wow.
just... wow.
20 forum pages on cricket. I've watched a couple of cricket matches in my life, and i gotta say, that game isnt much more than an excuse for peeps to get hammered. The game is about as fun as watching pool on TV.
rugby is a far better alternative for football than cricket, and it's an actual sport, no offense.

That's the amazing thing about it, it has so much to it. The ins and outs, ups and downs, highs and lows, climaxes of a 5 day test match are so enthralling. It's not something you can just start watching and love, you have to appreciate it, and I agree with Jack it does help if you've played the sport.

You can't keep your place in a team based on being a part-time bowler and a good fielder though. As someone said, Morgan is a more than capable fielder and although Colly will pick up the odd wicket in the field, his contribution of runs isn't good enough anymore on a consistant basis. Need to start looking to the future and Eoin is quite definitely that.

I see your point, batters sholdn't be kept in the team just because of their fielding or bowling.

But,

That catch is the kind of thing that can spark a revival among the team, imo no-one else in the world, let alone the England squad would have caught it. He is capable of taking a catch like that regualrly, he's taken many of them over the years.

Besides that he's a senior player, experienced etc. Not sure he's ever skippered the test team but he has lead the ODI and twenty20 sides, we need our most experienced heads in a pressure series like this is turning into. Theres lots of needle and a bit of aggression etc between the players now, see Prior and Punter and Mitch v Jimmy for details, we need our coolest heads imo.

In the next series we play, if Colly struggles with the bat then it's probably time to give Morgan a go, changing halfway through a high pressure series is a big big risk imo.

Collingwood is the best fielder in the world and no one else in our squad would have taken the two catches he has taken this series not to mention the amount of runs he has saved.

football pansies... seriously are you posting to get an argument or what?

if you love the egg shaped ball that much go and talk on a rugby forum about it, don't post this **** on here, especially this thread, because it has gone very well so far and remained on topic for 20 pages!

you have just proved the biggest theory of cricket there is, people who slate cricket and criticise it don't understand it. If you did, your opinion may be much different.

Stop trolling, its clearly a joke, second part of the post clearly states he's curious to learn more about Cricket.

australia levels the series 1-1, england have gone back to the way they played in 2006

Just down to absolutely poor batting in both innings. Horrific to watch when you see batsman after batsman come in face 30 balls for 3-4 runs then edge it to the slips or get caught LBW. England knew how Australia were going to bowl and they still changed nothing from the first innings, bowlers were a bit timid in the middle sessions of the aussie innings as well. England need to reshape something in their batting, if its a dressing room meeting or something because they simply played too defensive, I mean K.P and the rest were a good yard back in their own crease every ball. Only way to play swing bowling is to smother it ot attack it before it can swing in. England did neither and they paid the price of leting the aussies tie it. Just hope Andy Flower gives them a good 'talking' to (batsmen).

Come on lads!!! I'm in it for the long haul tonight.

Disappointing start for England. Clearly something in the pitch.

Get in! Tremlett you hero!!

15-1.
