Well some players have really impressed me so far, and those are Wallace and Traore! De Bruyne was good but I already knew he was good.

Those two really impressed me.

Nice 8-1 victory against a pretty poor side but some nice passages of play especially the 1st Ramires goal. Traore showing some great potential, just hope we can get a work permit for the lad.

Loving how Chelsea are slipping back into the classic Jose style. Not pretty, just brutally effective. I love it.

My take on the Luiz to Bayern situation:

I see many fans saying cash in but i have this question. What genuine world class defender could you get for 40million? PSG just forked out 30million on potential. The market is not great these days. In my opinion Luiz has played some absolutely blinding games at centre back and has improved significantly ov
er the last 12 months or so. Every manager he has played under and there has been some massive names have all played him centre back so they must know what they are talking about. Does he go walkabout at times yes but that for me could be a very good thing if we play a decent holding midfielder (something Rafa didn't do because he never liked Mikel). Luiz coming out of defence gives us something different at times, strikers have to think whether they should follow him, centre midfielders the same and because of this our players will find space. BUT!!!! This can only happen if we have someone who has the discipline to recognize Luiz has gone and knows instantly "well i have to sit at centre back until he is back". Mikel does that immensely, Essien could do it too.

I fail to agree that having a Centre-Back that "goes walk about from time to time" is a good thing, not even sometimes. If someone gave you £40m for David Luiz I would run and take it. Sorry I think he's a liability especially in big games he often makes an erratic decision somewhere within the match. For £40m there would be plenty of options, I'd even throw a few tempter bids for Chiellini if you want guaranteed quality. Even if not though there is still plenty of good CB's coming up who you could get.

Luiz and world-class defending...shouldn't be even used in the same sentence.

So in an age where opposition teams are starting to play defensive players higher up the pitch to specifically stop deep-lying creative players, having a CB that can come out from the back and create is invaluable. Too many people are brainwashed by the media's constant swipes aimed at Luiz and his defending and think he is terrible. The same happened with De Gea, even when he was playing well, people still took the opinion that he was a liability.

The only way I'd be happy with Luiz leaving is if he wanted to leave, and we had a replacement lined up in advance.

Home-team supporters always overrate "passionate" players with a lot of hair. Its the law.

I would question your view that he makes mistakes in big games simply with the counter when?

Never said Luiz was world class. I said we wouldn't be able to buy a world class defender for the money received for him. Carvalho wasn't a world class defender until he worked with Jose so who knows.

£40m would probably be biggest fee ever paid for a defender. The amount of center backs on entire planet that you CAN'T get for that money, is single digit.

....and with a little luck the replacement would be someone who's actually good at, you know, defending.

Well he can defend and very well indeed at times. People exaggerate immensely when they talk about him making mistakes, no surprised people can't name them when asked to do so. For instance i can remember JT's mistakes why can't i remember Luiz's?

Because there are just too many of them. I remember his first few games in a Chelsea shirt, showed great pace and amazing tekkers for a defender but he was giving away penalties like it was christmas.
