Good Luck mate I will be checking back to see how you finished! Dont let me down!

Manchester City (3rd) v (1st) Manchester United

Going into this match I wasnt confident, as we have really struggled against Man City away from home. Played some more experienced and hardworking players Fletcher and Anderson in place of flair players Defour and Holtby.

Manchester City v Manchester United
Tevez (61) Rooney (41)

Milevskyi (51)

Took the lead just before the break after Azpiliceta breaks down the right, crosses over to Anderson, who in turn nods it down to the penalty spot for Rooney to volley into the corner. Gave the team some encouraging words at half time and they come out firing with Milevskyi doubling the lead through a rebound from a Nani freekick. The freekick was parried by Carrizo and Milevskyi acted fastest, slotting the ball past the keeper to the delight of everyone assosciated with the club.

Tevez pulled one back after 66 minutes through a great team goal from Man City to put the game right on edge. Made some tactical changes to bring Carrick on in place of Nani and moving Fletcher to the wing for support. Also dropped the wingers back to help eliminate the threat of the attacking players on City's team, and it worked as we saw the match out and took home a valuable 3 points.

Up next, AC Milan at home....

After a relatively quiet first half at Old Trafford, it all kicked off massively in the first leg in the Semi Final of the Champions League against AC Milan.

Milan came out firing in the second half and took the lead through an Alexandre Pato goal. We hit back immediately through in form Milevskyi. He smashed the ball in the top left corner from just outside the box after good build up play between Carrick and Defour. Unfortunately we couldn't keep our concentration and Milan hit back just 2 minutes later through Tranquillo Barnetta. The game settled a bit from here and there were very few chances from open play. Anderson managed to level the game and give United half a chance of progressing after he curled in a delightful freekick from 25 yards. The match finished 2-2 and United are said to be disappointed with the performance, but pleased with the outcome considering they didn't look like taking a draw for much of the game.

Sorry about the individual match reports but I couldn't wait to play on, I hope you understand :P

Very disappointed about the loss to Milan as we were doing well and containing until Vidic got sent off. Changed the tactics to try and score an early goal then just sit back and absorb, worked perfectly and Defour put us ahead after just 8 minutes. Looked solid and like we could keep Milan out for another 300 minutes let alone 30, until Vidic got sent off. Paloschi volleyed in a great effort soon after which meant we had to push for a goal. Unfortunately we got caught on the break twice and the final score doesn't reflect how close we were to progressing to the final.

The loss to Chelsea was made void as Liverpool also lost, away to Spurs. Just needed 4 points from the last 2 games to secure the title. Started well with a win at Newcastle which meant Liverpool needed to outscore me by about 17 goals on the final game of the season, so bar a miracle we were retaining our title.

Was great to end the season with a win and bring the title back on such a high, a great win over an arch rival.

So, we have retained the title but unfortunately couldn't win any other silverware this season. After the World Cup I will take time to think about my future and may decide to call it a day on a short but succesful career at United. Who knows, I may rejoin former club Fulham after they were relegated just 2 seasons after I left.

AWARDS

Rooney named 2nd in English footballer of the year behind Tevez. Torres comes in 3rd.
Juan Guerra named 2nd in Players player behind Essien. Modric comes in 3rd.
Rooney comes 2nd in Golden Boot behind Tevez. Rodallega comes in 3rd.
Jake Hopper named manager of the year ahead of Moyes, then Hughes.
Stekelnburg, Evans, Vidic and Rooney in team of the year.

Everton won the FA Cup
Man City won the League Cup
Barcelona won the Champions League afetr extra time against AC Milan

Looking forward to the World Cup and can hopefully add to my credentials and become one of the greatest managers of all time. I think with the squad we have we definitely have the ability to go far, but I don't think we have the star players to match Spain, Brazil and Argentina, as a lot of my main players are ageing now.

Thanks for reading, if anybody would like any screenshots of anything then please ask, or any suggestions on where to go next perhaps ?

Will update again after I have finished the World Cup with England.

well done ( god that was hard saying that about a man utd game lol) nah u did well to restore them

Well done on bringing United back to where they belong. I think that next season you should try and win everything with them, but thats mainly because I'm a Man Utd fan. Good luck in the World Cup.

I spent ages writing the whole summer up but then it crashed. Devastating.

To sum up...

Dominated the group with England, Rooney scoring 5 goals in 3 games.

Crashed out on penalties to Germany in 2nd round after Lennon missed.

Here's the transfer ins and outs..

Delighted with the signing of Gourcuff, Atletico Madrid had put a minimum fee of just £17.5m on his contract, had to be signed for that !!

Disappointing performance in the Charity Shield. I will put it down to new players settling in as we were pretty comfortable but couldnt find any rhythm up top.

Will be looking to bounce back immediately and do well in the league. Aims for the season are to win everything, but main focus will be on Champions League and then on retaining title for a 3rd succesive year.

