the league is a good idea? The space available to exploit on the pitch will be vastly different so you can't just expect it'll work necessarily.

How would you approach the match when the other team has parked the bus?

I have a lot of additional graphics and skins installed and I haven't had a single crash. I'm not sure how this year's FM compares to previous versions, but it seems to be temperamental when trying to co-exist with some (not all) anti-virus programs.

The only other thing I do is make sure to clear the cache fairly often or not to use cached data at all. The only crashes I've had in previous versions, were related to 3rd party skins. Have you posted on the SI forum? They're good at getting to the root of the problem for you. Frustrating as **** when it happens, so I feel your pain :(

How would you approach the match when the other team has parked the bus?
Most people I've come across attack with speed, usually on the counter when there's a lot of space to exploit. Teams who park the bus will have a lot of players back, so your players will just run into a brick wall if they try to attack at 100mph.

In my save right now, I'm a top 5 club, so I encounter these teams occasionally. I have a specific tactic (as one of my 3) to deal with these guys. It's a lot more patient as I use Normal mentality. On higher mentalities, passes will be "forced" and too risky. On the lower mentalities, I rely on good movement and the players will pass if it's "on".

If the opponent is really, really defensive I add Retain Possession and Pass into Space to encourage my team to patiently probe for an opening. I don't play a Poacher, because there's no space for him to operate in. I currently have 2 forwards, an AF/A and a CF/S with an Enganche behind them. All three players get involved in trying to create an opening and that's not even counting the other players around them. If there's an aerial weakness, I play my tall striker as the AF/A so that he can get on the end of crosses.

It also helps to have a player good at taking free-kicks and corners. You never know when that might be your winning goal!

i just won the league by 15 pts with Liverpool Suarez scored 36 goals in BPL.

all of a sudden the players Suarez + Gerrard start complaining that their not happy with training!? no explanation why

to top it off Liverpool's youth category was downgraded to category 2 !? i have no idea why our balance is rich in profits

although the Spanish league just got rated higher than BPL in updated ratings is this why???

Dont know if this a bug or not but when ive finished playing i save the game then click on quit and exit. I then see a message on my pc saying football manager has stopped working .I then click cancel to stop this and then close my steam account, but within seconds fm starts to start again loads game again.
Anybody else seen or does this ifso how to resolve this problem
