September update
Saturday, 11 September:
A new record high off 9 goals in one match. This match had a lot of fireworks and heerenveen was a bit to strong for the Ajax players this time. Especially Henrique was to much to take for our defense.
Þ Man of the match: Heerenveen's Paulo Henrique (9.3)
Saturday, 18 September:
Willem II were brushed aside in this game. Ajax played with a lot of confidence and showed some attractive football today.
Þ Man of the match: Siem de Jong (7.8)
Sunday, 26 September:
Romelu Lukaku is starting to prove he's becoming worthy of regular first team appearances. He made the difference with his goal in this tight clash.
Þ Man of the match: Romelu Lukaku (7.5)

And so it begins...Ajax can finally compete again in the glorious Champions League. Can they repeat their former triumphs or will they crash and burn?
"This text is written because the intro of the song is a bit too long. You will not gain any information from reading these words. Bla blablabla blabla, bla bla bla blalalalaaaaa! Well, now that i've wasted enough of your time so the song is well on it's way... Let's begin!
Tuesday, 14 September:
The first match of the group stage. Dutch Ajaxien gladiators versus the Greeks. At the end of the match it's clear that the Dutch technique (al be it in an Uruguayan package) was too much to handle for Panathinaikos.
Þ Man of the match: Luis Suarez (8.5)
Wednesday, 29 September:
Some bad finishing was shown by Ajax today, but they did just enough to secure a win. With this win Ajax has started its European adventure with a 6 out of 6.
Þ Man of the match: Dario Cvitanich (7.5)

Thursday, 23 September:
We were clear favorites for this match but de Treffers almost caused a shock by scoring after only 5 minutes of play. Luckily Ajax kept playing determined, knowing they would prevail. Luis Suarez was magnificent, scoring 3 goals and constantly challenging the opposition defense.
Þ Man of the match: Luis Suarez (9.4)

End of month conclusion:
Pro’s: A lovely start to the Champions League with 2 wins. We now share the first place in the group with Olympique Lyonnais.
Con’s: The loss against SC Heerenveen. Scoring 4 goals and still losing the game is never fun.
Best youth player of the month: Lukaku showed his potential this month. He was still too young to really make a difference in the games last season but I think this season he's gonna have his big break-through. He also played his first game in Belgian national team this month. Coincidence? I think not! Advocaat and Me think the same thing about the 17 yo black diamond.
