This morning Southampton chairman Don Volpe announced the signing of Chelsea's right back for a reported fee of 6m.

"We are very happy to welcome a player of his calibre to the club. Rafinha will lead this club to glory!" said Volpe on his new signing.

After his inability to purchase the Dallas Cowboys (he was 'only' offered the Denver Broncos), Homer Simpson has decided that his interests lie in the English Premier League, and as such, thought he purchased Chelsea. However, turns out he ended up buying the club down the road, Queens Park Rangers. Doh!

Here's a few words from the man himself: "Aww it's the Queens Park Rangers. Marge told me this would be good however, so I took it up. Last time that happened, I said that she didn't know anything about football, and now the Broncos have won the Super Bowl."

There's also a new manager in town. Bernd Schuster, formerly of Malaga and Real Madrid, has agreed a three-year deal to take charge at Loftus Road.

Just wanted to check, after the first window, will you be simming for a month or so to see if the managers sign any players themselves before we do an emergency window on Thursday? Be good to see who managers actually go out and sign
