Canal+ picking up on the Nasri story. Say he's "very likely" to stay now... He has to do a lot to get the fans back on board. Couple of boos when his name was announced at the start - quickly turned into cheers when he did something impressive.

Oh to be a football fan!

Christ how ridiculous. Agent fees-as if they don't get paid enough as it is. Absolutely stupid.

Wonder how Madrista will take this news lol

Well, the deal has stalled so long that it was clear there was some issues. Seems to be agent payments.

But all those sources quote that french source and french sources said the deal was "imminent" and it was just "a matter of hours"..before the deal would be completed a week ago! So i dont believe it until it's on the guardian (Who seem to be the only very reliable paper for english transfers).

If it's true...im more interested how Mancini reacts to this and who he will go for instead. But i would be suprised if Nasri stays at Arsenal for 1 more season....i watched that game and Arsenal look ******* awful! Liverpool weren't that good IMO, but Arsenal were so awful that i doubt Nasri would want to stay there.

Liverpool were very good. Dont downplay how they played to make a case for nasri leaving

Not in my opinion. They were good but i have seen better performances at the emirates and teams have still lost there. But this isn't about Liverpool. I just think that Arsenal were so awful and Nasri and Verrmaelen seem to be the only good experienced players. Nasris body language looked to me like he wanted to leave...especially at the end. Still, i think he tried his best.

Arsenal weren't awful, Nasri actually looked determined, not sure how you can read he wanted to leave from that performance.

Think that's a rather large over-statement. Liverpool took the game by the scruff of the neck after Frimpong was sent off but even though Suarez and Meireles started on the bench, they really weren't that good until then. Carroll won a few balls in the air (and injured Koscielny!) but like us, they had a lot of long shots and no real clear-cut chances (until the sending-off, when we collapsed).

---

Generally impressed by debutants - Miquel was ridiculously unlucky to score the OG after such a good game; clearly helped that Vermaelen was behind him and you could see Vermaelen barking orders at the defence etc. the whole game. Jenkinson struggled after the sending off because a) he got injured, and b) Frimpong covered so much ground, without him, Liverpool simply ganged up on an inexperienced player and had 2/3 on 1 situations. Lansbury a little dodgy, but not the best circumstances to make a debut. Frimpong was superb, but a rash challenge at the end and deserved sending off means we have no DMs left...

Frimpong took time, then played well. Looks good player but needs to sort out his rash tackles or rather silly tackles.

Miquel was very good. Impressed with him, what composure for a young CB. Easily better than Squillaci.

Considering they were the away side they were very good, Lucas and Adam in particular

Arsenal were awful for their own standards IMO. Nasri did his best and i would too in his situation...but his face at the end tells it all IMO. I think he played his last game for Arsenal.

#mcfc still confident of signing nasri. agent fees remain the final hurdle. (courtesy of @MOgdenTelegraph)

Just something i found.

Calling Frimpong superb is an overstatement

Arsenal were average. And you have one source saying they are confident vs pretty much everyone else say its not.

According to him (daily mail journo), thats the latests information from City. (after this report from canal+) Everyone else is quoting that french source.

Not saying he will sign, but i think he will. I dont think Cook or Mancini will allow it to break down because of some agent fees lol.

They were solid defensively - I expected a little more considering our situation. Thought they'd come out and look for 3 points - if they did, they didn't do it very well until the sending off. Created very few real chances until the sending off. Adam was very good, but he was pretty much the only one when going forward IMO.

Why? As Wenger said - he was a victim of his own inexperience. Got booked early on for being silly, then was too keen in the tackle after he lost the ball and was deservedly sent off. Other than that, he was very good in difficult circumstances. He covered a lot of ground and although his positioning was a bit off at times, he was excellent in the tackle. He typified the English Grit™ that everyone's been crying out for. He was very good.

So how is that superb? he was good, but had some dodgy positioning (key in his position). English grit is a fallacy so not sure what your point is with that

Re Nasri today; actually thought he played well, stand out for Arsenal along with Vermalaen. Decent reception for him.

Don't forget though that it was his poor defensive off-the-ball ability that was responsible for the 2nd goal.

Just kept failing to track his man at every defensive incident.

considering his inexperience, he was relatively good until he got sent-off, he will only get better as he plays more games this season

IMO, he was superb. Positioning let him down at times, but he was largely fine in that area. My point about the English girt was that although it's a ridiculous fallacy, it is true that we've lacked a little bite at times in recent seasons. Frimpong added that, and was unlucky that he just got the challenge wrong for the sending off.

Zonal Marking's chalkboards also show how he was positive on the ball, and rarely gave the ball away in good areas. Apart from Vermaelen and perhaps Sczcesny, he was our best player.

As alfie said, from the first tackle he looked like he could go at any time. His passing was nice and tidy, quite impressed with that, but 3 successful tackles 4 fouls and getting sent off isn't my version of superb
