Read the article just now. Such common sense articles seem.....out of place these days lol. keep it up

And re: Luiz. I've pretty much always thought he'd be better an an attacking FB

You think that's good? The first comment I get on the article is suggesting him as a striker. :P

I always thought he'd be good playing sort of Lampardesque role, especially now with Jose back. The problem with Luiz is that he doesn't seem to have the kind of tactical discipline and positioning one would expect from defensive player. We can of course speculate that he will improve, but 26 is not really the age when player can suddenly become master game reader. You either have it or you don't. So it makes sense to try and push him somewhere up the pitch.

Not necessarily. Yes, his reading of the game needs sharpening and that will increase incrementally with time, however, favourable partnerships at the back will enhance his game overall. It's why Branislav Ivanovic, when paired with him, is ideal. Whilst one is more adventurous and capable of bringing possession out of defence, the other covers and holds the defensive line. Traditional defensive partnerships work this way because one's weaknesses is cemented by another's strength(s). Never minding the fact that there are multiple examples of players who have become better at a later stage of their careers.

Pushing him up the pitch when (a) there is absolutely no need to, and (b) leaves even more gaps behind, doesn't make much sense at all either. Chelsea don't need to place him further up the pitch because he enters the midfield frequently enough to supply it himself. Yes, on occasion, he could be deployed there, but not as a permanent role. And who can bring the ball out of the back like Luiz from the defence? Not many, if at all.

So Jose did what he does best pre match and had a dig at Ronaldo (apparently) and Ronaldo answered him on the field.

He should come to Old Trafford and do some real payback.

Trying to **** off Cristiano was not the brightest plan...in the future Jose would be smart to only pick on opponents who are actually human.

Luckily, the entire Premier League is human!

Well, apart from Wayne. Reckon he's part troll.

Heres Van Ginks vs Madrid. The way he kicks the ball seems awkward like he's using his weaker foot and it effects his passing. I haven't watched him much, in fact hardly any but his long passes vs madrid were horrific. Not afraid to put a foot in though.

Van Ginkel looks promising, though its still the friendlies... wee shall see if he remains so unflappable under pressure when the serious games start.

Schwarzer with a howler for the first goal! Our play in general has been very average though, Mikel and Essien not working together.

André Schürrle and Kevin De Bruyne, with Mata on the right flank, would be very interesting. To me anyway.

I doubt that will happen though. Eden Hazard is too good to leave on the bench and Mourinho has more or less labelled him as an untouchable

No one is untouchable under Jose. Like Ferguson he will drop whoever it takes to get the job done.

Hazards run for the winner was just a ******* joke! Think this season he will end up winning our player of the season and even the leagues best player too. Essien was very impressive again last night too.

Luis Gustavo would be a good signing for us. Wonder if Mourinho will pursue

Luiz Gustavo would be great for all the big Premier League teams, apart from Tottenham and Man City perhaps.......

I reckon Rooney must be pretty ****** off at Chelsea at the moment, considering they are (so far) only willing to up their bid to ~£25 million when they bought Torres for £50 million!

It's a good time to be a Chelsea fan, though, I'd say, with Mourinho's return and all the talent in midfield. They definitely have the best attacking midfield in the league, but I'd say their overall midfield is best too.
