Just wondering Eds, how on Earth did you keep all the players at the end of your first season? All my guys want to leave, and the morale is going down fast for me because I'm not letting them!

Bump.

Update could be up tonight if I get everything sorted. :)

Interesting story you got here -- think it will really kick-off when you get to the Prem and take on the big boys with your squad restrictions. Good read so far -- keep it up :)

Btw, how did you find the IOM? That's where I was born and grew up.

Yeah, looking forward to that.

It's awesome. Go there every year, and the weather was actually decent this year so there was plenty to do. Based in Port Erin due to aunt and uncle over there. Where did you live?

Miny story. I tip you get to at least quarter finals in Europe.

I'm in Dublin atm, but I was born in Kirk Andreas (up by the Point of Ayre) and then moved to Sulby and then Ramsey. Port Erin's a really nice place, especially in the summer. I'm going back in two weeks for the GP -- should be good. (Btw, sorry to put this in a story thread -- I know it's completely off-topic.)

Bump

Good to see you back Ed, eagerly awaiting an update tonight..

PM me if you want anything from me..

Can't wait for the update Eds, good to see you're keeping at it :) Not sure if you saw my last message, and if you did, then sorry to bother you, but I'm interested in knowing how you kept everyone happy after your first season, as while I'm having a go, everyone just wants to leave.

Didn't see it mate.

You've got to keep them on your side. Ask them to recommend scouts and coaches, and tell them if you're going to rest them. But ultimately, some players are never happy and that happened with James Tomkins who I, in the end, had to sell.

Oh, and just playing August now. Update will be around 11.30, I think. Thanks to all those following, you're great.

Thanks a lot! I've cheated a bit and used FMRTE to make them all happy so I can have a kind of fresh start! Feel bad, but it should be easier from now!

Are you feeling okay?

My scruffy mahogany desk had served me well over the years, and it had only recently started giving up on me. But my brilliantly modern office chair was spick and span and that was far from giving up the ghost.

My TOSHIBA laptop made a small buzz and I made my way over to it, so as to bring it to my desk. As I picked it up, I thought, who would be e-mailing me at 12.37 at night? Bit of a strange one, that.

I cautiously opened the screen, and what I saw on the screen was a huge shock to me. Obviously, at the genesis of the club, he hadn't been too big on the idea, but he was wanting to completely change the whole dynamic of the club, and I could tell all this simply from the title. Dare I read on?

David Triesman - Sergio Canales and Iker Munain bids.

I had replied to Mr. Triesman asking what was going on. I had not yet received a reply and I remained perplexed for the time being. Iker Munain and Sergio Canales were tipped to be Spain's next big things.

On the pitch, I knew the boys were capable of a good month. The fitness levels were a lot lower than I would have liked, but I see no reason why we shouldn't go unbeaten.

The trip over to the Czech Republic will certainly be exciting for the lads, and a win over the two legs would seal our place in the Europa League Group Stages.

Continued interest in Alex Smithies from Manchester United was unsettling the player, and I wondered just how much longer I could last. I rejected and rejected and I don't know if I can keep him much longer. We really need to promote this season to keep him.

The loss against Burnley was tough to swallow but we'd qualified for the Europa League group stages and the income we'd receive from that is massive for a Championship club.

We'd played less Championship matches than anyone else and therefore we hovered around mid-table, but obviously that can be improved upon. The new 4-1-2-1-2 formation is working well, although we strangely don't seem as defensively sound, and the 4-2-3-1 has worked well when used in Europe.

The real question of the month, though, was David Triesman. What was happening with him? He's the Chairman of the ****** FA, why does he want me to sign two Spanish kids? So many questions, so few answers.

Not my best update, but would be nice to have some feedback.

I thought it was a nice update mate, certainly keeping me gripped! I hope you dont get Canales and Muniain though. Would sort of spoil the story. Anyway, would they come to a Championship team??

Nice twist Ed, have a feeling Senor Triesman is under some sort of influence ;)
...Talking of being under the influence, hope your results were OK man. Maybe a little more focus on the EL would have been nice, but i can do that if and when i update (which probably won't be today due to it being results day :'(). A little shorter than usual too, but again i can build on anything you (or anyone else) think you may have missed other than the aforementioned.

Everyone (including me) is still gripped though lol
