yeah that is also flawed. How can a ccc be at the same time a goal ? Either is a ccc or is a goal, not both.

I think he means once it hits net that, it shiould be counted as a 'chance' rather than a goal. It remains an opportunity to score stat, rather than a scored.

Sorry i meant shouldnt, I get what he means. It just the way you look at it.

It was a chance to score, coz he missed, but a goal, therefore wasnt a chance, but a finish. Its purely a preferencial view thing.

Sorry mate, a change of scoring or a clear chance of scoring is not the same thing of a goal. Clear chance means just that, it's a chance to score and either can turn to a goal or not. If it's turn into a goal, then it's a goal.
 
Now, continuing this thing with Strikers conversion rates. Unfortunately, this is something I have to agree with SI (rarely, but with some issues I agree with them). Let's take a look into a world class player, ok ?

These are the stats from Messi between the seasons 2010-11 and 2012-13, so it's 3 full seasons and I think we can agree that both Messi and Ronaldo are the two top world players. So, as for Messi:

Total Matches Played: 137
Total Shots: 697
Total Shots on Target: 349
Total Goals Scored: 161

So, a top world class player has these numbers. Messi scored 23% of his total shots, 23%!!!! and 46% of his total shots on target. One would think a player like Messi would have a lot better stats, right ?!

As for Ronaldo, it's even poorer
Total Matches: 140
Total Shots: 977 (!!!)
Total Shots on Target: 395
Total Goals: 148

Right, Ronaldo only scored 15% of his total shots, 37% of his total shots on target.
So, when people remember to complain about their own strikers not scoring remember these stats. This is one issue that it's very close to reality in FM

Are you saying if it's a goal, then it shouldn't be counted as a CCC? That wouldn't make any sense.

They are two distinctly different stats. If a CCC produces a goal, then both stats should stand. How else would you figure out CCC conversion rates? A fluke goal, on the other hand, should not be logged as a CCC, but rather as on-target.

Well West Ham had a 29.2% CCC conversion, and those CCC stats also included penalties. So normal CCC is slightly lower, and even lower still b/c FM14 includes some fake CCCs. I think 20% CCC conversion would be a pretty good result in FM14

Rather simple: count the ccc's, count the goals originated from ccc's. If you log a ccc also as a goal there's no distinction, I'm making a distinction: either you have a chance to score (that can lead to a goal... or not), or either you have a goal.

Yea but not all goals are from ccc

If I early cross and score a goal, that's not a ccc
If I score a goal directly from a corner kick, that's not a ccc
If I score a goal because of goalkeeping error, that's not a ccc
If I score a goal from a long pass/cross forward from a free kick near the half (yes, this has happened), that's not a ccc

Neither I've stated that all goals come from a ccc :-) of course they don't. Just saying that a chance to score is just a chance, it can't be logged both as a chance and a goal. Your striker is head to head to the GK, shoots... and misses. Ok, this was a ccc. The same situation and your striker scored: it's a goal.
 
Well, i tried to go back to my game as Arsenal, but no it just got worse. 2 nil up away at bursaspor in the champs league lost 3-2, then lost to QPR away in the league 2-1 after having a defender sent off in the first 5 minutes. Then 3-0 up against Liverpool at home in the league. And guess what i lost 5-3. This game sucks ***!

Game save deleted.... going back to my Xbox instead.

Ok then how would you calculate CCC conversion % using your method?

Unless you picked up 2 red cards or something, losing a 3-goal lead means you are just bad at this game.

Yes, which is why i won the league the season before last.

How can you say I am bad at this game, you know nothing of my tactics or of who is in my team.

This thread is posting frustrations, and i'm frustrated and you are not very helpful are you?
