Still up there mate. Hang on and win the play-offs :)

Not the best start to the month, but then again it's against one of the better teams in the league and we were away from home. We held alot of the ball, but failed to create any real chances. I really thought we were gonna come away with a point but a late goal broke our hearts.

umm..... what the heck? Did not see this coming, our cup run lives on! We didn't really do anything wrong throughout the game and took our chances when they fell to us. Defending was superb which isn't something that i get to say too often. We meet Bohemians in the Final, which are a smaller team than Dundalk so there is hope for us yet!

Another good away win! Cobh gave us a bit of hassle but we pulled through in the end thanks to a late Kevin McHugh header(who would've gueesed?), so that gets him off the fine i was going to give him for missing a penalty :D Defending again was very good, so we're on the up and up in the league standings!

Another great performance against Wexford Youths, who i consider one of our bogey teams so it's great to get one over them and this win extends our run in the league! We held the ball well and shut Wexford out, limiting them to only 4 shots which weren't anything dangerous. This sends us up to second in the league with only a handful of games left!

This is probably our most important win of the season, with only a handful of points and with Longford 6 points ahead it gives us a little chance at winning the league! We're creating more clear cut chances than ever and scoring more frequently which boosts our goal difference which may be a deciding factor at the end of the season!

So we're 1 points behind Longford so the next month is the most important for us! ( No **** ). It's a three horse race to be honest, Shelbourne level with us on points but we've a greater Goal Difference!

What a month! All to play for now old mate.

Yeah i know - wouldn't mind a cup and a league title to kick things off with :P SHould definitely help our finances.

Won't be another update until monday or so.

Final update of the season later today at around 9pm

Frustration isn't the word to describe this match. So many chances to put the game to bed, such horrible finishing. We managed to hit the post/crossbar a total of 6 times. Missed an open goal and defending was again very poor in the first half. We picked up a bit of momentum in the second half but not enough to get back at despite our domination is possession and the amount of chances we had.

I'm going to be honest, despite our great cup win i didn't expect us to come away with the trophy in the end - every run has it's end and this was ours. Despite getting 2 early goals and going 2-0 up - it wasn't enough. We held enough of the ball to be a threat , but just couldn't do anything with it, being limited to only 6 attempts. We managed to park the bus until midway through the second half and even after conceding the first goal i felt we couldve held on but i knew it was over when they equalised - our team was not able to handle extra time , i don't think any semi-pro team would be so in the end the Boh's were clear winners. Maybe next year?

Just what we needed - the 3 points to bounce back after our league cup defeat. Albeit , we had to work extremely hard to get the three points. A well struck effort from outside the box after 2 minutes from Pat McCann gave us a good lead at the start of the match - but after that the team just got complacent, giving the ball away cheaply and not really playing well together. At half time i gave them a good grilling - even though we had the lead i felt Rovers had a comeback in them and boy was i right, within 15 minutes of the second half we had ourselves behind and only for 2 late goals we would've been beaten by our bogey team yet again! This win put us in a good position to challenge for automatic promotion and play-offs were more or less secured.

Ohhhh - a tough result to take- this sees Waterford leapfrog us into second place. This is really a match we should be winning - we've a better team but it was a poor match from both sides to be fair. They got a lucky goal in the first 10 minutes, a few deflections and the ball was in the back of the net. There isn't much to talk about other than yellow cards, up until the penalty, which was a ridiculous decision - and just to show how ridiculous Mickey Funston was the last man back and who fouled the Waterford player - and he only got a yellow card for it. Need to pick things up if we're going to get promoted.

BOOM! Just what we needed - the win secured playoff places for us and we were actually on top of the league for most of the match because Longford were drawing and we were equal on points and our goal difference put us in pole position but they ended up winning the match and the league title. Great play by ourselves to give us the chance in the playoff's against Galway United!

God **** it. The result does not tell the whole story, we deserved a draw at least but my away luck bites in the back end yet again and puts us under real pressure. We need a perfect performance in the return leg if we have any chance of getting promoted.

F*** my life. Can't even do the job at home. So annoyed at this result and nearly made me rage quit hey but hey? I just aimed for mid-table this season and to get top 2 is something special. With that been said, having gotten so close to promotion and a league cup, it's just really really disappointing. Up and up next season!

Tight finish in the end up!

Tough break mate, soooo close on both fronts!

Like you said though a good season, despite the disappointing end. You'll get 'em next year!

Cheers Lippo!
Sadly not getting as many followers has i had hoped either, oh well :P

I'll have a pre-season update this evening.

Oh man, that's a tough break. Although you overachieved the board's expectations and that's a good achievement. With a few tweaks to your team here and there you will get that promotion this time around!

I'll keep on following this, so don't rage quit mate :P

I won't be rage quiting anytime soon :)

Finally got some time so an update will be coming this evening - maybe 3 or 4

I wouldn't be one to pay much attention to Pre-Season friendlies but it was a pretty good one, playing 2 top teams in Sligo and St Pats. Didn't lose so that's a plus.

