someone like Pastore or Hamsik would be good, unproven in the PL but atleast they would be better than nothing and they can be availiable for that kind of money as Palermo are cash-strapped and I am sure Hamsik will want to play in the PL one day.. obviously you will have to fight off interest from potentially Man Utd

You can easily build your team around Nasri and Wilshere too (K)(K)

IMO, there is no-one that is proven enough, has the quality and attitude that Cesc does for 40M.

Have you seen them play or are you going by FM?

And what exactly is this valuation... I have been hearing the price 40m being said time and time again so is'nt that what I mentioned... around 35-40m

Well there's no 'official' figure since Arsenal are always very coy on this stuff. Most of the numbers are picked fairly randomly by the press on very little reliable evidence, but I'd say Arsenal won't sell for anything less than £40M (so not 'between £35-40M') and will more than likely try to hold out for a digure closer to £45m. If he goes for £35m, we'll be a laughing stock and Wenger won't let that happen. Yes, we want them to stfu but not if that means selling cut-price because that means they win.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ramsey does in pre-season. If he can get back to his best, I really believe he has all the qualities to be as good as Cesc in the near future (2/3 years max) so I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger didn't splash out £40m to sign one player who would serve as a direct replacement. Arsenal fans wouldn't be happy, but he'd invest it in other areas of the squad imho.

Are either of Hamsik or Pastore proper play-makers? I thought they were more like attacking midfielders?

Vidal, Mata and a DC would be perfect re-investment.

Just bought Turan on FM so had his name in my head. lol.

Hmm. Never seen Mata but apparently he has all the attributes of an Arsenal player, and can play #10 playmaker as well.. I'd rather go for Gervinho than Turan, but that's just because I've seen him before and he seems more versatile. Yes to CB, but at the moment I'd rather that be Samba than Cahill.

Ramsey is the replacement. I'd still expect to see some reinvestment in that area of the team as Arsenal need cover for both Wilshere and Ramsey imo. Diaby isn't consistent enough and Denilson is leaving I believe. Lansbury also showed in the Euro U21's that he has a role to play this season

Pastore is #10. He had average season. Can pull strings from mid field but he played lot of games as #10.

Hamsik is a proper CM. Very good goal threat too..

See, the edit. Haha.
Meant to say Vidal rather than Turan as i just signed him on FM and he was in my head..

I've seen some of Mata and he looks a fantastic player and seemingly will fit into Arsenal. I also would prefer Samba over Cahill.

Yeah, not massive investment though. Diaby needs to get over his injury problems and as much as I'd like Lansbury to break through next season, I think he'll have to wait another year to get regular football and I'd rather Wilshere's back up was more experienced. Not sure who we'd get tbh - Vidal is being reported in the press but again, I've never seen him play...

I wouldn't prefer Samba because I think he's better by the way - just because he's more what we need. Experienced, and wouldn't block Bartley because he'd move aside in 2 years or so anyway. Short-term investment.

How is this an exclusive from the Mirror?!

He looked impressive in the WC for Chile. That's all I have seen of him play. But looking at some of the Forums people seem to rate him highly.

jeez... they are very good players, both have a very good passing ability, a great eye for a killer pass, they have a got a great techinal all-round ability... i dont see why they cant fill the void that will be left by Fabregas

In a way I agree. I don't think Samba is better than Cahill, I think they are on a similair level, perhaps will Cahill being for comfortable on the ground. But 20M for Cahill and 12M for Samba I'd much rather have Samba.

The premier league is a hard place for Playmakers. That's your opinion and mine is that they are not as good as Fabregas, yet.

Considering Blackburn have always played direct football,i think Samba shrt passing will actually be improved at arsenal

and Joss its more like 4 years, Samba is only 27

obviously not but they are better than nothing.. selling your captain and then not using that money to actually buy someone who can or has the potential to replace him would mean the morale will reach an all-time low at Arsenal tbh with you, Arsene will have to use the money to buy a quality ready-made player not someone who he thinks will be world-class in 5/6 years

Vidal has only one year left on contract. If I'm not wrong he has agreed to move to Bayern or wants to move to Bayern.

He is very good player, very good work rate and good passing range.. He works very hard and from what i have seen he likes to operate from deep. I wanted him at United as he suits us perfectly but for some strange reason we are not even interested. Shame..

One player who can replace (Not completely, but close to replacing) Fabregas is Ever Banega.. He is way too comfortable on the ball and even against Barca he played very well. (Mean to say he is comfortable even when not given space).

they are good enough replacements. the fact is that there isn't another Fabregas out there same way there isn't anther Scholes, but Hamisk and Pastore are more than capable of being world class replacements

doesnt drive forward too often, would have made sense if we were getting rid of Carrick though. Like him a lot as a player though

Yeah like i said he likes to operate from deep and has good shot in him too (Which Carrick too had but he rarely shoots from distance now) and he is brave enough to put in a tackle. Would love him that too he will cost less than 15 Million.. #Bargain..

But to spend pretty much all the money we get from Cesc on either Hamsik or Pastore. Both of which have no EPL experience, would be stupid IMO. To risk that much on a potential start is just plain stupid. Agreed they are very good players, but whose to say they will be that good in the EPL, I'm not willing to bet 30-40M on it and I'm sure Wenger won't either. I still think Ramsey has what it takes, I was very impressed with him in the latter stages of the season and I hope he gets a proper chance this season.

Ever Benega is fantastic also, probably as close to a replacement to Cesc as there is. Would be very happy him coming in as a replacement but just can't see it happening.

Vidal could be snapped up in the region of about 15M I think. I believe Bayern have had a bid rejected so he is not concrete to go there yet. 15M for Vidal, IMO, is a bargain. He also would be potential FB cover as has played there before.

To find anyone close to World Class is going to cost you. Transfers are all calculated gambles, there are no guarantees. Even Banega would cost 30M, particularly once they sell