Thanks for reading, sorry this is rushed but I really couldn't spend another hour typing it all up nicely.

Has anybody downloaded the tactic ? If so, did it work ?

nice transfer, even 10M is quite that much for a 32-year old, but villa still looks very good
and gourcuff, AMAZING

Yeh I was cautious about the Villa signing, but thought if I can get 2 good seasons out of him then thats £5m a year which could be the difference between me winning trophies and me not winning anything. He will also be a great influence on the whole squad, especially young strikers. After a shaky start he is beginning to settle, will update later on after about 10 games or so of the season have passed.

Interesting read and some nice dealings in the transfer market, have you brought through many home grown players into the starting 11? You seem to favour older heads e.g. bringing in Villa and with Macheda being sold to Inter, have you struggled meeting the requirements for european competitions?

Has anybody downloaded the tactic ? If so, did it work ?

I couldn't find where you put the link to your tactics but it seems to be working well for you. Would like to give them a try though.

Keep up the updates!

Its on the first page of this thread.

I have 9 players in the squad trained at the club, and 11 homegrown players out of the 25. Have a lot of England Under 21's out on loan which has fantastic potential, and also a few knocking around the first team. If I stay on for a few more seasons they will definitely be breaking into the team, and maybe as a challenge I will try to field a completely homegrown squad for the season, selling all international players.

Now that would be a challenge !!

I am currently dabbling with tactics, here is one I come up with earlier :

----------O
--------O O-------
--O O O O--
----------------------
----O O O------
---------O----------

With Azpilicueta and Evra as wing backs, they fly up and down the pitch. The 2 dm are deep lying playmaker and anchor man, both on defend mentality. 3 AMC's with a trequartista set to attack, and 2 attacking midfielders set to support, and then a solo advanced forward.

Will keep trying in the cup and in friendlys to tweak around, but it seems to be working OK so far !

---------- Post added at 07:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ----------

Middlesborough (2) v (1) Man United (Milevskyi)

Very disappointing loss on the opening day of the season, where we would want to show our intent and that we mean business. The new signings Gourcuff, Sandro and Villa all played terrible, hopefully they will settle soon as we can't afford to play like this much more.

Man United (2) v (0) Newcastle (Gourcuff x2)

Much better ! New boy Gourcuff shows why he was brought to the champions with a great display and 2 goals to boot.

Man United (2) v (0) Wigan (Milevskyi, Nani)

Wolves (1) v (3) Man United (Villa, Nani, Holtby)

A first goal for Villa shows the new lads are settling in just fine, and a winning steak is starting to come just before the international break.

A friendly game has been organised for the players who aren't travelling with their countries, against Weston-Super-Mare. This will also give me a chance to monitor the progress of some youngsters. England have have a friendly away to Northern Ireland and a Euro qualifier against Poland away in this international break and will be looking to shift some of the old guard such as Terry, Gerrard and Glen Johnson out, bringing in players such as Rodwell, Mancienne, Shawcross or Cahill.

Thanks for reading, another update will come later this evening.

woah mate.
got so tied up with my file that I forgot to check yours out and you're doing immense.
quality stuff here, and I'm impressed even as a Chelsea fan.
might have to pinch defour too because he looks a class act.
keep it up mate :)

Man United (7) v (0) Weston-Super-Mare (Nani x 2, ****, Holtby x2, Woodward, Edge)

Was really good to give some of the future stars a runout, and they impressed me no end. **** and Woodward are 2 England under 21 strikers and they both grabbed a goal, as well as Edge, a 16 year old centre midfielder who bagged a goal coming off the bench.

Man United (2) - (1) Liverpool (Milevskyi, De Groot O.G.)

View attachment 26957

The sending off of Torres was definitely the turning point. I changed tactics to dominate possesion and went to Overload, this payed off as we scored 2 goals and got the winner. Villa got another goal, his 2nd in 2 competitive games for us now.

Galatasaray (0) v (3) Man United (Milevskyi, Rooney, Evans)

Arsenal (2) v (0) Man United

With Rooney, Gourcuff, Vidic, Defour, Anderson, Guerra and Evra out, we had to field a very weak team and it shows in the scoreline. We were poor, but I can't blame the team after so many key players were missing.

Man United (0) v (3) Chelsea - League Cup 3rd Round

Still weak from injuries but I expected better than this. We were really poor and they tactically outclassed us. We have Chelsea away next in the league and if we play like this they will destroy us. However, I think I have learnt a few things about the way that they play and can hopefully use these to get a better result.

Chelsea (1) v (3) Man United (Vidic, Welbeck, Anderson)

Great performance ! Set up a little more defensively and played down the flanks and on the counter, with the pace of my attackers. Dropped Villa and MIlevskyi to play Welbeck for the breaks and it worked a treat, he was fantastic !
