allthough im playing a great season with manu, de gea also playing well so far, about half the goals conceded were a result of the goalie's poor passing straight into the opposition's striker.
 
There are too many injuries. and heck they are all long term injuries. i have half my team injured for 2-6 months. i mean how. some during a match, others during training and i dont have any high intensity training. whats the idea of all these unwarranted long term injuries after the patch? how do we enjoy the game when you dont even have a full squad to play with? is this the reason the in game editor was made so people who bought it can just remove injuries? its not fun. an update should be released to reduce this injury scare. take my manutd save for instance. i have Januzaj, Mata, Kagawa, Rooney, RVP, Ferdinand, Jones, Giggs injured for 2-6 months. :S
We really do appreciate the work the developers are doing. not easy. FM has widened my footie knowledge & i'll be forever grateful but i think sometimes these updates do create too many issues. maybe they change too much. we should realise this aint real life footie. No m,atter what we do it is still a simulation or game. lets do that and make players have fun. thats all. after your tactics are 100% fluid, your team also then start to lose games and play badly when you do the same thing. funny. but i'll still play it with the stress anyway

New patch again screwed everything over. I spent literally 12 hours tweaking and updating tactics for the new season, and had an incredible pre-season, and then the update comes. I am a two-time defending BPL and UCL Champion, and last season I went undefeated in the league, with 29 wins, 9 draws (dropped 18 points). I only lost two matches all season (one in UCL and one in Cap One Cup). This season, I've already dropped 16 points in the league, and I'm not out of October yet. I've lost a total of 7 matches in all competitions already, and drawn 3 (only 3 wins). I have only 1 point from 3 matches in an easy UCL group. My world class striker, who has scored one goal every 1.14 matches over the last three seasons (1 in 0.97 last season) has a total of 2 in 13. I scored 83, 91 and 88 goals in the last three league seasons - I have 6 goals in 8 league matches so far, and a total of 10 in 13 overall. Currently, I'm on pace to have fewer shots on goal in the league this season (81) than I had goals last season (88). Mistakes leading to goal are ridiculous as well. A defense that allowed only 23 league goals last season as already made 11 mistakes leading to goal in 13 matches. I only have two changes to my starting lineup (FB and CM, and those two have ratings over 7.00), and only 4 total, and my team plays like they have never played together. I've tweaked tactics, and even used old ones that were highly effective, and nothing works. It looks like this 3-time defending BPL Manager of the Season will likely be fired by the end of November.

My entire midfield got injured within five games of the season starting. We're talking four or five long term injuries and the niggly ones that clear in time for someone else to get injured. This, added to the fact that I was dominating every game in possession, shots and chances and at best drawing, tells me never to go back to this game. Ever.

So hugely ****** off. I was playing CM on a 386 back in the mid-90s. I have killed relationships by sneaking games in in the middle of the night. This year I spent months creating a comprehensive facepack project, on my own, and I feel now that I have not only wasted days and weeks on a **** of a game, I've gone and polished it as well.

SI, you suck. That is all.

I would love to enjoy this game, but I simply cant. Thought it would be good after the patch and gave it a fair chance again, but no. Why is 50% of the goals in my games total bullshit that practically never happen in real life? Opponent takes a corner. Oh, it goes straight in from the hands of my goalie. Next game. My goalie has the ball. Oh, he throws it straight to the opposition striker, whos couple metres away. Needless to say, I conceded. I have put hundreds of hours in the game, and those kind of situations happen all the time. Really SI, you think that okay and the game is finished? I'll need to back to fm13, and think twice before buying fm15.

I've seen this in FM2014 myself. If you wait until the January transfer window (which usually doesn't help because you need someone in those positions now), their asking price will usually be pretty close to their actual value. You might even get lucky enough to get them near value on deadline day.
 
Really? REALLY? ******* **** this is such bullshit. I'm sorry but rage is out of control here. Right, calm....calm....

Ok. So my Shots and SOT's are almost the same as Chelsea. My CCC aren't, fair enough, but every time my striker gets the ball he is magically tackled from behind with no penalty or card. That is of course when he isn't declared offside...which is almost all the time.

Also, they have more fouls but less yellow cards. This is now beyond a joke.

It seems to me they've added cheats to boost the AI against you.

Hence four AI players being able to stand on the six yard box to defend corners - that's not a tactic, that's just a band aid slapped over the corner bug. Evident because they forgot to give you that option too.

Hence your wingers blazing every shot over - because they can't sort the defending out and allowing all the chances created by sloppy coding in the ME would result in rugby-like scores.

Hence the AI goalkeepers becoming supermen and the strikers having their arses handed to them every game - because letting all those one-on-ones play out as they would in real life would mean admitting the match engine is flawed.

Hence the woodwork remaining like catnip to the ball - because too many well-placed shots would, again, result in a succession of double-digit goal thrillers.

Hence nearly every goal you score looking like a fluke.

In my game, I have checked Real Madrid's shooting stats against mine. We have roughly the same number. I've scored 9, they've scored 27.

