Les Ferdinand has said Claude Makelele was the worst thing to happen to the premier league. The ignorance shown to the greatest defensive midfielder I have ever seen really does my head in!

WHAT!!!! Where the f**k did he say that the clueless *******!

I need a gun with 2 bullets -- one for Perez, one for that idiot Ferdinand.

Perez doesn't need to be shot, he shot himself (alas, in the foot) when he let the beast that is Mak?l?l? go for peanuts because he wasn't flashy enough. Look at them now, after buying all those high profile Beckhams, Cristiano Ronaldos and Kak?s, still looking for "la d?cima", over a decade after winning their last CL with none other than Mak?l?l? as a key player. The likes of Zidane, Hierro and McManaman admitted to him being perhaps not the best, but the most important player in the team back then. Refusing to acknowledge his quality is nothing short of a proof of stupidity.

//edit god **** it, the forum can't handle foreign characters, oh well...

Guardiola open to the possibility that Kroos can leave ... Feeling a bit ambivalent to this after thinking it through. Will be actually be good as a CM in the pivot or just in a 4-3-3? No point buying him as a No.10. The money can be better used elsewhere

Is this in an article or an interview with sky or something I'd actually quite like to see this nonsense

After reading the article I do get his point, even if I disagree. The headline's taken out of context for drama value.

I agree with the part about him liking a midfield pairing where when one is in attack the other is in a defensive area but still think he is pretty harsh on defensive midfielders.

Versatility in player roles is certainly a solid concept but the way some people go on about it, you'd think that it was the only way to play. It's especially hilarious to hear Ferdinand (and Sherwood) talking about it, considering the midfield drubbing they got from Arsenal only a few weeks ago...

Mourinho-

“Courtois is our player, Diego is not our player, so I cannot speak about Diego Costa. “About Courtois, I can, because he is my player.”

Asked if he could see Courtois staying at Atletico, Mourinho replied: “No.”

Mourinho on Wenger-

"I’m happy that a club like Arsenal trusts the manager so much, gives him a new contract even without knowing if they are going to win the title.

“I think it’s fantastic to give that stability and that example. Maybe others will follow it. It’s a good thing. I think he’s one of the best managers in the game, and the fact that, in the last years, he couldn’t win a trophy doesn’t change what I think about him. I’m happy for him.”

Just lol

You can lol all you want but Jose can never do what Wenger did for a single club. He gave them fantastic future and stability along with a massive stadium. They are getting massive deals thanks to the foundations laid by Wenger.

Thats a pretty stupid comparison to make considering that Jose hasn't stayed at a club for more than 3 years ... I can easily turn it around and say Wenger can never do what Jose has done and win league titles in just about every major league in the world

No. Wenger is a legendary manager and people laughing at him for not winning trophies are so short sighted and they don't see what a fantastic job he has done.

Now they can pay 40 Million for Ozil, 40 Million for Draxler without help of any sugar daddy or anyone's mercy.

Huh? I don't think anybody actually denies that Wenger has done a fantastic job in keeping Arsenal in the CL (barely so at times) which Jose actually somewhat acknowledges while taking a subtle dig at his lack of trophies which say what you want is still pretty damning against him

Oh and I will be really happy if he pays 40 million for Draxler ... It's a great way to overpay massively and throw all the hard work of previous seasons away

The Curious Case of Ga?l Kakuta | Plains Of Almer?a | "Tell them Osgood is not forgotten on the plains of Almer?a." 1971, Raquel Welch.

Fantastic article ... Some serious questions to be asked about the clubs youth policy regardless of whether or not we have a stable manager

A friend of mine, who is a Chelsea fan, summarised it perfectly. "Chelsea Youth Academy is a business, pure and simple. That's all they do, they buy cheap, send on loans, and then sell at a profit."

I still feel it's pretty damning that at a top club, not one academy product made it into the first team regulars, managerial stability or not. Terry was the last one, I believe. After this season, most probably there won't be a single academy player in the team. Chalobah, Piazon etc will be the others who will go down that road, I believe (loan, sell at profit). It's more about believing in them, and giving them chances. Probably Mourinho, if his job becomes stable enough, will eventually start developing youngsters.
