Oktober update

Breaking news
At the 1st of oktober, 2:15 pm, a press-conference was held at Amsterdam Arena.
It was there that manager Nuyts announced to the media that because of Ajax's growing stature, he and the board were able to get Pompey Dan's assistance for the teams match broadcasting. Pompey Dan is a world famous technician who worked with numerous other football clubs to perfectionize their broadcasting capabilities. Because of his aid, Ajax know have the know-how and equipment to broadcast 3D-television to the fans. However because this technique is expensive and time-consuming only the goals of important matches will be broadcast in the new 3D technology at this moment. When the fans are happy with the new technology and when the Ajax technician staff have gotten used to the new system, the broadcasting length will be increased.
The first minutes of 3D broadcasting will be recorded this month in the Champions league match vs Olympique Lyon.

In other news, young Rodney Sneijder has recently been described by experts as a new Wonderkid. This will possibly stir up some doubts amongst the majority of fans who think Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is the biggest young talent at AFC Ajax for the moment...

Saturday, 2 Oktober:

The young players are beginning to become consistent and experienced. Sneijder and Lukaku both scored a nice goal and played good the whole match.

Þ Man of the match: Rodney Sneijder (8.2)

Saturday, 16 Oktober:

Ajax just played on a higher level than Sparta this match. The result is off course an easy and convincing 2-0 win. With this win manager Nuyts has led his team to a winning streak of 4 matches in the Eredivisie.

Þ Man of the match: Rodney Sneijder (8.0)

Sunday, 24 Oktober:

A nice match to look at. AZ had more possession but Ajax displayed some beautiful counter-attacking football and their wingers gave a lot of accurate crosses to supply the ball to their strikers.

Þ Man of the match: Sebastian Blanco (8.2)

Friday, 29 Oktober:

FC Groningen played a good match and Ajax were struggling for control over the match. In the end it was Lukaku's goal which made the difference. The Ajax players are now on a six match winning streak.

Þ Man of the match: Romelu Lukaku (7.5)

Wednesday, 20 Oktober:

Off course against Lyon it's always a difficult match. I'm reaaly happy with the draw and my players performed well against such a strong team.

Þ Man of the match: Sebastian Blanco (8.2)

And now for the first time in Ajax's history, here are the goal highlights of the match against Lyon in 3D technology:

End of month conclusion:

Pro’s: Nothing but wins in the Eredivisie!

Con’s: Nopthing really, I'm even happy with the draw against Lyon.

Best youth player of the month: It was difficult to choose this month. Sneijder and Blanco both played excellent. I think I'm gonna go with Blanco because he made the difference against Lyon with his 2 goals.

September update

Saturday, 6 November:

Really bad finishing today. We had 8 (!) clear cut chances against Breda, but we needed extra time to finally score a goal. So even though the win and the high average rating I'm not really happy with this match.

Þ Man of the match: Ismail Aissati (7.5)

Sunday, 14 November:

Strange match this one. We ended up winning, but it could have gone either way.

Þ Man of the match: Luis Suarez (8.3)

Sunday, 20 November:

A good match against newly promoted team De Graafschap, although they shouldn't have gotten the chance to score. Rodney Sneijder was on fire today.

Þ Man of the match: Rodney Sneijder (8.7)

Sunday, 27 November:

Winning a match against rivals Feyenoord is always a difficult task. In the end I think we could have gotten more then a draw out of it, but I'm also happy we didn't loose because that would have devestated the fans.

Þ Man of the match: Ismail Aissati (7.5)

Dutch Cup third round

Wednesday, 10 November:

A surprisingly good display from one of our feeder clubs. Cambuur played with a lot of confidence. But Romelu Lukaku's aerial power was too much for the Dutch 2nd division team.

Þ Man of the match: Romelu Lukaku (8.5)

Group stage, Group C

Tuesday, 2 November:

A decent performance from my boys against Group C qualifying favorites Olympique Lyonnais. We held them to a draw both away and at home, even though they were the better team on paper. So I'm pleased, were having a good run in the Champions League so far.

