Romsey Town FC Takeover - BAP

Every cloud has a silver lining

Michael Cwian -
"My career in Romsey Town did not start too well. Four friendly matches, the first two were played at a good level, the other two performances were already at an average level... Unfortunately I finished last match with a groin strain and I could forget about playing from the beginning of of the season... Fortunately, I slowly going back to the form. The coach gave me a chance in a few matches after returning. And what for me is unbelievable. I made my debut in the main squad of the Polish team ( I was the first player of the club, which has it done in the native representation ). I am bursting with pride and I look with hope to the future. My main goal will be to fight for a position in the first team, but it won't be easy, because Dan Herowolf is a great player and he won't give easily his place in the team"

Romsey To Fight All The Way

The 'Town' will be fighting on all fronts for the time being. They are still in the Southern league Cup, there still unbeaten in the Calor Gas League Southern & West and are still competing in the very early stages of the F.A Cup. This has further added to the reasoning for Allen Johnson to rotate his team. The games are coming thick and fast and we have already seen a few players picking up injuries.

Romsey are still on course in the F.A Cup! It is very early days in the competition but Romsey are cruising at the moment. No-one will actually expect Romsey to reach the latter stages but the club are enjoying this stage of the Cup. Andreas Naterr played well and claimed the Man of The Match Award setting up three goals and scoring one too.

Billy Bryant scored a brace and left back Matt Smith scored a screamer from outside of the area. Rocco Russo rounded the scoring off with another fantastic goal. He swept passed two defenders and ran clean through on goal, he then chipped the ball over the keeper to score a beautiful goal.

Allen The Key to Success

Kai Mclean has thrown his weight behind the praise which has bestown itself upon Romsey manager Allen Johnson. The team has played extremely well so far this season and it has been the clubs manager taking the plaudits lately. The players seem happy enough with many coming out in the press stating there joy at playing for the club. Michael Cwian has even been capped at international level. Hopefully Romsey can carry on playng well and perhaps enjoy a fairytale season.

Southern League Cup 2nd Round

Romsey Town V Royston

Jamie Salvi was the mastermind today as he laid on four goals for his team. The first two of his assists fell to Fran Gozalbo who scored from a cross with a decent header which nestled nicely into the Royston net and from a tap in minutes later. The Spanish striker has enjoyed some rich form lately and he makes his managers striker selection process much harder with these two goals.

Danny Welsh scored in the second half with a sublime goal. He cut in from the left and hoiked in a great curling effort which was just out of reach for the Royston keeper who saw the ball sail into his net. The last goal was scored by Scott Trowers who scored from a first time effort from the edge of the area.

James Nonle "Hey boss, I was just wondering when the physics reckon I'll be fit to play?"

The League Must Be Won

Allen Johnson has stated that the capture of the Calor Gas League title is the clubs main aim this season and that with the healthy start the club has enjoyed everyone involved with Romsey would be disappointed if the club failed in it's attempt not just to win the league but with automatic promotion.

Calor Gas League Southern & West - Matchday 7

Romsey Town V Clevedon

View attachment 416256

Fran Gozalbo was selected in this match with his recent goal scoring exploits the main reason behind his selection. Today was no different and the young Spanish striker scored another brace but was taken off at half time with a knock that didn't look too serious.

Joe French powered in a strong header after half time and Pratik Sangle scored from a delicious looking volley soon afterwards. Romsey once again looked in fantastic form and Clevedon looked panick stricken for around ninety minutes. John Cruddas got the last goal of the game, scoring from a scramble in the Clevedon box and slotting the ball into the net with a toe-poke

Conor de Souza demands first team football "I'm not happy when I'm not playing, if things don't change I will be asking for a transfer or at least a loan" (I hope I wasn't just injured but didn't see this as that would be awkward?)

Kai Mclean - "Romsey Will One Day Dominate"

Kai Mclean has stated that he now fully believes that Romsey can become a future big club. He has explained that with Romsey playing so well now the club could only improve further. With his money and incoming infrastructure due at the club Romsey will almost certainly be a club on the up. With the 'Town' dominating the league so far it looks like they will win the league comfortably. Mclean has also stated that he will do anything for the club and that he still plans on further increasing the clubs training and youth facilities even after they have already been upgraded.