It appears the tactical system is too powerful for the match engine, but rather than revising the tactical system they've decided to fix (as in gerrymander) the match engine instead. Don't address the issues SI, just paper over them and pretend they're not there.

Do they realise what a shower of **** this game is now? Do they care?

Evidently not. See below Shots, Shot on Target and (most amazingly) CCCs comparison. Just a small (but ******* stupid) annoyance is that for the OM goal, they score with their one and only shot on target (not even a CCC) for the whole half from....a corner to goal mouth scramble.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidiculous.

I don't want to be a **** but there's not much wrong with your two posts.

While the bugs, like corner scramble and GKs becoming Superman are genuine, the previous and this post are not ridiculous.

Chelsea created way more clear cut chances, 1-4 right? Score was 1-2, you can't win every match.

And all this stuff happens in real life too, but managers can't blame match engine in their pressers. ****, David Moyes almost did by saying "I don't know what I've to do to win."

Everton has 3 clear cut chances with Mirallas being selfish and skying one. Tottenham's goal came from not clear cut chance but clever set piece by Walker.

Spurs - Newcastle match at WHL, Newcastle won.

Chelsea - West Ham, 39 shots to their 2, at least 4 clear cut chances and many half chances, 0-0.

Chelsea - Newcastle fairly even match and almost equal amount of clear cut chances, 3-0 win.

In real life there's no stat like Clear cut chances, but I'm talking about matches I've watched and I've a sharp memory.

While this patch and even previous patch had bugs and my frustration got me to punch my laptop's screen and break it, yours is of a very very low level and to label it ridiculous is ridiculous itself.

Also check in the amount of long shots your team might be taking as they have VERY low chance of going in. That also matters a lot.

Erm...did you even look at the second post picture?

I had 7, count them, 7 clear cut chances. The opposition had 0, count them 0 clear cut chances. So don't give me **** about Chelsea creating more clear cut chances so it's fair they won. OM shouldn't have had 1 goal and yet, with their only shot for the entire first half, they score. That's a bit much for anyone's taste.

So yes, it is ridiculous, and before you dismiss someone's post have the courtesy to actually look at the figures.

Oh, and to compare the game to real life is just not useful. In real life, strikers don't make forward runs into the box with a 2 yard start on the defending line then stop and wait to be tackled rather than shoot, or pass it back to the half way line. In real life, defenders don't receive the ball from the keeper and kick the ball out for a corner under no pressure at all, leading to a goal for the opposition. In real life, a keeper doesn't transport himself from the left stick to instantly save a shot going high right. In real life, when a cross goes in, the attacking players don't just stand quietly and watch the ball fly past them.

Finally, to label someone's genuine and well documented and commonly held frustration ridiculous and of a very very low level because you think I have no grounds for gripe is rude, and arrogant, particularly when you have completely ignored the stats in my second post in your points.

I did look at it. Only if the game was all about stats. And I do realize I went a little bit overboard with the personal frustration thing, apologies for that.

While there are some bugs, these kind of matches do happen in real life, ultimately result matters.

If every game goes according to stats, you'll start winning every game after a stage.

Also, I could already see the GK thing coming after reading changelog of 14.3 update.
 
The GK's annoy the living **** out of me.
Anyone with over 14 reflexes is instantly a goalkeeping god.
Like, seriously, my players can't score on them from 6 yards out, because the keeper will pull off some amazing, last-minute, reflex save. I feel like almost every keeper is a David Seaman. -__-

How good do they think Southampton are?!

First season in charge, I bought no-one, finished 4th in the League and won both domestic cups.

Second season was still in both cups and Europe, and 5th in the league when I was fired for under-performing.

What gives?

Ok matey, we're cool. I think the thing that frustrates me is that the noticeable difference in the way the AI moves, works, defends and attacks compared to the way my team does. They never get caught out, every time they do I'm declared offside or the striker just shoots straight at the keeper.

Basically, I would accept one game being a well the god's played a good one on me, but to have it happen over and over is ridiculous.

The GK thing needs addressing right away.

Right there. Can't see why you would try to defend a broken game that has caused such obvious frustration. Things happen in football, this is true. But things don't happen in FM2014 as they ****** well ought to.

I still haven't updated, even though I desperately want the transfer window updates. I knew what was going to happen after I saw that GK change.

Also at least based on stats, matches like that happen IRL too. Costa isn't a WC GK but he became for one game.

My instant reaction was poor and I realized afterwards. Apologies again. The match engine does seem buggy but I sometimes feel people go overboard with criticism. This version of FM is the one where I've genuinely felt challenged and needed to be innovative tactically during match. Especially being a Chelsea fan, return of Jose has ignited that spark in me, lol.

Yeah the ME makes things look a lot horrible and worst thing is that corners can't be cleared properly (of your own team). Whenever an opposition gets a corner in last few minutes of a decisive game, I know it's going to be a goal, and not proper, but scramble.

I literally broke my laptop's screen after losing a match from set piece goal. The strikers that work in this game or at least in previous patch were Target Man. I had Mandzukic with 12 finishing, no shoot with power PPM and he scored for fun and did not waste many chances.
