rishmanisation's English Premier League Chairman Game (FM16 Edition)

The Climb Continues

A mixed month for reading see them climb to 15th in the league title, they can be proud of their results this month. The only disappointment will be the loss to fellow strugglers Everton.

Walker had this to say when questioned.

”We have had a good few months, me and Slavan worked hard to strengthen the team and I think we have done that well, Ayoze continues his good form and all the lads we brought in have been brilliant additions. We are currently 3 points from safety and can only continue to hope that the good results continue and we can rise up the table even more. Avoiding relegation has always been the target for this season and we will work to grow as a club from there.

League Table:
View attachment 141340
The front 3 seem unseparable, as all three teams fight for the title, and are on 73 points. Spurs look to challenge Chelsea for 4th, while Newcastle are on an impressive run, and have put a lot of distance down to the chasing pack in the fight for Europe. At the other end of the table, Hull and Fulham have been doomed for a long while, but the last relegation spot now looks to be between Aston Villa and Everton, as Sunderland have managed to create a 6-point gap down to 17th place.

Player Stats:
View attachment 141339
Arsenal dominate the player stats, as Sanchez and Messi are both in the top 3 scorers, separated by former Arsenal striker Icardi. Ramsey and Everton's gem, Renato Sanches, top the assist tally. Kudos to Jamie Vardy for being in the top 3 bookings stats, despite playing as a striker.

Capital One Cup Final:
View attachment 141338
Despite a heroic performance from Stoke, Manolas' red card cost them in the end, as they were overpowered by a strong Man City side. Congratulations to City for their first title of the season!

FA Cup:
View attachment 141337
Both Capital One Cup finalists are still in the FA Cup as well, as they face replays for a chance to join West Ham and Arsenal in the semi-finals.

Champions League:
View attachment 141336
Some juicy ties await us in the quarter-finals, as there are no real surprises in the remaining teams. The only big teams to be eliminated were holders Bayern and PSG, eliminated by Juventus and Arsenal respectively. This looks to be one of the most exciting tournaments in several years as any of the 8 teams that remain look likely winners. Man City face off against Arsenal, while Man Utd and Chelsea have very tough opposition in the Spanish gigants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Europa League:
View attachment 141335
All three English teams have also made it through to the Quarter-Finals in the Europa League. Sunderland and West Brom face each other, after impressive wins over Lyon ad Wolfsburg in the second knockout round. Spurs knocked out BMG, only to face yet another German team in Leverkusen.

Stoke

Stoke are still chasing that Europe spot that they have been close to take the last couple of seasons. This season we have two chances the league and the FA Cup. The loss of Jose Mauri was not something that will help us to Europe but was necessary to keep be in a good financial situation.

The chances in the league are small due to games vs Tottenham, United, Arsenal and Liverpool. We got bigger chances in the cup. First a rematch vs Fulham then West Ham, if it will be a final it can be a match against City, a replay of the Capital One Cup Final.

Sad if this will be the last season of the game. You could make a 5 season simulation or something. Then we will have a small restart and maybe the interest will be raised to the game. However it have been fun to play this chairmangame and i want to thank Rish and Znik for hosting the game.

In response to that Wuddez. I will probably do something like that. Just sim one season at the time, and write a summary for it. Just to see how the league develops!

League Table
View attachment 140800
As we we enter May, there is still everything to play for, for a lot of teams. Arsenal are in pole position for the title, in the lead with one game in hand. However, that game in hand is against Man City, so the result there could change everything. In the fight for 4th, Chelsea have a 2 point advantage on Spurs and are favourites to grab the last CL spot. Newcastle have to face Chelsea, but are in the lead for the last Europa League spot, but Liverpool, West Ham and even QPR are in with a shot. At the bottom end, it is a battle between Everton and Aston Villa to avoid relegation. Everton have an easier couple of fixtures left, so nothing is decided yet!

Champions League:
View attachment 140796
There will be at least 1 English team in the final once again. Chelsea disposed of Real Madrid, Arsenal managed to beat Man City and Man Utd comfortably beat Barcelona in the quarter-finals. Now, only Atletico Madrid can stop an all-English final.

