Whatever way you look at it. Arsenal's squad depth is **** poor.

Arsenal have had a loan bid rejected for Lucho Gonzalez, Marseille have confirmed.

They've also made a formal bid for Andre Ayew, claiming they reached his €13M release clause. However it expired on 15 August and Marseille claiming the offer came after the deadline.

Because he's 29, come on Calum, don't be daft. Already got one complete idiot here in the form of Sulsey, don't think I can handle another.

How the **** is he daft for suggesting Jags is worth 20m? He's a quality defender and with the inflated prices and Arsenal's need of depth and experience in the back 4 he is definitey worth about that.

Apparently he's too old for such a price tag. sigh.......oO)

Not really one of their best players, Lucho has been for sale all summer and Marseille would like to cash in truth be told.

He would fit Arsenal's style no doubt about it, I would welcome him there.

Deschamps himself has actually CONFIRMED the Arsenal loan bid, he responded to Valbuena possibly moving and said Arsenal were not interested he then said the only player Arsenal were truly interested in was Lucho Gonzalez and a loan bid has been rejected.

Ayew is a murky situation, Arsenal submitted a letter of enquiry about him before his clause deadline ended and it's unclear whether Marseille have to abide to his clause or not. That's puzzling alot of people in France at the minute.

I'd love Lucho in the Premier League to be honest, I would worry about his fitness but he's a top player.

Just thought, with Deschamps now making this public to clearly put the pressure on Arsenal will this make Wenger back off?

He's never a fan of deals being leaked/played out in public.

Is he not one of OM's best players though?

Thats like going to Liverpool and making a loan offer for Gerrard lol.

Not their best player, an ageing but still excellent midfielder. I do like him. It'd be like going to Liverpool and making an offer for, I dunno, Meireles.

Besides, look at how the European market has been with loans. Quagliarella (<3) to Juve, for example, last year.

I would love to see Merieles in an Arsenal shirt. Would be a good player to have in the starting eleven and wouldn't command the biggest fee.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think you're in for Meireles. :P

I know.. I was just saying. Heard were going to replace Cesc with Heskey as the creative playmaker<3

Hey, WE'RE using Heskey as our creative playmaker, okay? Back off.

I wish I was joking...

If Wenger doesn't buy at least a centre back and a couple of midfielders before the end of the window, its most likely we won't finish in top five tbh.
