Eh I thought todays game was the archetype of everything wrong with Chelsea at the moment. David Luiz had his customary moment of madness. Lampard interpretes his midfield duties as a 'free' role and we really should have been up by about 5-6 goals but didn't take any of our chances. Same old, same old

Not to mention we were quite lucky to beat Liverpool and City at home as well. Think we are in for a rude awakening at the Etihad

Chalking up Liverpool victory to just luck? Seriously? You want us to smash everyone like City do? I think YOU are in for a rude awakening. We might lose, but they'll never be able to put half a dozen past us.

Luke Shaw would prefer Chelsea to Manchester United, according to report - We Ain't Got No History

Total bullshit. The extent Journalists go to these days! Printing absolutely blatant lies sighs ... Everyone knows he will jump ship to United immediately if they paid him more. Guardian has lost all respect in my eyes with this ****
Obviously, but we're not Arsenal, right? We can offer competitive wages, given same circumstances (Both teams lack a future LB), he'll definitely choose Chelsea.

I never chalked it up to just luck. But even the most ardent Chelsea fan will admit that a few key decisions went our way. If they hadn't, we would have lost. What makes you so confident that they can't smash us? They have been absolutely brilliant at the Etihad putting 3-4 goals past major clubs such as Arsenal and United

And no I do not expect us to destroy every team but we are hardly looking deadly at the moment ... Long way to go in our development as a team

Arsene Wenger went with his same tactic, he allowed City the space to put 6 past them(It was just plain stupid), it was visible. Mourinho's never going to allow that, he'll play on the counter, most likely 4-3-3 and crowd our own half. Arsenal barely had a shot on goal against us, at Emirates. Matic, Mikel and Ramires is what I expect. Willian and Hazard on the wings. (Willian does a lot of defensive work). I expect a low scoring match, regardless of the result.

And we can't predict how the game would've gone had those decision not gone in our favor, some other player might have scored, even the ones who weren't affected by those decisions might not have. The win against City, you can do that but we still put in a battling display.

The Guardian is like any paper: it has its good and its bad journalists. Unfortunately, one of their worst also happens to be their chief sports writer and is the origin of this little titbit. Still worth reading for their continental coverage, Jimbo and to laugh at how incredibly petty Jacob Steinberg is when it comes to London clubs that aren't West Ham.

Jesus Christ talk about glass half empty! We were unlucky not to win 4-5 yesterday and it was a very comfortable 1-0 win we never had to get out of 2nd gear. I wouldn't say we were lucky to win them matches, we matched City for majority of the game and were better on the whole against Liverpool, we took our chances they didn't.

City obviously are brilliant going forward their goal tally shows that, but they are a tad suspect at the back. Chelsea on the other hand are getting goals, creating chances and looking very solid at the back too. I'm not saying we will beat them in both ties but if any side can go there and get a result i believe we are set up to. Luiz and Lampard won't play at the Etihad anyway so that's a mute point i suspect we will play 4-3-3 with Matic, Mikel and Ramires in the 3.

They smashed Arsenal because Arsenal thought they could out attack City and they can't. Jose is not as stubborn as Arsene and will change to suit whatever opponent are are facing your not stupid you know that mate.

Reports in Spain that we have agreed to 'swap' Courtois for Costs ... FFS that will be even worse than Mata to United. Much rather we gave them Cech instead

Honestly wouldn't mind a swap between Costa and Cech tbh ... Gives us a proper striker and solves our goalkeeping dilemma allowing Cech to be taken off the books along with his high wages. Two birds with one stone

Although I doubt Atletico Madrid will be able to pay his wages :/

I said a few weeks ago that i thought we would sell Courtois so i'm not surprised. Also think there could be a chance we sell Lukaku in the summer too.

Did anyone watch the Mata press conference? Journo's kept throwing questions asking Mata if joining United is a massive step up and a bigger club than Chelsea.

Quite cringe worthy how they try to put words into his mouth. But Mata being the guy he is, dodged the questions completely.

And I'm not expecting anything at the Etihad. I would take a draw now for sure.

It's obvious journos will do that but to be fair Utd are a bigger club without any shadow of a doubt. Better club not a chance and even looking forward Chelsea look more competitive than Utd.

Sell our two best prospects???? That's absurd mate ... I think both Lukaku and Courtois will stay next season to fight for a place. After all that's what Mourinho wanted them to do this season. But I think it's fairly stupid to force Cech and Courtois to battle for a place, Courtois the keeper for the future and doesn't have to prove anything. Benching him will only make him leave and we will let probably the best young keeper in the world slip through our grasp

And I'm not expecting anything at the Etihad. I would take a draw now for sure.

Same here mate .. A draw would do very nicely although I would hate to see them go the season unbeaten at home and we do have the best chance of ensuring that doesn't take place

You know it can arguably be said that for the first time in probably the history of the EPL, both City and Chelsea actually look more stable than United

I agree, just annoying how they try to manipulate what new players say. It's perfectly fine bigging up their new club, but they want the player to put down his previous club to. Happens a lot at United and Liverpool.

Courtois and Lukaku are more than ready ... I hope we don't make the same mistake that United made with Pogba

No, you don't. Don't kid yourself. If Roman or Mastour leave, you'll get back where you where when they bought you. Unless there's somebody else who's willing to splash the cash pretty much every season.

This is getting a little old ... Everything that Roman has done for the past 4-5 seasons indicates that he is here for the long-term. The only way he will sell is if he gets an absurd offer, which will have to be from someone with equally deep pockets, or he gets himself into deep financial trouble

Same could be said of Mansour