Europa League:
View attachment 140791
We could also have an all-English Europa League final. Sunderland won the English clash, beating West Brom. While Spurs knocked Leverkusen out in a 4-4 thriller.

FA Cup:
View attachment 140785
Man City have made it 2 for 2 in domestic cup finals. Now they face already relegated Fulham to try to capture both titles. Two tight clashes in the semi-finals should give an exciting David vs Goliath final.

League Table:

In the end, it all came down to the title deciding match between Arsenal and Man City. A win for Man City would have meant the title was theirs, but the offence of Arsenal was too much for the Citizens, and the title stays in North-London. Man Utd miss out by a single point, after only losing 3 games.

Chelsea secure 4th, while Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool all qualify for Europe. QPR, West Ham, Stoke and Southampton just miss out.

At the bottom end, a late surge from Aston Villa means that the bottom 3 were quite far from safety. Everton, Hull & Fulham will be Championship clubs next season. Crystal Palace, Ipswich and Swansea make their way up to the Premier League.

Player Stats:
View attachment 139847Alexis Sanchez had a great season once again, and ends up top scorer, ahead of QPR's big signing Icardi, and Arsenal-youngster Beto, on loan at Newcastle. Messi tops the avg rating standings once again, while Matt Richie has had a great season for Aston Villa, and is top of the assists.

FA Cup Final:
View attachment 139846City pick up their second domestic trophy of the season, as they are now holders of both cups. Their midfield was too much for Fulham, as Emre Can bagged a brace, to add to Koke's goal. Congratulations!

Europa League Final:
View attachment 139845A new team has emerged on the European scene, as Sunderland are Europa League winners! In a final where they were dominated by Dortmund, the Black Cats produced a efficient display to take the game to penalties. Joel Drummel saved 2 out of 3 Dortmund penalties, while the Sunderland players put away all 4 of their efforts. The next season will see Champions League football at the Stadium of Light!

Champions League Final:
View attachment 139844Chelsea beat Arsenal on away goals to face a Man Utd side who disposed of Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals. The final was a cagey affair, and in a Mourinho-esque performance, Chelsea nicked it by 1-0. Oscar scored only 2 minutes after Chelsea were reduced to 10 men, and a strong Cristiano Ronaldo performance was not enough to complete the comeback. Chelsea are the champions of Europe!

Moving Forward:
As interest in this game has decreased, I wanted to know if anyone were keen on influencing the progress of this any more. If you are keen I can do a final transfer window for those players who want to do some final deals.
After that, I will do season-simulations, just to see the progress of our squads, and post the season results here. In the end, I hope we will reach about 10 seasons in total before doing a final summary.

These are the current ingame balances, so any team that wishes to sign a couple of youngsters, or new players before I start simming, can send them to [email protected]
I will start simming the next season on Friday, so get your bids in before then!

Kinda like the idea of the final transfer window.

Has been tough to keep up with this thanks to university coursework. Will be hoping to be more involved in the FM17 edition. Kudos to Znik for bringing it this far!

The 2020/2021 Season
League Table:
View attachment 138995
Arsenal raced to yet another league victory, and this year, the title never looked in any doubt. The two Manchester clubs battled it out for 2nd and 3rd, while Chelsea picked up yet another 4th place finish. Spurs, QPR and Liverpool finished up the European places. Sunderland and West Brom had solid seasons, ending up in the top half. At the other end, a sorry Ipswich side stood no chance after promotion. Fellow promoted team Crystal Palace join them in the Championship, as do Aston Villa. A normally very solid Stoke side had a struggling season, and were lucky to avoid relegation, as were Swansea. Making a quick return to the PL are Everton and Fulham, bouncing straight back, while Hull managed to win the playoff finals, and will also return to the big leagues.

Player Stats:
View attachment 138994
Arsenal's title charge was lead by a rampant Lionel Messi, scoring a (Chairman-game)record high 34 goals. James Rodriguez was also on fire, scoring 23 goals from an advanced midfield position. They were of course both in the team of the year, which looks like a rather decent 11!

Capital One Cup:
View attachment 138992
It's another North-London title. But this time, Tottenham grab a cup-victory! A youthful lineup get the better of Man Utd, and secure silverware for Spurs.