Pretty busy Transfer window - i lost alot of good players due to them not wanting new contracts but ifeel i've replaced them all apart from Caoimhin Bonner - who was my main CB last season - he moved to Cork City on a free which was painful. I released alot of youth player who weren't going anywhere and freed up alot of wage budget.

Complete revamp of the Staff aswell - unfortunately the board wouldn't let me sign anymore than what i have. I'm delighted to get Long Throw Specialist Rory Delap though :P

Alot of young players and a few experienced players to help them along. Plenty of versatility. New number 1 keeper who looks fantastic!

Here's our first month of the Season. A tough start against recently relegated Drogheda and another 2 tough games against UCD and Waterford.

I remember having Relihan in a Irish save I did a couple of years back. He should be quality for you mate!!!

A very decent month overall! Didn't get off to the best of starts but we picked it up from there!

All three of their goals came from corners - very poor defending. With that been said , they had a few chances that they really should of finished in the first half - we could of been 3 or 4 down at half time. Second half was a different story altogether , despite the red card we pushed out to get the equaliser but in the end it wasn't to be! Dean Kelly gets his first goal for the club on his debut!

Horrible match to tell the truth. We had loads of the ball, but couldn't do anything with it, Wexford set themselves up well for a draw - completely compacted the space and more or less parked the bus the entire match. There isn't much else to say really. A fair draw.

A great result against the recently relegated U.C.D. A very open game with both teams having their fair share of chances - a proper football match, the difference being - we took our chances and they didn't. We were given a penalty and they were lucky to finish with 11 men on the pitch, took Sean McCarron out of it. Sean had no problem converting the penalty to end the game with 2 goals to his name. The first coming from a tap in after a Pat McCann strike rattled the crossbar. A great 3 points against a strong team!

This was a big game - even if it is early on in the season, i expect Waterford to be right up there at the top end of the table again this year so to get 3 points off them straight away is great. Tommy McGonagle scored an absolute peach from outside the area to give us the lead. We had a few chances after that in the first half but some great goalkeeping kept Waterford in it. The second half was very similar , both teams going at each other. Waterford kept probing and eventually got an equaliser from a corner just after 70 minutes. Just as i thought we were finishing with a draw Ger Pender, the summer signing popped up with a nicely timed finish to give us the win!

A nice way to finish the month. We didn't do much wrong and their goal came from a fluke. We didn't do much in terms of chances , but we did take whatever we did create with Pat McCann popping up from outside the box with his usual slotter. Gareth Harkin scored a few minutes later to extend the lead. It was all quiet then until the last minute, where they whipped in across that sailed over everyones head and into the back of the net!

We're in a decent position, our main contenders being Waterford and U.C.D by the looks of it, we also managed to beat both of them this month so it outs us in a good position.

A decent month ahead - 2 difficult games against Drogheda at home and Shelbourne at home and two away games which are always difficult!

Also got myself a nice little award :D

Manager of the month straight up, well done.

Think i have only won 3 in my entire save, whats up with that? :P

Solid start to the season. Silly to see that Drogheda only managed 6 pts up until now. Are they much weaker as a result of their relegation?

Yeah - i think they reverted to Semi-Pro club likemost First Division sides , i'm not too sure to be honest.

If thats the case then i'd imagine they lost most of their players on free's

A mixed month - Got off to a great start but slipped up towards the end of the month. It was quite a difficult run of games. Playing both teams that got relegated and two decent sides in Shelbourne and Wexford.

I don't know what it is about Shamrock Rovers B but they always seem to be a difficult fixture for me. We were very fortunate to get the 3 points. The first half was lively for us - we created plenty of chances and scored two quickfire goals towards the end of the half. Second half was pretty boring other than their goal. Eoghan Osbourne took a nasty knock aswell which will keep him out for awhile.

Another tough tie - we left it left on in the match to get on the scoresheet. Despite being a man down we were the better team from the start. Shelbourne were limited to a few long range efforts and freekicks that didn't really bother the man between the sticks. We scored through a free kick ourselves, a lovely curling attempt from Ciaran Coll found the back of the net handing us the three points.

A nice victory against a mediocre side. Nice to see plenty of goals and some nice finishing, with 6 shots on target we managed 5 goals - thats a nice return. Sean McCarron got himself a nice 4 goal haul. The game looked dead after being 5-0 up , but Wexford didn't give up with Danny Furlong coming up with 2 cheeky goals. A very entertaining match.

This is a big big game - and one i'm really disappointed to lose. It could be a decider in the end of the season, but it's early days yet :P It was a fairly even game. Not much to talk about to be honest. They matched us in every way and anytime i got one over them ( an equaliser ) they would come back instantly.

Another baddd baddd loss. Losing 2 in a row to our 2 main rivals both at home is unforgivable. It was a bit of a poor match, nothing interesting talking points - not many chances. The goal wasn't that good either.

We finish this month exactly where we started it in 3rd place.

Two in a row boys :D

Record breakers!

An interesting month with 2 cup games and Waterford to play in the league!

On fire mate! Except those last couple of games of course.

Looks to be a bit of a gap forming back to 4th as well, looking good keep it up!
