So much bitterness over our defensive football once again haha. Love it

People seem to be forgetting the fact that our game plan today was to simply not lose and we didn't, job done. When we played City at home this season they had 57% possession, we only had 3 shots to their 9 and only 2 of ours were on target but we didn't lose. People can say what they like about Mourinho but he knows how to win and at the end of the day that's all any fan cares about.

COYB!!!

If defenders could actually win Ballon d'Or Dave would grab it every year.

remember our high line days when we conceded 5 at home to arsenal? I take our boring football any day.

Wise words from Souness...

Chelsea victory rather than performance what matters, say pundits | Football News | Sky Sports

This...

"You're out in front, you've played all your football, scored all your goals, done your entertaining, and now it's down to business. Just get the points in the bag, thank you very much, on to next season and win it again."

Not sure how this is extraordinary to hear. It's true and it shouldn't be even mentioned. It goes without saying.

Whoever thinks the only way to win title is by playing flashy tiki-taka ****, well, I'm sorry to disappoint you Pe(o)p(le).

I love efficiency and pragmatism. So does Jose thank lord. I'd never love someone like Pep at Chelsea. I will support him obviously, but definitely not a fan of that philosophy.

Football is all about results and that's why Jose is the best. He gets the results he needs. He will always prefer results and ugly 1-0 wins to beautiful football. Now I do dig that.

Jose's football is art. Jose's defensive and rather ugly philosophy — flawlessly executed — is art.

Now cry me a river as I'm opening another beer.

can i ask who is dave and well played today you did what you need to do and thats win 1-0 or 5-2 you still get the same points

'People who are whining about Chelsea should be ******* glad they're too young to remember the serie A domination.

Mata stayed to hug all of the Chelsea players at the final whistle yesterday. I've never regretted us selling him, but I'd have him back in a heartbeat... Class act.

Also Ballack, Shevchenko and Zola were all at the Bridge.

If we remain top until the end of the season, we will break a EPL record for most number of weeks at the top of the table. Been a fantastic season if we manage it

Class player and class individual. Mata will always have a special place in the hearts of the Stamford Bridge faithful for the performances he put in and the trophies we won with us.

What I'd have loved to see would be a classic catenaccio Italian team vs modern day tiki-taka Spain. Too bad those were two completely distant eras.

well if you dont something has gone very wrong

Always better to err on the side of caution ;)

But seriously it's been a terrific season. No team came close to seriously posing a challenge barring city for 2-3 weeks in January

And we've definitely got lucky on a few occasions. We've played some really, really bad games. We're lucky City failed to get their **** together.

Positive games far out weight any bad games we played mate. I don't think we relied on others ******** up. We came out of the gates fast and never looked back. Sure their were some hiccups along the way but we have generally been very good

Also big credit to Zouma's performance in the midfield. Shaky passing which is expected but he completely negated Fellaini with his sheer strength and athleticism