FA Cup:
View attachment 138991
Once again it's Man City winning a domestic cup. They're becoming the cup-experts of this chairman game. In a dominant performance, they easily beat Liverpool, despite a red card for goalscorer Berardi. However, Liverpool would redeem themselves....

Europa League:
View attachment 138990
View attachment 138989
After an impressive run, and a rampant final display, Liverpool are the Europa League winners. There will be Champions League football at Anfield next season!

Champions League:
View attachment 138988View attachment 138987
In the poorest English Champions League season to date, no teams made the final. PSG are the champions of Europe, without having to face a single English side. English-killers AC Milan, who knocked out Man City, Chelsea as well as Man Utd, could not cope with PSG's rampant offence. Looking at that PSG starting 11, you'd think someone has just picked out all the wonderkids at the start of the game, and put them together to make a team... oh, and included Alberto Moreno ofc.

Next season will be simmed sometime this weekend.

Decent season for WBA,better than a last one,for sure, next season we wanna go 'back' to where we belong!

Season 2021/2022

League Table:
View attachment 138926
The title changes hands as a dramatic final day saw Arsenal lose to relegation candidates Reading, dropping the title by a single point. Man City are the new champions! The top 4 remain unchanged, but it is a positive finish for Norwich, who join Spurs and West Ham in Europe. Good development for Stoke, who have moved up, while at the other end West Brom have suffered a shock relegation. Fulham and Swansea continue their journeys between the divisions to join them.

Player Stats:
View attachment 138924
In a low-scoring season, Messi once again comes out on top of the scoring. Harry Kane and James Rodriguez complete the top 3. Impressive stats for regen Jens Dietrich of Stoke, who has a bright future.

Capital One Final:

Arsenal win a cup! A crushing final win vs 10-man Swansea.

FA Cup Final:
View attachment 138922
And it's another cup win for Arsenal. This time they are reduced to 10 men, but manage to hold on to grab a win vs Man City.

Europa League:

View attachment 138921
In an interesting Europa-League season, Sampdoria end up on top, beating surprising finalists Barcelona, who were only 3rd in their CL group. Tottenham and QPR were unfortunate to get knocked out in the quarter-finals.

Champions League:
View attachment 138919
Man Utd are the champions of Europe! In a cagey battle vs Arsenal, they come out on top in a narrow 1-0 win. Man Utd knocked out two German teams to make the final, while Arsenal managed to beat Man City on away goals in the most entertaining battle of the season.

The 2022/2023 Season

League Table:
View attachment 138635
Arsenal end the season on a record high 96 points, so despite an amazing run by Man City, 90 points was not enough to grab the title. The top 4 remain the same, as no other team has managed to break into the CL spots yet. Stoke are into Europe again, as they keep improving to finish an impressive 6th. At the bottom end, Newcastle, Watford and Charlton go down, all teams achieving less than 30 points.

Player Stats:
View attachment 138634
It's a low scoring season, with top goalscorers ending on a meagre 20 goals. Dietrich of Stoke keeps impressing, equalling Pogba's 13 assists. One of the biggest deals of later years, Arsenal reserve keeper Dragowski heading to Man City, seems to have benefitted City as he beats his former rival Ter Stegen to the Golden Glove. Rahmani of Tottenham is once again the bad boy of the league, with an impressive 17 yellow cards!

Capital One Cup:
View attachment 138633
We have a new name on the title-board, as Hull grab the League Cup! Lead by impressive goalkeeping performances by Areola, they were too much for Tottenham.

FA Cup:
View attachment 138632
Spurs make it 2/2 in cup final losses. This time, London rivals Chelsea grab the trophy. Two quickfire goals from Shaquiri was enough to send the title to Stamford Bridge. How will Spurs cope with this?

Europa League:
View attachment 138631
3rd time's a charm, that's how! Tottenham grab themselves an European title, and a spot in next year's Champions League. The Europa League is turning into a good tournament for English teams!

Champions League:
View attachment 138630
Dortmund grab the title in an all-German final vs Schalke. A poor English year once again, as Arsenal and Man Utd were the only teams to make the quarter-finals, only to get knocked out.