Calor Gas League Southern & West - Matchday 8

Stratford V Romsey Town

View attachment 416232

Stratford limited Romsey to only three goals and looked strong against a particuarly lacklustre Romsey Town side. Pratik Sangle scored the first goal scoring from a rebounded Thomas Hornsletten shot. Hornsletten was soon after substituted after looking in some discomfort going down holding his shin. Just before half time Fran Gozalbo slotted in Romsey's second of the game as he finished cooly after some decent attacking play by the 'Town'

Andreas Naterr who has been playing well recently scored the third goal, he linked up nicely with John Cruddas as the two played short simple passing up into the Stratford box where Naterr ferociously smashed a ball goalwards. He saw his effort fly into the top corner of the net and looked delighted with his goal.

Thomas Hornsletten Injured - 6-7 Weeks

Hornsletten will be treated by Specialists who Kai Mclean has personally brought in to treat his young midfielder.

It's believed that James Noble is nearing full fitness again and after having been oput for a few weeks injured he should be available to play again in two games time.

You have played a fair bit of football mate. Rotation is key my friend.

Johnson - "Players To Tolerate Rotation"

Allen Johnson has once again had to come out and publically defend his decision for rotating his players. He told the local media that no young teenager should be playing more football than they could handle. He used the injuries to Thomas Hornsletten and James Noble as an example stating that playing in three comptitions and training at a high tempo would ravage even the fittest of young men. Rotation he added gives his players time to develop, improve and rest. He stated that if any player wish to leave the club then they could think again as Romsey needs all of it's players to focus on the clubs cause.

F.A Cup Second Qualifying Round

Soham V Romsey Town

View attachment 416199

A fantastic festival of goals in this game with twelve being scored. Romsey had their hardest encounter yet but luckily managed to escape with a win after a complete Soham collapse. Soham had rushed into a 3-0 lead over Romsey which had left Allen Johnson screaming from the touch line at his players. Half time arrived and the Romsey mood was sombre.

The second half began with a bang. Yuri Belenov scored two minutes in but Romsey heads dropped again once Soham had made it 4-1 moments later. Club captain James Williams scored from a corner and was heard gearing his team up and telling them not to give up. His hunger and desire seemed to inspire the rest of the team, especially Andy Samuels who scored a brace in quick concession to level the game up at 4-4. Romsey then powered on as Sam Freebody and Danny Croxall scored to give Romsey a two goal cushion before a Soham own goal and Tobey Mason goal ended the game at 4-8 in the 'Towns' favour. A lucky escape for Romsey who at times looked diabolical.

I may have accidentally scrolled past a game, but as far as I see I haven't played in the last 6 games?

Apologies. luckily I played you in that game. I've just updated from the last games I played. I'm actually going to start playing tonight now lol.

Yuri Belenov: 'I'm enjoying life as a Romsey player! I feel that my performances are just getting better and better as I thrive under the extra pressure added from being a part of an extremely talented squad. I will certainly continue to strive to make sure my name is one of the first names on the team sheet. The only thing I am slightly disappointed about is the low level of praise I seem to be receiving from the gaffa in comparison to some other members of the squad. I set up 3 goals and scored in the last game!!!'

Billy Bryant: "I'm enjoying life at Romsey, and although I may not be the first player on the team sheet at the moment, I look forward to fighting for that spot. I still have plenty of years in front of me and I am happy to play at Romsey for the foreseeable future"

the quiet Joe French said"it's frustrating to be given the captains armband and play well to then not make the match day squad, but first and foremost it's the boss' desicion and what he says goes, no arguments here" when asked about a possible loan move French replied well sure i think a spell on loan would help me build my fitness, i think if I'm going to maintain a place in the England U21's I need to be playing regular football, but like i said it's not my decision to make, if the manager told me to go in goal for the good of team then just pass me the gloves"

Rocco Russo- I am so glad to have scored my first goal at this club in the FA cup

Pratik Sangle- " I am a lot happier now as i have scored a goal in every game i have started....... I just want to say that I want to become a legend at Romsey"