Þ Man of the match: Lyon's GK Hugo Lloris (7.7)

Wednesday, 24 November:

We did a decent job keeping them to long shots. We had less shots but a better finishing which led to the victory. Lyon won from Lech, so both Ajax and Lyon already qualified for the first Knockout Round.

Þ Man of the match: Urby Emanuelson (7.5)

************

End of month conclusion:

Pro’s: We're having a round run in the Champions League. I expected much more of a truggle compared to the EURO Cup both so far it's going great.

Con’s: Too much players have collected a red card this month, so i decided to start issueing fines instead of warnings when it happens again.

Best youth player of the month: Ismail Aissati had a good run this month, he didn't always score a lot but was always giving key passes and did a lot of work for the team. He also improved some important stats.

Ikke: Just wanted to chime in and say that I was enjoying your Ajax story. It's giving me a few ideas on what to do when I start my second campaign to conquer the Eredivisie in a little while. :)

Quick question, though. How's Alphonse Areole working out for you? Given the mixed results people have had with him, from what I've seen, is he getting anywhere in your campaign? It seems that Stekelenberg has been goalkeeping for you for much of your 2nd Ajax season, so I'm hedging that he's not done all that well....

I just read it all. Can't believe you sold Christian Eriksen!
But still, very impressing, and a great story mate :) Nice transfers too ;)

update: I know the story has been put on hold for quite some time. This was mostly due to personal problems in my life. (No i didn't have problems but someone very close to me had).
These things have been resolved now and im planning to take up the story again somewhere next week.
I hope I will still have some followers as i really enjoy(ed) making this story, and it's clear a lot of people have enjoyed it too so far.

Now for some quick replies:

@RunMarkoRun: Areola has been a bit disappointing so far and he's definetly not worth a place in my first team yet. (except for an occasional sub in the 80th minute).

@DaSiimM: i know, he usually turns out very good and i buy him a lot when i play with other teams, but in this story he wasnt improving as much as im used from him, and they wanted to pay quite some money for him (along with 30% of the profit from the next sale) so i decided to let him go.

I haven't replied to this thread before, but i did read it and i thought it was really interesting, i'm following ^^)

Well, to bad he wasn't developing, but it sounds like a good deal ;)

I have still subscribed, so I will follow when it's back on :)

I was wondering in what tactic you are using Suarez to make him score. I bought him with my Lille team, spending approx double my budget, and he just wont score me any league goals. I tried him originally as a poacher, but that failed. I was thinking next either Complete forward attack or advanced forward, just thought I'd ask you seeing how he seems to score in your setup.

wawaweewa, such a good story! keep it up, you have to. whats your formation ?

Breaking News

A nation is in schock as Ajax's manager Nuyts today announced his resignation to the club's board. The board has announced they regret Nuyt's decision, but accepted the resignation nevertheless. Manager Nuyts stated that after being away from the team for such a long time due to personal problems, he lost all feeling with his squad and decided it was better for both him and the team to move on. Almost instantly after the declaration spokesperson Harry Wortel of the "Manager Nuyts for President" fanclub stated this was the worst day in the history of the fanclub and he desperately hoped that Tricky Ricky (as is the managers nickname) would take up the challenge of managing another club sooner rather then later.
Rumours are already emerging and Nuyts has already been linked to numerous clubs in countries like Saudi Arabia, Norway, Belgium and Argentina. So far Nuyts has declined comment on this subject, but it is believed he will give a press conference about these rumours in the coming days...

Thanks to all the followers of this story. I realise some of you might be disappointed about me stopping this story but it's been such a long time since I played this Ajax game and I don't have the enthousiasm anymore that I had at the beginning many months ago. I will however definetly start a new story in the coming day's (maybe even this evening). I don't know the details yet, but I'm certainly not going to manage an English team and the new story WILL have all the depth, work-consuming layouts and background information that this story had.
And since I haven't decided yet wich team I will be managing, I'm always open to suggestions. So if anyone knows a nice team for me, let me know (No England teams and preferably not a team that's well known in the world).

Regards!
Me

If you need a keeper wonderkid then alex smithers is amazing, bought him for my sunderland save and by the end of the season he was pushing craig gorden for first team place. And only 1.2 million at the january transfer period
