Guardian reporting that we are monitoring Zouma and Shaw very closely. Good chance that we can tie up Zouma this window as well..

I think Shaw also might be quite possible considering problems Southampton are having. Pochettino might follow Cortese out of the club after next game and if that happens can see some of their players wanting to leave and first in line would likely be Shaw.

Yea that was what I thought. We did make enquiries at the start of this window but Shaw was adamant that he wanted to stay till the summer so all the major clubs backed off. But the now the situation has become very interesting ... United, City and Chelsea are all closely monitoring developments. Arsenal already have two senior left-backs in Monreal and Clichy so their interest has cooled I think

Shaw would be a great signing. Perfect successor to Ashley Cole. Chelsea have been following him for quite some time so here's hoping we are first in line if the possibility of him leaving arises

*Gibbs and Monreal, but yeah we don't need him and doubt we've even registered interest. City also have Clichy and Kolarov and both are doing quite well under Pellegrini so unless they want more english players can't see them going for him now.

Yeah Mou doesn't seem to rate Bertrand from what I've seen so shifting him on and getting Shaw would be logical. Also moving now could actually enhance Shaw's chances of going to Brazil. Currently he's I think 4th choice behind Baines, Cole and Gibbs, but if he did move and could actually oust Cole from the starting line up full time he'd be in strong position to get place in squad. If he were to stay I think it would be down to Cole and Gibbs who'd get into squad as Baines looks like a sure thing if he's fit.

Agreed. Betrand is a good player but not Chelsea standard, we should sell him to subsidize any purchase of Shaw. And yes if Shaw comes here and displaced Cole, it will definitely put him in the spotlight and he has a decent chance of doing so considering Mourinho has played Azpilicueta, not even a proper LB, over Cole in big games. Plus Shaw isn't cup-tied in the CL for whatever that's worth

I think it's crystal clear to anyone that Cole's time as a definite starter is up, we should look to bring in Shaw if we can

And just as I was saying, Zouma comes out and confirms that Chelsea and St Etienne are in 'advanced' talks over his transfer. Mourinho has even called him according to Zouma at least

Yeah saw it also. Only thing that surprised me was that Zouma's only talking about summer transfer and not january.

Also a fan of Bertrand but I spose it's better him getting regular football at villa rather than sitting in the stands at Stamford bridge every other week! No chance of him getting a place on the wing now with all the attacking talent we have and with Coles experience and how great Azpi has been it's no surprise his game time at left back has been very limited this season.

I have a strong feeling that we will end up selling Bertrand in the summer and replacing him with Shaw. Shaw is younger and much better already plus he is English so I would definitely be up for that

No Rooney or RVP for Sunday, must admit i was quite worried as i thought Utd would beat us just because it would be one of them things where Utd at their worst for decades are the ones to break Jose's record at the Bridge. But without these two i am a lot more confident now.

Bertrand will get a lot of game time. Luna's too raw for Villa in the situation they're in.

I expect him to do well at villa. Got a great cross on him too which could be a good thing for villa with Bentekes aerial threat.

Score predictions for tomorrow???

I'm gonna go 2-1 Chelsea
Goal Scorers: Hazard, Oscar - Welbeck

He also said that he bears no animosity towards Mourinho and praises him as a great coach which the papers obviously didn't see fit to print. Also I really don't think De Bruyne's definition of 'working hard' is the same as Mourinho's definition of the afromentioned phrase. He says he stopped drinking Cola and eating chocolates and lost 3 kilos as evidence of his 'hard work' ... Jesus, sounds more like a teenage school athlete rather than a professional footballer playing for one of the biggest clubs in England

Making it look simple today, good job you lot, lets see how many you can get on the board.
