So following on from my earlier post I wondered if anyone could offer any advice. So quick recap, fairly easy promotion to the Bundesliga followed by a first season finish of 8th (media prediction bottom) main problem I had in that first season was getting thrashed away from home, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0.
onto second season and its been a struggle the whole season, heading into the last few games and i SHOULD be safe from automatic relegation but theres still a real possibility of being dragged into relegation play off. Ive attached a fixtures photo and a squad photo with my TM stats. both strikers have 14 goals each but the next nearest scorer is on 4 goals.
As you can see from the squad list there are some lower position ability ratings, GK, LB, and both wingers, that may be making a difference. I really dont feel like Set pieces are being made the most of in comparison to some of the reviews of this tactic despite always adding corners and free kicks to training. my two highest throw in takers are a 12 & 13.
the two main things over the season I have noticed that are causing me problems are
Getting murdered by balls over the top to the wings - constantly being put under the kosh by this, I had been very hesitant to start fiddling with the tactic that seemed to be bringing most other people super results however during the last game against Frankfurt after 20 minutes of being bombarded I bought the defensive line of engagement back a little and increased the defensive width which really worked, unfortunately i was undone towards the end by the other problem I seem to have which is ....
Players regularly getting caught in possession - the amount of goals I have conceded this second season through the back four getting caught dawdling on the ball is infuriating haha, the midfield can be guilty of it too. I thought maybe trying to increase tempo in possesion may help this? or would be be player specific - too low composure stats ?
KRO!
