The wicket will get better for batting in Perth. So Australia need to be careful, if they bat for too long, i fully expect England to not lose 10 wickets again, and maybe a repeat of test one...

Bit late now mate

CMON AUSTRALIA

Unless we get a christmas miracle then this is game to Aussies and 1-1.

FFS, well that's the test lost. Strauss still can't reach about 25 and Pietersen is back to his usual (out of form) self. This was a huge chance for us to retain the Ashes early and we've ****** it up. ****** Johnson's time out seems to have done wonders for him. Still, I reckon we can win in Melbourne. Good news is that Tremlett is bowling very well and we don't have to play on another bouncy pitch.

I think if we win the toss we will bat and we will pass 500 with only about 5 wickets gone,

i think if they win the toss they will bat and get about 300-350,

If we win the toss and bat, and bat like we have done, its another win without doubt. The Aussie's will have to rely on winning the toss and pulling something out of nowhere batting wise to keep up.

I hate to say I told you so...

England selectors need to bring in morgan at 3, push bell to 5 pull back trott to 6. Openers need to pick up, swann couldnt work with that surface. Colly needs to sacrifice himself, we really need morgan in that middle order

I agree Morgan for Collingwood, not sure changing the whole batting order's wise though. Remember 1 test ago, all our batsmen were on top form, let's just call it a bad day at the office.

Woo Eoin Morgan what a beast.
Irelands only ever double centurion, yes while playing for ireland a day after Ed Joyce's first century for england.
Collingwood needs to be dropped now. only batsman that hasnt scored runs

Wouldn't fancy Trott at 6. Fair enough bring Morgan in but he would bat at 6.

There's no-one that could do a better job than Collingwood, tbh.

Well done for "guessing" correctly :$

don't act like your the messiah of cricket, you luckily predicted how things would go

we will retain the urn, this just makes it more exciting "for the neutral"

and we may even see SOME Aussie fans in the ground for once!! :O

Useless XD

Colly only contributing in the field now and Ive never seen morgan drop a catch. My personal dissapointment is priors batting, if only kieswetter could step it up in the test arena. You need morgan in at 4 or 5 to steady the order like what bell attempts too little to late because hes to low. The openers need to get it together for the next game. Cook nearly ran himself out 2nd over. Rant over! Bring on the 4th test XD

You are an idiot. You get something wrong so the other person made a lucky guess, but if you got it right, it would be because your cricket knowledge is amazing. FMD.

And, what are you on about, seriously...?

You said it was a GUARANTEED win. That was a ridiculous statement and even if England were playing an Under 11 Girls side it isn't guaranteed. Anyone with half a brain cell can tell that there are no guaranteed wins in sport so it wasn't exactly hard to realise your statement was utter rubbish.

I wouldn't have said anything in all fairness, Im not that pathetic. But do you want to tell me what else Im going to do, as you seem to know me better than i do??!

You did have a lucky guess, you really think any correct prediction has no luck in it, naive.

I based my assumption on the form of both teams, it is absolutely amazing to see a total turn around of form by both teams, its not exactly an every day occurrence!

Wow i used the word guaranteed, confidence was high, we were playing a bunch of mugs for the past two test matches XD who wouldn't be confident of a win? I do agree however that ye maybe a bit over confident, because your right sport is unpredictable, which is exactly why it takes luck to get it right!!! Makes it more interesting for sure.

And what Im on about is that the Aussie fans are **** they don't turn up to matches when their looking likely to lose, pathetic.

It wasn't a guess. I merely said that it would be idiotic to believe we had beaten Australia simply by winning the toss. I think everyone will agree with that.

I understand what you mean, and if you said England had a good chance of winning I would have agree with you. But you said it was guaranteed. A victory is never guaranteed. Especially against Australia.

And yeah, you're right about the Aussie fans. So flimsy.

There are lots of Aussie fans at the grounds... The Barmy Army just spam flags everywhere, covering the stadium so you can't tell who is who :P

Typical British... That is all you did in the Age of Sail.. Spam flags all around the world :P

Ye ok mate i see what you mean, i promise not to use the word guaranteed on this thread again, after this sentence ^^)

I was just on an absolute Buzz like the rest of us, iv read through the entire thread recently looking back at what people have said, and a lot of us on here have said some very premature comments, its just what comes with epic performances i guess, expectation.

I still believe we do have a good chance of winning, we will retain the urn, but it may be through a 2-2 rather than a 3-1... either way i really don't care tbh XD

Although i know your speaking from a level head, and an evaluative neutral view so to speak, be more positive FFS, your bringing the rest of us down! :P

Talk of dropping Colly is rubbish. Morgan can't bowl, and we need some reliable part time bowlers to see us through the lean times and maybe pick up a bonus wicket. Colly gives us that reliable tight bowling with the odd wicket as seen yesterday, and he is imo the best fielder in the world right now.

This x1000

Collingwood is a terrific fielder and is more than accomplished with ball and bat

You can't keep your place in a team based on being a part-time bowler and a good fielder though. As someone said, Morgan is a more than capable fielder and although Colly will pick up the odd wicket in the field, his contribution of runs isn't good enough anymore on a consistant basis. Need to start looking to the future and Eoin is quite definitely that.

Eoin can play the pace bowlers alot better than colly, Morgan rarely gives his wicket away cheaply and he is showing the form that Trott and Collingwood are not.
If your looking at a part time bowler by the way I've seen bell pick up some wickets in the county championship XD even pietersens a capable bowler.
Collingwoods great in a ODI side but test wise he just isnt helping us in our batting attack
