Romsey Town FC Takeover - BAP

Kai Mclean - "I'm Proud Of What We Have Done"

Romsey Town chairman Kai Mclean has stated that he is proud of what his club has already achieved in such a short space of time. Romsey are scoring for fun, keeping clean sheets and really leading the way this season. They have already broken club records and they are certainly full of confidence. From when Mclean first took the reigns he has done it his way and the club and it's fans should be really proud of their chaiman and their players who have excelled from their trials.

Shortwood V Romsey Town

Pratik Sangle was Man Of The Match in this game and rightly so. The young central midfielder bossed the midfield and claimed three assists. Romsey scored seven goals from six different scorers which will further impress everyone involved with the club. Sam Freebody scored a brace to take his tally of goals for the season up to eight. Christopher Kean scored with a header from a Sangle freekick and then Sangle got himself on the scoresheet too as he rifled in a shot from an acute angle fifteen minutes later.

Andreas Naterr, Billy Bryant and Scott Trowers also scored to tally up the goals on a dayn which Romsey won't be forgetting in a hurry. It feels like the morale and the spirit with the 'Town' is sky high. Johnson really has got his team playing some fantastic football at present.

Calor Gas League Southern & West League Table & Player Stats

Romsey sit top of the table with a massively superior goal difference to their second place rivals Tiverton who like Romsey remain unbeaten so far this season. It doesn't make for good reading if you are a North Leigh fan or a Shortwood fan.

Story is going great! I'm loving it. My player (Gozalbo) is on fire and the team are doing great.

Must be a bit of a selection nightmare choosing between me (Sam Freebody) and Fran Gozalbo as we're both in such great form!

Michael Henson: "Enjoyed my place in the team at the start of the season but need to work harder to get back into the starting eleven."

A Critical Voice In The "Talent-Factory".

Romsey Town FC should be a paradise to be in at the moment.
The results have never been better, as our small-town club is dismantling all resistance. National media is even starting to call Romsey Town as the "talent-factory", due to the recent mass-call up for the international youth-teams.

"A Football Squad Is Not A Democracy".

But despite the amazing development in the club, not everybody is flying on a pink sky. Rumours are saying, that the young midfielder Malcolm Agger has brought some tensions at the team, as Agger is reportedly unhappy with the attitude of some of his fellow team-mates and disagrees with Allen Johnson's rotation principle. Agger is said to think, that the best players should play and is tired of hearing teammates complain over lack of playing time.
In relations to the controversy, Agger tweeted "A football squad is not a democracy".

Malcolm Agger would'nt comment on the story at today's training. But we are still looking to get comments from coach Allen Johnson, chairman Kai Mclean and other players in the team.

International Roundup

5th September

It was only the young English lions playing today and the Romsey Town players seemed a bit nervous playing for the Under 21's side. It must be difficult however jumping from such a low league into the countries youth international team. Thomas Hornsletter enjoyed the best game out of the young future stars but no Romsey player really set the game a light.

Matt Smith gave a great performance for the Republic Of ireland's Under 21 side too.

Michael Cwian Becomes First Internationally Capped Romsey Player

View attachment 417686

Poland and Romsey Town can be extremely proud of their right back Michael Cwian. The youngster has done really well and all the extra hours working on his game have paid off as he has been rewarded with two Poland first team Caps. His Poland debut was magical stuff as he really looked to show his International manager that he intends to stay in the International frame. His second appearance was less convincing and he will certainly have to do alot more work to stay in the Poland squad.

James Noble Injured For Up To Three Weeks

View attachment 417691

James Noble has fallen awkwardley on his knee playing for the Scotland Under 21 team and will be out for up to three weeks. This comes as a blow to the young Scotsman as it has been reported that Allen Johnson was about to play him in Romsey's upcoming games.

Romsey To Continue To Rotate

Romsey Town are fast becoming the team to beat at the moment. The youngsters of the 'Town' are yet to taste defeat and have been playing outstanding recently. Allen Johnson has been extremely pleased with his youngsters but stressed that he feels his rotation policy is what is benefiting the team as he looks to protect his young side and keep them fresh. Malcolm Agger has gone public about the way he feels Romsey Town should select the team but Johnson has other ideas. He claimed that although he understood why his players might get frustrated he is in fact rotating to protect them. He added that at such a young age a player needs to be nurtured just as much on the training ground as they do in the first team. He finally added that he understands Agger's frustration but firmly reminded everyone that he is in fact the Romsey Town coach.

Romsey Town V Fleet

View attachment 417684

An own goal by Fleet helped Romsey on their way as they fell behind for only the second time this season. Sam Freebody scored from a penalty to give Romsey the lead and Billy Bryant wrapped things up ten minutes before full time. Fleet provided strong opposition and were ruthless if not reckless in their tackling.

Johnson was seen complaining to the fourth official on numerous ocaisions and after the full time whistle he confronted the referee only to be waved away and pretty much ignored.

Sam Freebody Injured - Out For Two Weeks

View attachment 417681

Sam Freebody who took a knock during the Fleet game is now injured for two weeks as he has strained his wrist lifting weights in the gym during a training session. Freebody who was felled in the Fleet game did show signs of discomfort in his wrist shortly before scoring his penalty. It looks like the injury may be linked to the ruthlessness of Fleet.

James Noble - "It's so frustrating to get injured just as I felt I was impressing in training. Still, just have to work harder when I get back"

This happened tens mins after you said aboit more game time. I was like... ohhhh ****!

Lifting weights... bollocks! I've never lifted a proper weight in my life! I was most likely doing something else with my wrist if you know what I mean ;)
