When that happened (Rooney's unhappiness) in 2010 I knew it was all about money and he got it. He got his money. Now, the situation is a little bit different as the board said they would not offer him a new contract. He is actually looking to leave the club. I actually believed the Mata rumours because they were there for weeks and I just know Jose doesn't care if a player is world-class, he just wants his type of players. He isn't used to having a half squad of dwarfs either. So that made me believe that rumour. Mike and Joel said it well actually, we really don't know what's going on behind the scenes. I don't believe either of them. I certainly don't believe Jose. lol.

Or his agent wants to engineer a big pay day for himself. Absolute cretin that man.

What a goal from De Bruyne! That injury after was bad though. Hopefully nothing serious.

Traore was good!

Looked horrible the way he landed on it, great goal but a real shame if he's out for a while.

The first question the Portuguese was asked after the game was on the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, who injured himself while scoring our second goal. He was happy to report encouraging news.

'When he was on the floor and asking for a change everybody thought the worst, but the first assessment by the doctor is that [it is not] ligaments, and if it's something in the meniscus it has to be a very small injury, so we believe it is not an important injury and hopefully it isn't because the kid is a fantastic player. A kid, but a man on the pitch. Hopefully it's nothing important and he will be ready soon.

'The doctor wants to do some control tomorrow, and after tomorrow if necessary he will go to London. But the doctor's feeling, and I trust him a lot because he is very experienced, is that it's nothing important and during the next week here he can recover.'

Some good news JD.

Anyone know what the situation is with this Bertrand Traore? Apparently on trial but heard his been at the club since 2010 :S

But you are ignoring the main point. Mourinho himself said that mata was the only player available in that mould. Perhaps he wants to keep Hazard on the left where he is best considering he is our brightest attacking talent behind Mata

Hazard is better central. I think he tends to be tagged as a winger because of his pace, it's obviously easier to make the most of his pace on the wing because there's usually more space, but for me, he's better suited central. I think the #10 role will be rotated a lot more this year; when Schürrle, Mata and Hazard all play, I think it will be Schürrle - Hazard - Mata, and when Schürrle doesn't play, Hazard will probably be on the left. We'll have a better idea of that in the US, though.

Shame Wallace couldn't get his work permit. Impressed a lot.

AFAIK we haven't made an attempt to get him a WP. Mourinho said they weren't going to attempt to get one. Although, that's not to say the club haven't before Mourinho's arrival/without Mourinho knowing. I think a loan's best for him anyway, even though it's a shame it can't be a PL loan.

He's signing a contract in September when he turns 18. I think he should also be able to get a work permit.

It's a similar situation to that of Piazon when he joined as a 17-year-old; he had to wait until his 18 birthday because you're not allowed to be transferred to another continent under the age of 18 (or it may vary depending on the country/continent, I'm not sure) or something like that.

Not to worry though, Traoré will be a Chelsea player, I'm sure. I think we'll keep him, use him for the U21s and then occasionally bench appearances, maybe play in cup games. Mourinho will welcome him into the squad because he's left-footed so adds another option for the right wing.

Eden's English is coming along nicely!

Everytime I hear a foreign player (who's been just a few months in England) speak English I can't stop but think of how stupid Tevez was.

Stupid? He earned tens of millions without speaking good Spanish, let alone English, the guy's a genius.

Why does Gigi say 'Kevin De Bruna'? I don't know how you pronounce Bruyne but I always assumed it rhymed with groin.

I like Hazard, good player and seems a good lad.

Think it's pronounced "Kevin De Brun-yuh".

I heard its the Flemish was to pronounce it, sounds **** i know.

Decent performance and result and good to see Traore getting a goal. Sensational strike by De Bruyne and fingers crossed its not too bad because he was very impressive wide right. Good to have a striker who can beat the offside trap and finish well and his development continues. McEachran looked very good when he came on as did Wallace again. All positives.

He was decent in the U20 WC but extremely rash. I'm guessing he can't get a work permit yet so he'll be going on loan.
